Let the fights begin...

Sephiroth killed the guards outside the stadium. He was here for one thing, his mother.

Sephiroth walked into the giant dome and ended up in the arena. A man stood at the other side of the arena.

"Welcome Sephiroth. This is the Ultimate Showdown..." the man said.

Sephiroth immedately charged him and cut him in half.

The man seemed to be dead, but then reattached himself and got back up, "Like I said I brought you to compete against other great warriors. Get ready."

The man disappeared.

The sky began to darken, small shawdow like creatures began to circle the arena, suddenly a strong blue lighting bolt struck the center of the battlefield Vergil slowly arose from the blacken spot.

"You two" said Vergil claimly "where the hell am I, and you better tell me fast before I strike the both of you" Vergil wasen't the one for waiting, let alone in a place unknown to him.

Sephiroth saw the other person arrive in the arena.

"It seems like we are in the same predicament."

The man went in between the two.

"Whoever is the last man standing can leave." the man said.

Sephiroth raised his arm in the air and summoned a giant meteor. The meteor began to descend towards Vergil, but it struck a ship flying above knocking it down.

The ship rattled dangerously. Red lights flashed everywhere and the passengers felt their stomaches lurch as they began to plummet to the earth.

"Wot the hell was that," Lochlainn shouted from the gunner seat.

"That would be our left engine exploding," King responded. The duo felt a shock ripple through the hull, throwing them both into the port side of the vessel. "And that would be our right."

King scanned the large, sprawling city for a good place to land. He immediately noticed a large, open-air stadium with a few people there. That must be them, he thought as he spied to figures on the field. They must be the ones we were sent here to fight.

"Hold on," he cried to Lochlainn.

"Ach, ye don need to tell me twice, laddie!"

King grabbed the controls, forcing the ship into a dangerous starboard turn, heading back towards the arena. He aimed the cone-shapped nose directly at the sinister-looking man in a black robe. Just a few more moments...

"Eat this," King muttered. He turned to Lochlainn. "HIT IT!"

With the flick of a switch, the pair were shot into the sky. The air whirled violently through King's long hair as he looked to the ground below. The ship crashed into the arena, exploding violently upon impact. The flaming remains of the ship continued forward, digging up a large furrow on the surface with it's blazing nose.

The parachutes activated, the fabric whipping around uselessly in the air before catching the wind and billowing. In a few moments, the pair were on the ground before the flaming wreckage that used to be their mode of transport.

"Right, than," Lochlainn said, literally ripping his chute off. "Now Ah'm pissed!" He pulled his shotgun from behind him as King drew his speciallized pistol.

The burly Scotsman cocked his large gun. "Who's first?"

Vergil took a large jump back as the ship came crashing down, he couldn't see if the other white haired man was killed by the ships crash. Vergil landed on the ground sliding only a few feet, he slick back his hair and gazed at the reckage as smoke and fire arose from it.

vergil saw as two men came falling from the sky and loaded their guns. "guns" Vergil thought to himself "what a dishonor of a true warrior"

Vergil raised both is hands, just then light blue swords summon around him and began to spin in mid-air, and thrust themselfs at the new enemy.

Sephiroth saw the ship heading straight for him. He drew his masamune and sliced the ship in half. Both halves of the ship went in opposite directions crashing into the walls of the arena.

Sephiroth aimed his sword at the newcomers.

(I'm going to be giving status updates on the state of the arena. Think of the arena as a colosseum. Now there are two pieces of a ship on both sides.)

"Ah got this 'un, laddie," Lochlainn said to King, pulling a grenade from his belt. "Less 'ave some fun, eh?" The Scotsman hurled the grenade at the azure swords, shooting it with his shotgun. The explosion enveloped the mystical blades, dissapating them almost instantly.

Before the smoke had even cleared, Lochlainn dashed through the dark plume, screaming a war cry as he did so. He began pumping rounds towards his adversary. "Stupid bastard!" He yelled. "Bringin' a knife to a gunfight!"

King smiled at his giant friends antics. When he got in the proper mood, it would take a hell of a lot to stop him. He turned to the black-robed man.

"Looks like he went and left me with you, eh?" He aimed his pistol directly at the man's forehead. "Shall we?"

