Sedo - April 4, 2008 01:21 AM (GMT)
With each new detail the normally cheerful Sedo's face grew darker and darker. This was not good, this was not good at all. This kind of technology was not only powerful but, potentially catastrophic. Sedo could only see the political economic repercussions that could follow from this. If this was truly being mass produced the Batarians would have a fleet at their disposal capable of defeating anything the Council could throw at them; this would create fear and discord amongst the galaxy. They had to put an end to this and put an end to it now before it became too much of a threat to deal with them. Sedo only hoped the sometimes overly cautious Council would see reason to act and as he thought of that memories resurfaced from his time as an aide to a human ambassador during the Reaver crisis all those years ago...

Sedo brought himself back to the present. He grabbed the data disc and held it tightly in his hands, "Selena," He called to the still present aide, "Inform the Council that we have an emergency on our hands and we need to meet ASAP." The aide nodded and quietly exited the office leaving the two alone. The Human Councilor was silent for a moment, nodding his head slowly in contemplation, "The council must hear of this. Is Captain Curtis available for testimony before the council should it be required?" His tone was soft, as if he was afraid to speak to loud for fear of someone over hearing.

He hadn't heard of this Curtis before this meeting, he would have his army of aides bring him a file on the Captain.

Athena - April 4, 2008 01:44 AM (GMT)
((I'm basing this off of the notion that the Councilors are not THAT familiar with one another))

Irais was, luckily, passing by the Human Councilor's Office when she received a message from his aide marked 'Urgent'. She smiled as she showed her message to Voor.

"This is why your 'suggestion' is something we don't do anymore." Irais said with a smile before turning to head into the Councilor's Office.

"I still think we'd save time..." Voor muttered in a low voice as he followed his mate into the office, watching the area around for any potential threat.

Irais opened the door the facility and entered with Voor following, though the Krogan (Voor if you don't already know that) had to duck a small bit to get into the office. After passing through the reception area, where a man seemed to be waiting, they entered the office, where Voor stood back up fully and proudly and posted himself at the side of the door. Irais bowed politely to the man whom was undoubtedly the Human Councilor.

"Irais Ku'Suni, Asari Councilor." Irais said with a pleasant smile "My mate and I were walking by when we received the message from your aide. Also, please don't mind my mate, Voor Klesh; he insists on being my personal bodyguard."

Voor just smirked as he looked at the Councilor and the other man in the room, also including the aide when she came back in.

Delta Team Curt - April 4, 2008 02:07 AM (GMT)
'Thank you god, just what i needed' Caleb thought.

He picked the papers and walked over to the counciler. The Krogan watched him, making him feel uncomfortable.

"I have these...uh.." He hesitated as the Krogan let out a small growl "...files about a Batarian weapon that i think the council needs to reveiw. Its basically a super MAC cannon that could potentially down the Ascension if used properly" He said, trying to sound professional.

Athena - April 4, 2008 02:20 AM (GMT)
"Voor, behave." Irais said, laughing slightly at what was clearly a joking action "They don't let assassin's into the Councilors Office, you know."

The Krogan simply grunted in acknowledgment, but that didn't make him any less watchful, though he was a little less adverse to the humans in the room. Irais then accepted the files and opened them up, glancing through some of the more important sections rather quickly. Her previous smile faded with the words she read.

"The Council will review this immediately." Irais said after she shut the files "This... superweapon might even be strong enough to do significant damage to the Destiny Ascension... or the Citadel. Councilor Larsen, what do you make of this?"

Skyrillian Blitz - April 4, 2008 02:40 AM (GMT)
Axim was busy in his office reviewing several reports. An early starter, people rarely saw him get into the office in the morning, believing that the industrious salarian worked all night.

Currently, he was looking over the weekly report from Executor Pein and the increased number of incidents in the Wards. He made note to look over the C-Sec budget at a later time. Next came a notice that several salarian Dalatrasses were beginning their birth processes. A few quick taps on his screen and the expecting mothers were sent gifts, along with further political favours.

His last report for this session was an information packet from a source of his. The Alliance had been attacked on Lionel and the batarians had some sort of "Super-MAC" gun. Axim sighed. The human councilor was most likely going to raise the issue at the next meeting. Reviewing the data, the gun was a crude brute force weapon, a strategic asset than a tactical one.

Pondering the quandary, Axim decided to wait after the meeting before choosing to ask which intelligence network for more information. Closing his files, he took a breather and walked out into the Council lobby for some fresh air. He spotted Irais Ku'Suni, the asari councilor, talking with Sedo Larsen, the human councilor.

