Biography: Jacob Ainsley was one of the last individuals to be implanted with the L2 biotic implant. Jacob showed a promising amount of biotic ability, however, he was also one of the unlucky individuals to be hampered by the crippling drawbacks of the L2 generation implants. He regularly suffers massive, debilitating pain all over his body as a result of his biotic implant. He has refused to even consider the possibility of an L3 retrofit, and continues to serve the Systems Alliance and the Citadel in spite of his disability.
After his biotic training, Jacob Ainsley began a relatively unremarkable military career. He was eventually stationed on the Citadel in 2184 as part of an effort by the Systems Alliance to supplement the severely weakened Citadel forces during the reconstruction process. By 2186, he was officially offered to C-Sec "on loan" along with a good majority of the Alliance troops stationed there.
Jacob was officially discharged from the Systems Alliance in 2190, after which his official application to Citadel Security was accepted and he was admitted into C-Sec's prestigious Special Response unit. Six years later, after the Geth attack the Quarian Migrant Fleet, Jacob (along with others) was transferred to the Citadel Fleet for the counter-invasion being mounted.
He has served with the Fleet ever since, through the second Geth assault on the Citadel, their brief occupation, and subsequent purge. In 2199, Jacob was assigned to the
TSF Courageous Spirit, a frigate in the Fleet assigned to patrol duty as well as special response missions.
