Title: A-3 / Jt8d Jet Engine

Sorry, but there is some problem with the A-3 Sky Warrior-"theory" in LC2.
I tried a board search before posting, but didnīt find this stated clearly:

The A-3 Sky Warrior was _not_ using the Pratt & Whitney JT8D.

According to my information, the first A-3 prototype was planned with 2x Westinghouse (X)J40-WE-3, but then equipped with 2x Pratt & Whitney J57, also called JT3.

According to the Pratt & Whitney-Homepage here, the following aircraft are equipped with JT8D engines:
Boeing 727
Boeing 737-100/-200
McDonnell Douglas DC-9
Boeing MD-80

The A-3 Sky Warrior engine (J57/JT3) was used for:

Boeing 367-80
Boeing 707
Boeing 720
McDonnell Douglas DC-8

(all JT3C engine)

Boeing B-52
Convair YB-60
Boeing C-135 family
North American F-100
McDonnell F-101
Convair F-102
Martin B-57
Lockheed U-2
Bell X-16
Douglas A-3D
Douglas F4D
Douglas F5D
Vought F8U

It was also used in the Northrop SM-62 Snark ICBM...

Please review the whole A3/JT8 part in LC2. It is nonsense the way it is now...

good catch.

i think Dylan may have completely removed the A3-Jt8d speculation from the next version of LC.

you and others have pretty thoroughly refuted.
