What is an oday?
I am tired and having dirty thoughts ;)

Kimmy - January 31, 2008 01:45 PM (GMT)
Orientation Day, when the uni holds various tours to show ppl about, but more importantly you can turn up to a fete like atmosphere & it has free stuff all over it.

stawberi - January 31, 2008 02:47 PM (GMT)
No offense, but that's a pretty unimaginative dirty mind. I mean... lame.

etimodnar - February 1, 2008 12:26 AM (GMT)
I had to sit here for like, a WHOLE MINUTE! before I realised what O could possibly stand for.

And then I figured it out and it was LAME! :P to you all

Lady D - February 1, 2008 08:48 AM (GMT)
*Deadpan* Owen have you been making decisions again?

coder928 - February 1, 2008 10:15 PM (GMT)
the vice prez and the geek have been

Burton - February 2, 2008 12:59 AM (GMT)
It was lame I know but I just finished week 4 of classes so I wasn't thinking about being orientated half way through my trimester. But trimester students are the red headed step children of the university. I am intrigued by this free stuff.

Lady D - February 2, 2008 01:29 AM (GMT)
Its always a great day. Candy, games, free stuff. Lots of loudness and fun really. I enjoyed it when i did it. There was giant padded sticks to hit each other with. A bungy trampoline thing. Fairy Floss. Stuff

Who is vice president again?

aido727 - February 2, 2008 03:32 AM (GMT)
oooh i remember the bashing sticks and bungee thing :P

just a fun day, stuff is open, intro to uni lectures happen, free stuff, food, colours wooo!

i'll be there for the fun of it, and at the mars table when resting or gaming

:o :o :o

No freakin way did you just ask that question. Who is ALWAYS vice-prez.

John is!

*sighs*
you silly first years!

Lady D - February 3, 2008 09:41 PM (GMT)
I had a sneaking feeling it was him but I am tired. I hate getting up for work. Or working 8/9 hours straight. Its dull work to begin with.

And thats silly second year to you now! :P

Can't wait to see you all when uni starts again.

1&ownly - February 5, 2008 02:42 AM (GMT)
*sigh* wont be there, getting back from qld the following day. have fun tho

JEHT - February 11, 2008 06:43 AM (GMT)
I won't be able to make it because I have a university meeting that I cannot shift. I'll call Owen at 12 to see what's happening. I can confirm that I only signed MARS up for a table and that power supply is not available because the Guild has limited power this O day.

I'll be happy to reprint the posters/flyers and forms again. Though I wish someone could redesign it.

JT

aido727 - February 11, 2008 09:09 AM (GMT)
need redesigning for the posters? if i could get my hands on original materials for current stuff i may be able to put something newer together

stawberi - February 11, 2008 09:48 AM (GMT)
I'll def. be at the meeting.

coder928 - February 11, 2008 11:51 AM (GMT)
sorry to do this but we have to change the location, due to the guild wanting the meeting room at the same time.

so we should proberbly meet at the ref and take a wall there. so the meeting can still be at the same time, just diffrent location.

Lady D - February 12, 2008 03:23 AM (GMT)
Glen works at night and is asleep at that time. I work early morning shift with him and then go home to nap and start my day over later.

Don't expect us to show up.

This is why you don't tell times you suggest them Owen and then see if its plausible

stawberi - February 12, 2008 03:28 AM (GMT)
For the general population, these times are reasonable.

Welcome to mainstream society, Jess. Not to mention committees in general. If a time was "suggested," by the time we'd decided on something good for all of us, O-day would have came and went.

Owen, as far as I'm concerned, the time you have set still stands, and the location is the ref.

etimodnar - February 12, 2008 04:01 AM (GMT)
I agree with Sami. When would be a reasonable time for you? 6pm? That's not going to happen! It's too late for an official meeting as many people have casual plans on at that time. 6am? Are you kidding?

Midday or nearby is reasonable. If you can't make it a couple of times, too bad. If you can't make it regularly then maybe you should reconsider your priorities.

JEHT - February 12, 2008 06:36 AM (GMT)
Aido, call my mobile or email me directly. I'll send you the word documents.

Sh1t happens. I Finish at 10 30 anyway. This is partly my fault for not checking the forums. Warning was given, owen has acted appropriatly in calling this meeting.

I will be at the meeting.

As for mainstream society, it accepts the fact that some have to work night shifts and does not persecute the people that make up the foundation that keeps it running. The world never stops turning and there is always more work to be done.

Personally, i dont care what agenda sets the time. 11 am or 11 pm it makes no difference.

As we move to a more Global way of doing buisness meetings at any time of the day are becomming more and more common place.

Civilised is a relative way of looking at things.

So everyone can cool thier heels.

Deal.
