Yankee6X - July 2, 2008 01:59 AM (GMT)
Name:The 808
Race Design(s): Human Design
Complete Armament:
1x Rapid Fire Cannon (Mounted just aft of the front gear)
1x Human Designed VI, Codenamed "Bob"
Description(appearance):
The 808, being human designed took a great deal of inspiration from the now obsolete and all but forgotten SR-71 Blackbird fighters from the 20th century. While the 808 bears swivel engines, much like an also long-since defunct design of the V-22 Osprey, is able to hover, manoeuver quickly, and also lock into position so as to maximise speed, which then uses the thrusters on the flaps of the wings.
Biography(If necessary):
The 808 was a prototype two-man fighter vessel in production around 2140. However, it was considered obsolete by a rival company's production. The 808 sat in a military warehouse for many, many years unused. However, Terren Moursun came across the vessel when aiding an Alliance defense post. For Moursun's efforts in the battle, the Base Commander gave the 808 to him. Since then, Terren and "Bob", the VI onboard, had worked well together.
"Bob" is a simple joke placed upon the VI when making the ship. Simple enough, 808 has a resemblance to BOB - hence the birth of the VI's codename.

This is like a suped-up SR-71 Blackbird. Nice.
EDIT: I just read it was based off the Blackbird. I have a great eye for planes.