Vergil saw as the large man came dashing towards him firing his gun. Vergil began to watch as the bullits passed by him not even touching him. Vergil quickly took off in a mad dash at the large man summoning swords and firing them at him while doing so.

Vergil then summon large set of flash gauntlets and greaves on his arms and legs then runing at the man giving him a strong upper cut sending the man flying in the air. Vergil then summoned more swords to attack the man as he flew upwards through the air.

Sephiroth raised his sword towards the man in front of him.

"I should warn you that I am going to make the first move." Sephiroth said.

Sephiroth swung his sword at the man at lightning speed. He wanted to finish with this fight as quickly as possible.

Ethan raced towards the arena on his bike. He got an invitation from some weird guy. He couldn't turn down a chance to fight.

Ethan could already see that the stadium was damaged. Monsters suddenly came out of the ground and attacked him while he was driving to the stadium. A man suddenly appeared on the front of his bike.

"You are late and the price of lateness are these monsters. Good luck." the man said and disappeared.

"What the hell is going on?" Ethan said out loud.

(If any other characters join they must fight these monsters.)

A VTOL heavy lifter circled above the arena with it's bay doors open. Inside, "Major" Motoko Kusunagi prepped her high-velocity carbine.

"Batou, things are heating up. Drop in after me with the Tachikoma, I'm heading in now!"

"Wait! Major!" The blue Tachikoma waved its arms frantically to catch Motoko's attention but the woman already jumped out of the plane.

"It's alright," assured Batou. "She knows what she's doing. C'mon!"

The blue robot tank and Batou jumped out of the plane.

In the stadium, a red-armoured monster strode the dirt before its back crumpled under some unseen force. At the point of impact, a figure shimmered and Motoko's thermo-optic camo disengaged itself. Two more puffs of dirt appeared and from them appeared Batou and the Tachikoma.

"Tachikoma, get high and provide fire support. Batou and I will search and destroy!" the Major ordered.

"Roger that!" saluted the blue machine and it jumped onto the higher ground.

Batou linked into Motoko's neural network. "Just like old times, huh?"

The Major mentally snorted. "Keep your mind on the task and out of your external memories, let's move."

The pair moved in perfect sync, hunting for their quarry.

Ethan saw a transport in the sky. He then spotted two people and a blue robot. All three jumped out of the transport and the leading one disappeared.

"Must be active camo of some kind." Ethan thought.

Ethan got through the endless hordes of monsters and drove right into the stadium. Fights had already broken out between several different people. There was also a giant ship cut in half on the sides.

Ethan drove his bike heading straight for the woman in front of him.

"Damn she's sexy." Ethan said out loud.

When the man punched Lochlainn up into the air, he lost handle of his shotgun. Never one to lose his head in combat, though, and immediately drew his assault rifle in mid-air.

He glanced down as the swords began to fly towards him. Ach, he thought. Doesn't tae lad 'ave any new tricks? The first mystic blade flew towards him, and he moved his head to the side just an inch. Several of his hairs were sliced off as it zoomed by.

He reached out his hand, and caught the handle.

As he began his descent to earth, he alternated swinging his new weapon with firing his assault rifle to stave off the swarm of swords. His feet hit the ground and he reared back his arm. "Lessee 'ow yew like it, laddie!" He hurled the blade directly at the man.

Alright, he's fast. King waited for the perfect moment, the perfect shot. As the dark man swung his sword at him, he saw his opportunity.

He lept up into the air, arching his body into a backflip over the blade. He brought his gun down until it was aimed directly at the man's forehead, point blank. The perfect shot, King thought. He pulled the trigger.

Dante came out rideing on his bike by jumping over the large ship crash. The bike landed hard on the ground and slowly slid to a stop. dante kicked down the kick-stand and got off.

"Ok, which one of you call me?!" shouted Dante as he rested his sword over his right shoulder. Three large dog like demons jumped out in front of Dante and began to growl as they got closer, and then attacked him.

"Well this is my kinda party" said Dante as stabbed his sword in the ground, he reached behind him and grabbed his bike tossing it at one of the large dogs, he then clapped hands togther "come on" he taunted.

