Alliance Military Weapons
The Alliance standard issue gear are almost entirely made by the Hahne-Kedar Co. based on earth..... {translate this page}

The Alliance standard issue gear are almost entirely made by the Hahne-Kedar Co. based on earth. Hahne-Kedar was the brainchild of Joseph Hahne and Miley Kedar, both United States Marines. After the discovery of element zero, or "eezo," the world scrambled to find new ways to use it in a variety of different fields, most of them for the "Green Movement." However, these two Marines had a different idea, and after the First Contact war, "borrowed" captured Turian technology and made the Human version in 2161.

Hahne-Kedar's weapons were quickly adopted by NATO as older, more "primitive" weapons systems (i.e., standard gunpowder weapons) were gradually phased out until only the less developed countries owned them. One interesting note is that even though most nations of Earth use eezo weapons, one weapon will not lay down and die: the AK-47 is still predominatly featured in the media, whether on a news broadcast or another cheesy Hollywood film. The weapons' outstanding reliability coupled with it's simplistic design and operation makes it a timeless classic.

This list has both pictures and descriptions of the standard and sub-standard weapons of the Human Alliance.

Standard Issue: Assault Rifle; M7 Lancer

user posted image A marine making use of the M7 Lancer

The Hahne-Kedar M7 Lancer has been the standard issue assault rifle for the Alliance Military for nearly 40 years since its birth in 2161. The Lancer was humanity's first "eezo weapon" and has been distributed across the galaxy ever since. It's chief user, though, is still the Alliance Military. Updated versions are still in production, as the M7A4. The Lancer is known for its accuracy, as are most of Hahne-Kedar's weapons. However, the computer systems, even on the updated versions, are still behind their Turian counterparts, and not as advance. Consequently, the slugs produced, even at their maximum size and FPS cannot match those of Turian design. Even still, it remains a formidable weapon, and what it lacks in firepower, it makes up for in, again, accuracy. These can be modified with a variety of upgrades, such as digital read outs, scopes, recoil dampeners, combat sensors, etc.

Standard Issue: Sidearm; M18 Kessler

user posted image A Marine with the M18 Kessler

The M18 Kessler is the standard issue sidearm of the Alliance Military and has been for the past 20 years. It replaced the trusty M2165 Stinger in 2180 despite much controversy. This pistol was warmly recieved by new members of the Alliance; they enjoyed having a high-tech, brand spankin' new and pretty pistol they could call their own. However, veterans disliked the new pistol. Although it was more modern than the Stinger, could fire more slugs before overheating, and was smaller and lighter, it had a smaller slug capability, lowering its stopping power. However, it has been proven to be a very capable pistol. Plans are in the works to replace this pistol. These can be modified with a variety of upgrades, such as digital read outs, recoil dampeners, combat sensors, etc.

Substandard: Sidearm; M2165 Stinger

The Devlon Industries M2165 Stinger pistol was the former service pistol of the Alliance Military, having since been replaced by the M18 Kessler by Hahne-Kedar. The M2165 entered service in, you guessed it, 2165. Before then, Hahne-Kedar was the process of making a sidearm for the military, but was pressured to create shotgun and sniper rifle variants of their famous M7 Lancer. The Alliance just issued the NATO Heckler-Koch USP .45 semi-automatic "gunpower pistol" to soldiers. This was chaos; bullets were starting to become rare as newer technologies rendered them obsolete. Devlon Industries, a foreign company, arrived to save the day. They developed the Stinger for the Alliance, and the weapon was warmly recieved. Although it has now been "decommissioned," it is still in wide use throughout not only the Alliance military, but the entire galaxy. It is one of the most famous pistols in the Milky Way. These can be modified with a variety of upgrades, such as digital read outs, recoil dampeners, combat sensors, etc.

