Biography

In a rather odd yet interesting occurrence, Zhanna was born the same day John Shepard saved the Citadel, and subsequently the universe. Her mother was part of the mining crews who attained fuels, while her father was a skilled scientist. Zhanna would always follow her mother down to planets, but instead of actually mining, she’d hang out with the sniper guards who protected them, which is where she learned to shoot. Further study with one of the more… eccentric Quarians taught her about tactics, stealth, and combat. She picked up her skills with an omnitool naturally, as every other Quarian did.

When she was thirteen, her father decided to use her for one of his experiments, which was both dangerous and unethical, irregardless of legality. He had been experimenting with a way to fix the problem of not being able to remove their suits outside of the ship, and had finally found a way that was supposed to actually work. The surgery he performed was a success, but the Geth struck not long after that, and all of his work, save for what is in Zhanna, was lost. Zhanna’s mother too was lost, and it was a truly sad day for Zhanna.

She grew up on her own for the most part, training with her various skills and helping out when she could. She’d go out to the surface with the teams on occasion, and she would always work as a guard. On one occasion, when she was seventeen, she was hit by a rebound of her sniper shot, and it tore a hole in her suit. The area was rather… unclean, so the various other members of the group did as procedure taught them to: leave the unsalvageable and head back to the ship. Zhanna was effectively abandoned on a semi-deserted planet.

She lived on that planet, alive, for a good month on her own, before she came across the remnants of a ship that had appeared to be abandoned. She managed to repair the ship after a week well enough for it to run, and she finally left the planet, hitting the nearest Mass Relay and heading for the Citadel. After a long questioning on why she was there and where she came from, she was allowed into the Citadel where she quickly picked up work as a skiptrace, or ‘bounty hunter’ to take care of criminals that couldn’t be gotten so easily by the C-Sec officers.

She worked that job until she was nineteen, when she was offered the opportunity to be possibly the ONLY Quarian on the Council’s Gambit, where she would possibly be one of the security detail both on the ship and on the planet.