One of the dogs lunged forward at him. Dante quickly pulled out his blade and sunk it into the creatures chest. The other dog charged at him, he gave a small grin then held his sword like a baseball bat with the dog still on it, with all his might he swung his blade at the dog knocking both off into the distance.

Dante rested his blade back on his shoulder the turned to face Ethan, "Hey, anyone of you know where the hell I am!" he asked

Ethan jumped at Dante with his sword in hand. He made a stabbing motion.

"I don't know why we are here, but if there is a fight going on I want to be a part of it." Ethan said to Dante.

The man that Sephiroth attacked jumped in the air and shot at his head. Sephiroth raised his sword and blocked the shot. He then jumped in the air after the man and prepared to finish him.

Three of the demons lunged at Sephiroth and pulled him down. He spun in the air and knocked them all off. He then dove at the dogs and smashed the ground they were standing on killing them in the process.

Sephiroth then raised his hand in the air towards the man and used his ice magic.

Dante grabbed the other end of his blade and held it infront of him as Ethan stabbed the center of it sending Dante sliding a few inchs back "Well if your gonna be like that, fine" said Dante as made a small grin

Dante spun his large blade in his hand then made a thrust charge at Ethan.

Vergil had not noticed his brother enter the fight as he had his own fight to deal with. Vergil grabbed the sword as it came down and smashed it in his hand, he grabbed Lochlainn's leg and began to spin him around, he then let go sending him flying all the way across the arena and into a wall.

Vergil turned his attention towords Sephiroth.

Alex had heard that some of his friends were in danger, as he ran to the arena he was confronted by several monsters that were easy to dispose of. Once inside the arena he saw the large battle commensing. In one area he saw sephiroth and Alex decided to make an entrance. From the top of his lungs he commanded his Zangetsu "GESTUGA TENSHOU" The enormous attack of black light plummeted towards Sephiroth.

Sephiroth heard the shout of an attack name. He knew what that meant. He turned around and saw a blinding black light racing towards him.

Sephiroth swung his sword with all his might and cut the attack in half. His left hand, the hand holding the sword, was severely burned from the attack.

Ethan jumped away from Dante and thrusted as well. Both swords clashed. Ethan knocked away Dante's sword, but in the process his sword was knocked away.

Ethan pulled out his pistols and fired at Dante.

Alex followed immidiatly behind the the black light leaving almost no room for a counter attack. Judging from that blast he had about 2 - 3 shots left and he needed to be careful with them. At close range Alex launched a furry of powerful swings from all different directions trying to gain the offensive and knock Sephiroth off balance.

Sephiroth easily blocked Alex's attacks. Sephiroth leaped into the air and immediately slammed down on the ground. The ground was cracked. He then lunged at Alex after the slam and lunged at him.

Sephiroth's sword was much longer than Alex's which gave him the edge in range.

Before Sephiroth reached Alex he summoned lightning from the sky and shot it at him as well.

Alex could see that Sephiroth was trying to use range as his advantage but Alex used Zangetsu to knock his sword up into the lightning. If Sephiroth was as smart as he beleived then Sephiroth would either send the handle into the ground and use the sword as a lightning rod or take the lightning attack's damage. Either way Alex launched himself to the left and charged at Sephiroth again.

Dante saw as Ethan charged back at him with an attack that sent both their blades flying out of their hands. Dante saw as Ethan pulled out two guns and fired them. Dante pulled out Ebony and Ivory and returned fire at Ethan.

The bullits hit each other in mid-air causing sparks o appear.

Vergil saw the newcomer attack Sephiroth with awmazing speed. vergil ran towards the fight and jumped in the air behind Sephiroth for a supprise attack.

Sephiroth continued to charge towards where Alex was. Sephiroth jumped in the air and let the lightning hit his sword at full force. Sephiroth then raised his own sword and shot the lightning at Alex.

He then threw his sword, the Masamune, at Vergil and used his ice magic. The long sword was racing towards Vergil with a trail of ice forming behind it.

Ethan continued to trade shots with Dante. He ran sideways with Dante following him. Ethan saw that he was close to the destroyed ship's remains. He jumped into the wreckage and remote controlled his bike, Fenrir.

Fenrir headed towards Dante along with a bunch of the hellhounds behind it.