Standard Issue: Sniper Rifle; M48 Avenger

user posted image A Marine with the Avenger

The Hahne-Kedar Avenger is the first of the Hahne-Kedar line with a Turian-classed computer system, albeit outdated. Hahne-Kedar has built apon the original to create a weapon with a larger slug capability than the Lancer. This weapon was based off of Turian technology, unlike the Lancer, whose computer systems were completly man-made (the idea of the "eezo rifle" as it was called came from the Turians, however the humans decided to make their own computer systems to make it their own). Even the newer Lancers do not have the slug capability of the Avenger, because when Hahne-Kedar was going to upgrade the Lancer's systems to Turian level, the Skyllian Blitz as well as the events of 2183 occured. As far as the M48 itself, it is the standard rifle for the military, though the Marines sometimes use the next rifle for bigger targets or longer ranges. The Avenger entered service in 2164. These can be modified with a variety of upgrades, such as digital read outs, scopes, recoil dampeners, combat sensors, etc.

Substandard: Sniper Rifle; M214 Naginata LR

[No Picture]

The Arikae Tech M214 Naginata Long Range sniper rifle is a favorite of many Marines, especially in the special forces. This is the result of a competition between Arikae Tech and Hahne-Kedar for a long-range (3+ miles), large slug capable sniper rifle. Hahne-Kedar tried for a highly modified M48, but lost out to the M214 in the long run. The Naginata entered service in 2172. Arikae is famous for its computer systems and omni-tools, and so it shows in the design of the Naginata. It has one of the most sophisticated computer systems in the galaxy. Arikae Tech is the 5th largest defense contractor in the galaxy, which is saying alot for humanity, as Arikae is a human company. This rifle has the largest slug capability of all the Alliance weapons, which makes it perfect for disabling vehicles and mobile armor. These can be modified with a variety of upgrades, such as digital read outs, scopes, recoil dampeners, combat sensors, etc.

Standard Issue: Shotgun; M342 Storm CQB

user posted image A Allied Quarian with a Storm shotgun

The M342 Storm Close Quarter Battle (also: Close Quarter Combat) is a relativley normal shotgun used by the Alliance, made of-course by Hahne-Kedar. This was the second weapon after the Lancer made by H-K and utilized the same systems as the Lancer did. The Storm entered service in 2163. These can be modified with a variety of upgrades, such as digital read outs, scopes, recoil dampeners, combat sensors, etc.

Standard Issue: Grenade; M126 Fragmentation Grenade System

[No Picture]

The M136 system scores extremely high marks for innovation; they are the first disc-like grenades in the galaxy, made by Arikae Technology. These grenades are part of a system. The disk contains explosives within the middle of it. These are set for a 10 second timer. However, it can be detonated prematurely by a button on the wrist, also part of the grenade system. These grenades can latch onto flat surfaces, and can be modified for more devastating effects. The M126 system entered service in 2166.

Standard Issue: Omni-Tool; M537 Logic Arrest Omni-Tool System

user posted image An Allied Turian hacking a Geth Armature on Calastin

The Logic Arrest Omni-Tool System by Arikae Tech is the new, current standard issue omni-tool of the entire Alliance Military in addition to the Combat Engineers. These handy tools are the laptops of the modern day, though on a much higher level. Not only can these access the extranet, but can anything 21st century computers could do as well as "minifacture" items, upgrade and repair weapons/items of the field, hack, be used as a recorder, radio, etc, as if all of those had been put into one. The Logic Arrest system entered service "officially" in 2199.

Substandard: Omni-Tool; M123 BlueWire Omni-Tool System

The BlueWire Omni-Tool System by Aldrin Labs was the standard issue omni-tool of the Alliance Combat Engineers. These handy tools are the laptops of the modern day, though on a much higher level. Not only can these access the extranet, but can anything 21st century computers could do as well as "minifacture" items, hack, upgrade and repair weapons/items of the field, be used as a recorder, radio, etc, as if all of those had been put into one. The BlueWire is a pretty standard omni-tool, though they are being supplanted in service by the Logic Arrest. The M123 system entered service in 2165.
