Sephiroth was genetically created using ancient Prothean technology. His birth was the crowning achievement of the Espada organization before the reformation. His creation was headed by the former Spectre Dygnitas Sentrus, the Segonashi and the Executor Pein Mikuno. Sepheroth was raised in a controlled environment and was treated as a test subject. His growth was monitored. He aged twice as fast as a normal human. His powers showed exponential growth and eventually surpassed even the mighty Asari Matriarchs.

Sephiroth eventually wished for freedom. Dygnitas and Pein both helped Sephiroth escape due to them feeling guilt and Sephiroth proceeded to slaughter everyone else at the sight of the experiment. Everything was covered up and the Espadas began searching for Sepheroth. Due to the Reaper Invasion orchestrated by Saren the search was called off.

For over a decade Sephiroth grew stronger and stronger and continued to remain in hiding. Due to Dygnitas' public betrayal and Pein Mikuno's rise to power Sephiroth has come out of hiding and desires to seek vengeance on the Segonashi and Espada.

Skills
Sephiroth is a master sword user and has a specially made sword called Murasame. This sword is the longest kinetic sword in existance. The sword can produce energy bursts using the sword's power. This sword is extremely heavy, but Sephiroth can wield it with one hand.

Sephiroth is also a skilled martial artist and is well versed in every form of hand to hand combat.

Sephiroth chooses to not use guns, but is very skilled with them.

Sephiroth's biotic power is unmatched. His biotics are destructive in nature.

Due to Sephiroth being created by Prothean technology he can understand Prothean language.