Alex dodged the lightning then launched another attack at Sephiroth since he was in the air. "Gestuga Tenshou." As the wave of deadly black light charged at Sephiroth, Alex flew under him and shot up into the air setting his strike for just after the light hit Sephiroth.

Sephiroth dove down to intercept Alex. He grabbed him and then his wing appeared on his right shoulder. He flew the two of them up and he threw Alex at the getsuga.

Sephiroth then used his ice magic again and shot ice spears at Alex while he flew towards the black light.

"You were a fool to challenge me." Sephiroth proclaimed.

Alex shoved Zangetsu into the black light and the energy was absorbed into Zangetsu. He turned around, activated an anti gravity generator on his belt and blocked all the ice spears with Zangetsu's flat side. The antigrav belt was unstable so Alex had to be careful. He flew up towards Sephiroth and connected blades. While they were at the close proximity Alex let another attack fly "Getsuga Tenshou.".

Sephiroth's left hand was already wounded by the first getsuga. He blocked the attack at point blank, but the power was overwhelming.

Sephiroth could not contain the attack much longer. He raised his right arm and thrusted it in the light. His arm went through scarred and wounded and grabbed Zangetsu.

Sephiroth then channelled the energy from Zangetsu to himself and he swung his sword shooting his own attack at Alex. His attack ripped through the getsuga and hit Alex.

Sephiroth flew backwards and let his right arm fall to his side. His arm was severely wounded.

Thanks to the Getsuga Tenshou forcing most of the attack back Alex wasn't hurt too bad. He had a scar on his face and a gash going down from his shoulder to the bottom of his ribs. The gash wasn't very deep but it was in a VERY good spot. Zangetsu's power was low so Alex took off the cap at the bottom and inserted a battery sending Zangetsu's power level from 10% to 50%. The battery ejected and Alex put in another one, once that battery ejected Alex put in a third and put the cap back on. With this Alex had a few extra shots.

"Zangetsu, combat method 3." This meant instead of focusing the attack at a single target Zangetsu would send the next attack as a massive wave. There would be less damage but dodging would be next to impossible.

"Getsuga ..." Alex said as he launched the modified attack. Using the light to hide his movements Alex got behind Sephiroth and launched a normal attack from behind "... Tenshou!".

Sephiroth spun around expecting to counter the same broing attack, but this attack was wider and seemingly impossible to dodge. Sephiroth did not have the strength to counter or block it.

Sephiroth yet again raised his arm and then used magic to summon Bahamut.

Sephiroth flew back again.

Lochlainn picked himself up from the wall he was thrown against. He looked around for his opponent, only to find him fighting some other person. The Scotsman was quite miffed about that.

"Oh, Ah see! Jess forgot about ol' Niall, eh?" He began running towards Vergil, but was distracted by a spherical-shaped orb of ice in his path.

Though the image was distorted by the wavy shape of the ice, Lochlainn could tell that someone, or something, was in there. He peered in for a closer look, but still couldn't tell what was within. It was moving, though.

He lifted up his fist, knocking out a rhythm on the ice's surface.

Shave and a haircut...

King exhaled. He noted that he could see his breath in his cold prison.

As Sephiroth used that ice magic, the merc had placed a biotic barrier around him. He didn't expect the ice to freeze his spherical shield and encase him in frost.

He heard someone knocking on the surface. He figured he had spent enough time in there, so he reared back his fist, than punched through the surface. He stuck his head through the hole and saw his Scottish friend.

"Two bits," he said. "Help me outta here, will ya?"

The blast from Alex's sword was deflected by Bahamut. Bahamut flew low and caused a massive gust of wind all over the arena. Bahamut flew up high and prepared to fire its attack. The dragon built up energy and fired a massive blast towards the center of the arena.

Sephiroth flew up high in order to avoid the attack.

Ethan ran out of the wreckage of the ship, but was suddenly pushed back by the wind the dragon was creating. Ethan looked up and saw a giant blast heading straight for the arena. The blast came from the dragon.

Ethan jumped on his bike and drove his way towards the exit of the stadium. Ethan went at top speed, but was repelled by an invisible wall. He was thrown back.

