Hi I have a question about footage rights. In Loose Change there is footage from various sources, TV , documentaries etc... did LC have to obtain permition to use the footage from the likes of Fox, CNN etc.... If not can't they get in legal trouble for that? Or are there rules that apply to documentaries which allow diectors to use any footage?

For example programs like The Daily Show that take footage and use it to poke fun at those channels...are they getting permission to use that or is it under the Fair Use Act?
Still curious also about the LC use of the footage. I read they had trouble with the French Brothers, but what about the TV channels? Same could be asked about MM's F-911 and its use of TV footage.
Im just curious as to how these things work since Im always poking around making videoclips myself about various differnt things.
