With a flash, the bane of Lionel, the S-MAC ship dubbed the "Lucifer" exited the relay, with an ungodly amount of Alliance escort vessels surrounding it. Among them was the SSV Melbourne, included in the escort due to her advanced systems effectively stripping the Lucifer of her teeth. Despite the fact that the controls on the Lucifer had been locked out and physically removed, no-one in the fleet was taking any chances near the heart of the Council.

"Alliance fleet, this is Citadel control, make your way to Nav point Alpha and hold station. The Council fleet will relieve you there."

Vladimir Zdravic smiled at the comm message. Nav point Alpha put the Lucifer directly in-front of the Destiny Ascension's main gun. Clearly the Council wasn't taking any risks either.

Looking off the port bow, he could make out a vast ship exiting the Citadel docks.

"Sensors. Tell me what that ship is." he ordered.

"It's the Council's Gambit, sir. Multi-species colony ship. Biggest project the Council has ever commenced."

Vladimir nodded. It had been a while since he visited the Citadel. Obviously things have improved since then.

"Sir, the Council ships are relieving us."

"Very well. I think it's time we had some shore leave. Helm, bring us into the Citadel."

"Aye, aye, sir."

The Melbourne banked and cruised towards the docking bay designated for the Alliance military. An order came in from Citadel Control to shut off weapons systems.

"Gunnery, all weapons stand down. Crew, prepare for docking."