Sedo - April 4, 2008 07:10 PM (GMT)
As the other councilors arrived at his behest Sedo spoke to the messenger, a warm tone replacing the concerned one of before, "Friend, can you do us a favor and bring Captain Curtis to the Council Chambers? It would be most appreciated." Sedo also wanted to make sure the Councilors could discuss this in confidence and he wasn't sure if this courier could be trusted to overhear the inner workings of The Council. He then took the time to greet his fellow Councilors whom he had not had the chance to fully converse with since his appointment. He knew them mostly by name and only the briefest of details.

"Iris, Axim it's so good to finally have a long conversation with both of you. Have any of us seen our Turian friend?" He was pleasant and friendly as he usually was and although he might throw in a joke usually for some reason humor eluded him in the face of such a threat, "Please though sit down." He motioned to the several plush chairs in front of his desk. Then his eyes came upon the Krogan, "You can of course sit too, although I must admit these chairs were not designed for the body guard kind of people." It was a lame attempt at humor but, anything was better at this point.

Delta Team Curt - April 4, 2008 07:24 PM (GMT)
Caleb turned to Sedo, pulling up his omnitool.

"Give me a second to find him" He said, searching the citadels networks

He was surprised as he came up to be in a C-Sec holding cell, arrested for disturbing the public, and being drunk in public. He checked it agian, the same result coming up.

"It appeares he is in a holding cell at C-Sec, do you still wish me to retrieve him?" He asked.

Skyrillian Blitz - April 5, 2008 08:04 AM (GMT)
Axim nodded to his peers. "Councilor Larsen, Irais. I'm afraid I must decline the seat. I need to oversee the transfer of a human into the STG, one Ulrich Ravenstein. The paperwork for this bilateral co-operation is astounding."

"I've reviewed the reports already for the incident over Lionel. No, don't look surprised, Councilor Larsen. Ms. Ku'Suni here has a fair idea of my capabilities, you'll soon get used to it. Please call me when Captain Curtis recovers enough to be presentable. Unless you both wish to oversee Lt. Ravenstein's historic transfer?" Axim queried.

Athena - April 5, 2008 02:21 PM (GMT)
Irais nodded to Axim as he neared them, and Voor did the same. She also took a seat as suggested, though Voor simply grunted at first.

"I don't want to sit, Councilor." Voor said in a low tone "It slows my ability to draw a weapon if necessary."

Irais sighed; she still found his combat-oriented mind annoying at times. It was admirable and cute as well, but it was annoying too at times. Then Axim mentioned the transfer of a human into the STG, and it was quite the interesting development.

"As much as I would like to see such a historic development towards the unification of all races, there are other matters that I need to handle." Irais explained to Axim before turning her attention to both of her Council companions "The 'Council's Gambit' is preparing to leave soon, and there is of course this 'Super MAC' that requires our attention. It also appears that Delusio is late, which is odd for him. Still, we would need Curtis to be here to discuss the Super MAC, and the 'Council's Gambit' is the project I'm heading of course."

Delta Team Curt - April 5, 2008 02:54 PM (GMT)
"As you wish Counciler" Caleb said before taking off.

{{ Continued in C-Sec }}

Delta Team Curt - April 5, 2008 03:24 PM (GMT)
Caleb escorted Curtis to the offices. Curtis had recieved a change in clothes, something he was happy about. He looked decent, but to most people he would have been unfit to see the Council as he was right now.

Curtis handed over his pistol to the first guards, not wanting to get shot for having it near the council. He followed the man through the halls, arriving at the Human Councilers office. All that was missing was the Turian.

Caleb entered first, Curtis walking in behind him. His head was feeling better, but he as still tired and upset about his upcoming discharge.

"Sir, here is Freeman" Caleb spoke up to the Councilers

Skyrillian Blitz - April 5, 2008 03:34 PM (GMT)
Axim, who was standing and closest to the door, greeted Curtis.

"Ah, our man has arrived. In somewhat less than ecstatic circumstances, no doubt." he appraised, looking Curtis over. "I see you have been frequenting the Citadel's many liquor establishments. I'll have to remind the owners about maintaining a suitable social environment but I digress."

"We requested you here today concerning the incident over Lionel colony, Captain Freeman. We-" Axim cut himself short as Curtis reacted... strangely.

Delta Team Curt - April 5, 2008 03:41 PM (GMT)
"So the Alliance doesnt bother to update their personel files do they? If you didnt get the memo Im being courtmartialed for what i did at Lionel" He said, mad at the fact the Council was now asking him about what happened.

He knew that this wasnt good, snapping at a Counciler, but he didnt care. He was cranky, and his body was aching still.