The man who brought everyone here appeared in front of Ethan.

"Noone is allowed to leave until everyone else is dead." the man said.

The man disappeared again. Ethan looked up again and saw the blast coming closer and closer.

Alex Looked at the massive dragon "Gestuga Tenshou Final Strike." This shot under normal circumstances would use 100% of the energy but with the added battery power it would only take 75%. He sent the shot straight up through the middle of the massive dragon, He had no idea whether or not it would be a finishing blow but either way This thing was going to be in a lot of pain.

The ice attack had covered Vergil in a icy prison, he could feel as he slowly began to get weaker, his eyes closed and then his body was still. Vergil then open his eyes, they were glowing red. The power coming from him sent cracks through-out the iceberg, blue lighting started to flow around it. Just then the iceberg blewup in a icy blue lighting that could be seen from all over the arena.

Standing there was Vergil in his Devil Trigger forum, he looked towards Sephiroth then faced the demon he had summoned then let out a demonic cry that made blue lighting come down around him.

Vergil then took off in fight and charged Sephiroth.

Dante did a backflip as he saw Ethan's bike come driving in behind him. He then took out the monsters with stylish gun moves then looked back at Ethan who was driving away.

"What! Leaving already!" shouted Dante, he then turned around to see a giant energy blast "Oh....thats why"

Sephiroth saw that the man he froze had broken out. Sephiroth drew his sword again and flew towards the demon. Sephiroth knew that Bahamut's attack would kill everyone, but Sephiroth still wanted a piece of the action.

Sephiroth lunged at the demon.

With the bizarre array of attacks being flung about, the Section 9 team were content to wait it out and take pot shots at the combatants.

"Aiyah, I wish I had a bigger gun." Batou complained, holding up the carbine in his hand.

Motoko didn't bother to reply. She was busy trying to hack into her opponents cyber-brains only to discover that they lacked any cybernetic enhancements. It would appear that they would have to do it the hard way.

She linked into the Section 9 mainframe and ordered in the heavy equipment.

"Batou, a heavy weapons pod is in-bound in 5 minutes. Secure it when it arrives. Tachikoma, observe all opponents and avoid contact until I give the word."

Batou turned to the Major. "So what are you doing?"

The Major smiled as her thermo-optic camo engaged.

"I'm going to hurt the man that called me sexy." her voiced called out from nowhere.

Bahumt's attack disperesed along with the Gestuga Tenshou as Alex watched from below. He watched Sephiroth as above him Bahamut Split in half and then disappeared. With the distraction gone He charged at Sephiroth who looked in almost as bad shape as Bahamut did for the instance it was still here.

Sephiroth's blade cut deep into Vergil's chest as the two froze in air, but Vergil just started to laugh. Vergil pulled Sephiroth closer to him by sinking the blade deeper in him. "There is place for you in hell" said Vergil in his claim demonic tone.

Vergil grabbed Sephiroth's head and began to punch him sending lighting through his body with every punch, he then pulled back a powerful punch that sent Sephiroth flying towards Alex.

Vergil then pulled out the sword stuck in his chest, and launched it at Sephiroth "you forgot this!" shouted Vergil in a demonic cry.

Sephiroth was sent flying back to Alex and his Zangetsu. His sword was also heading towards him. Sephiroth used his wings to stabilize himself and he grabbed his sword before it hit him.

Sephiroth grasped his sword and flew back at Vergil. He flew at top speed and impaled Vergil with his sword. The two crashed into a wall.

Sephiroth kept Vergil pinned and used his ice magic again.

Vergil broke the ice around him. Sephiroth had impaled him with his blade aginst the wall. Vergil's Devil Trigger began to fade, and he took his human forum agin. "Well, I'll go as far to say I underestimated you" said Vergil softly as he hung on the wall.

Vergil put both Beowulf claws on Sephiroth's head, then he began to flow lighting from his body over to Sephiroth as he gripped harder.

While Vergil and Sephiroth were stuck together against a wall Alex charged up one last shot with Zangetsu. He got in close enough so that Sephiroth couldn't counter or dodge. "I'm sorry old friend ... GETSUGA TENSHOU!". The blade was pointed right at Sephiroth's head and at point blank.
