Title: Global Warming.... Us or the Earth Whos Fault?

To start off a nice debate we have to start with a well known, decade long debated topic.

Alright I know most people say that there is a huge amount of proof that global warming is caused by humans and there CO2 emissions, but think about how many times temperature has risen and dropped in Earth's history. Maybe its just our time for Earth to warm up. What do you guys think?

Well yes and no, I think the Earth is warming up by the CO2 of cars and power plants, etc.

In a chart for Global Warming

I think 75% of the warming up is Global Warming and 25% is, I guess Earth's natural stuff, but I think the 75% is Global Warming by cars, power plants, and, etc.

What do you think?

I believe it is all caused by the Earth. The Earth is just changing like it has done constantly for the past billions of years.

Global Warming is a natural cycle, HOWEVER, we have pushed that natural cycle past its norm, into a sort of Accelerated Accumulative Global Warming. Most who say otherwise are in some way connected to the oil-military-politics machine.

I'm with-holding judgement until the hard science proves it, not the popular science. Unfortunately, by the times it happens, we may well be screwed.

I don't agree with artificial Global Warming on the basis that the science is not all definitive. I do agree with the measures taken for several reasons:

1. Natural or artificial, we still have to deal with the effects.
2. The technologies developed to combat carbon emissions help advance society.
3. Said technologies are also immensely useful for space travel and off-world colonisation.
4. Diversifying our technology base means greater and more efficient products.
5. I have a job for the future (I'm an engineer, more technology means more job opportunities).

What I'm saying is, I don't give a stuff about political rhetoric. Both sides arguments have flaws. What I do care about is how the "bogeyman" of global warming is helping improve ourselves.

The Earth is cleansing itself of pollution.

I am personally undecided, possibly swinging towards 'wait and see' The entire world has been going on for more than 20 million years, and we've been studying it for... what, 500, 600 years, tops, and even then, we've made a pigs ear of it. I don't know though...

You sound very sure Thanatos. Any reasons for debate?