"If you read the mission report you would know what happened, i acted agianst a Majors orders and preformed an unorthodox manuever that endangered my ship and crew." He said.

His mind finally made him stop, basically calling himself stupid for what he just did. He stepped back to the wall, leaning agianst it. He froze up, just standing there.

Skyrillian Blitz - April 5, 2008 04:07 PM (GMT)
Axim's eyes nictated. Despite the fact he lacked eyelids, everyone swore that his eyes narrowed.

"Care to explain, Councilor Larsen, just why the man responsible for providing us with a fully functional Batarian super-weapon has been stripped of his rank." he demurred dangerously. "Such actions indicate a lack of... competence."

Inside, the salarian was fuming. Valuable information could have been lost and perhaps as a result, people's lives. But there were more pressing matters at hand. He turned back to Curtis.

"I have read the mission reports, and have noticed Major Samuel's glowing recommendation." The last remark was pointedly aimed at Sedo Larsen. "We believe that one of your crew has also uncovered plans for this "Super-MAC" ship. We would like your thoughts on the matter."

Athena - April 5, 2008 04:27 PM (GMT)
The man, Curtis, appeared to be overtly drunk, in Irais' opinion. Voor somehow found it amusing, a small smile crossing his face as he watched the man speak out of his place. Irais wasn't so much interested in how the man was saying it, but more in what he was saying.

"Acting against orders is one thing, but doing so to accomplish a feat that has alerted everyone of an exceptionally dangerous threat is another in an altogether greater light." Irais said with a stern look as she glanced at Sedo "Why would this man have been stripped of his rank for such exceptional actions? If anything, he should be promoted."

Katarn1138 - April 5, 2008 05:01 PM (GMT)
Delusio scrolled through the datapad as he walked to the council chambers. He didn't even have the chance to meet the new councilors. The Citadel seemed to be recycling them every three years, spirits forgive, they last any longer. A human councilor was the latest edition, which in his opinion, was decided upon way too soon.

He stepped into the chambers and assumed his position behind the rightmost podium. Delusio briefly glanced at the others, bowing his head in apology for being late. A human was standing in front of them, no doubt the Curtis Freeman responsible for the Batarian business about a superweapon.

"Mr. Freeman, I don't take too kindly to those who disobey a superior. A turian who would commit such an atrocity would be banished from the colonies." Delusio glared at Sedo, the human councilor.

"I find the reprimand reasonable but the information you discovered is unsettling. It would have helped us greatly if more precise facts were gathered. However, we can't risk open war with the batarians. A more covert approach seems appropriate." Delusio hoped the hint of Spectre use would catch on to the others.

Skyrillian Blitz - April 6, 2008 04:01 PM (GMT)
Axim could hear the suggestion behind the words of the veteran turian councilor. "Yes, a small infiltration team could do the job. Normally an STG team would be appropriate but my people lack the logistics and equipment to land so far into batarian territory without being discovered."

"Yourself and your crew are quite capable as is your old ship, the Normandy II, former Captain Freeman. However, the salarian military does not accept other races into its STG teams. There is another option, however. A council solution." Axim glanced at the asari and human councilors, hoping they would catch on.

Delta Team Curt - April 11, 2008 07:23 PM (GMT)
{{ Switching Councilers : P }}

"The Alliance has those things, although the help is suggested. STG units could accompany our strike teams, but its not nessecary.

Freeman, i will personally make sure every charge agianst you is dropped, and that you will have your rank returned to you. The Normandy is the finest ship we have, and i want you to command it.

Do you agree Councilers?" Matthew told them

He did not know of this, and if he did he would have told the Alliance to stop it ASAP.

Skyllian Blitz - April 11, 2008 08:01 PM (GMT)
"Councilor Jacobs, I recall that in the past, a predecessor of Freeman stood in this very chamber and was condemned by his superiors, including the former council at that time. Curious enough, this predecessor also commanded a ship called the Normandy." Axim paused, allowing his words to sink in.

"This predecessor proved his worth and honour by providing information that revealed a threat to the species that co-exist on the Citadel. He was made a Spectre in order to pursue this threat, and his actions afterwards spared the Citadel and the species that collaborate here from an invader of unimaginable strength. The man I'm referring to is, of course, one John Shepard."

"The parallels we see here today are much too convenient to be ignored. And I for one, see value in perhaps drawing on the past to help illuminate the future." Axim turned to the rest of the Council.

"Councilors, I motion for the installment of Captain Curtis Freeman into the ranks of the Spectres in order to blunt an enemy that threatens the safety of the council races."

Athena - April 11, 2008 08:36 PM (GMT)
"Hm... this could get interesting." Voor said from behind Irais.

"Councilor Axim, your words hold much truth to them." Irais stated with an accepting nod of her head "Captain Freeman has indeed shown he is exceptionally capable, enough to consider him for Spectre status. He has also shown ingenuity and creativity in his ability to accomplish the goal, much like the last Human Spectre did.

"In light of the current situation, I shall second Axim's motion. Do we have any opposed?"

((I just remembered, isn't the Asari Councilor kinda like the Head Councilor? I believe I read somewhere that, since they created the Council in the first place, that they were kinda the primary ones))

Katarn1138 - April 11, 2008 09:18 PM (GMT)
"You have my vote as well, Councilor Irais." Delusio said, nodding graciously and inputing his authorization in the console before him.

Delta Team Curt - April 11, 2008 09:32 PM (GMT)
"So it is agreeded, Captain Freeman is now part of the Spectres" Jacobs said.

Although a rouge government had weapons capable of taking out every ship in Citadel Space, he was glad for the Captain. He wondered what caused the Alliance to try and discharge him, seeing as he did discover this.

"Caleb, get a line open with Third Fleet, tell them to bring the SMAC here for study." He said to the courrier.

Caleb did as he was told, running off and trying to get in contact with the Alliance Third Fleet.

Leo XV - April 12, 2008 11:04 AM (GMT)
Continued from Choras Den.

As Leo XV got in the elevator, he wondered how the council would react to his news. He had made sure the ambasador had told them that the transmission could be traced, so Leo was coming personally. As he adjusted the built in Omni tool, playing the recorded audio file in his mind again, making sure he got the facts straight.

As the elevator stopped and the door opened, Leo XV and Phon walked out into the council chambers area. Wasting no time he headed straight for the podium area, brushing past a figure he didnt take much notice of on the way. Walking up to the podium, he did a rough bow, as did Phon "Greetings council, Im sorry for the lack of information about my visit but the transmission could very well be hacked" he said "I have maneged to get an audion recording you may want to hear" he added, activating the omni tool, playing the conversation he heard in Chora's Den (see my post in Chora's Den for what the convosation is)

Skyllian Blitz - April 13, 2008 05:41 PM (GMT)
Axim was puzzled at the independent geth's words but nonetheless listened to the recording.

The voices of the krogan, human and turian echoed over the chamber, bringing disturbing revelations.

"A most troubling conversation, Leo, but what is it that you wish for the council to do? We can have C-Sec investigate this but I perceive that this option will prove... unsatisfactory to you."

Leo XV - April 13, 2008 11:16 PM (GMT)
(OOC:Independent Geth? The rebel geth have an embassy on the citadel)
"Esteemed council, if you will allow me, I wish to assemble a small team, along with my own crew, to personally investigate the manner" Leo XV said "If these experiments are unleashed on the citadel then the batarians may see this as a chance to take us down".

Skyllian Blitz - April 14, 2008 08:46 AM (GMT)
Axim paused and looked at the other councilors. It was clear that further discussion would be needed.

"We acknowledge your request, Leo. However, we will need further deliberation as to what will ultimately be the most appropriate course of action. Await the Council's reply at the Geth embassy."

Leo XV - April 14, 2008 08:52 AM (GMT)
Leo XV nodded "Yes esteemed council" he said, walking off.

When they were out of ear shot Phon looked at Leo "Thats all? Not even an arguement" she asked.

"Phon, even if I argued my case, it wouldn't have gotten me much ground, a council discussion was inevitable, and an arguement wouldnt have helped the geth reputation on the citadel" Leo told his disciple "For now we head to the embassy" he added.

(OOC: However... Continues in ambush!)

Fondor - May 10, 2008 01:52 PM (GMT)
Fondor walked into the chambers, he looked like a war hero. His armor had a fierce look to it, and his figure made him seem like a god. As he walked in, the people around began to watch.

"I am Captain Fondor Titantius of the Systems Alliance Navy. I'm here to tell you that I'm going to resign the Systems Alliance Navy....that is...if you can give me a better offer. The Silver Loon is a great ship, it was given to me as tolken of thanks for my fathers hard work. Its mine, no the alliances'. I'm sick of the corruption in the alliance government. You think they'd learn from your mistakes."

Fondor leaves them a card with his name on it and his email. "As of now, I'm a freelancer. Not to mention, I got a ship thats even better then the Normandy II. Its up to you." Fondor walks out of the room. Heads back to the ship. "Take us to the Titantius System, Frankie!" Frankie looks confused. "No such thing, sir." Fondor gave himself a laugh. "Open files, 2105145 Classifed.." Frankie then replied with "Password?" "Caldorian"
