The metallic corridor of the ship seemed to hum as Ethan marched quickly to his destination, the hallways were darkened except for the emergency lights that were given off due to the conflict that was brewing. The power had been cut down to essential systems in order to perform the tactical ploy of “playing dead”. There could be many reasons for this but either way Ethan was part of the staff and he didn’t even know what was really going on. Ethan was unnerved by the situation since the only reasonable explanation is that they were under a surprise attack. Grinding his teeth he concluded that whatever the reason he should have been the first few even called for the emergency but right now he was working on initiative not orders. The biotic had made his way to one of the junctions near the engineering section of the Alliance Dreadnaught class ship when the boarding started.

Ethan was only aware of the boarding as soon as he seen the hail of a firefight at the end of the corridor. Continuing his march to the end of the hallway he peaked out ever so slightly on both sides of the connecting path, on one side where a handful of engineers who had armed themselves from a nearby armoury, their grim expressions showed that they weren’t expecting to win this one. On the other side showed the ever expressionless light of the Geth, just troopers but enough of them to demoralize the defenders. Ethan without thought thrown himself to the wall and unholstered his pistol in perfect military efficiency, in one motion he revealed his presence to both sides.

They all seemed a bit relieved they had someone else along but he could tell they didn’t think it would make much difference in this fight ‘If only they knew’ Ethan thought satisfyingly to himself with a small smirk. The Geth were making a slow but assured run toward the engineering section using a constant cover of fire, and the engineers weren’t soldier so their numbers were dwindling. ‘better make my move now or else they won’t hold this place’ Ethan jumped to the other side of the connected corridor through the hail of bullets and unleashed a devastating blast of biotic energy on the advancing troopers, with a ripple of distorting energy the Geth where thrown backwards there was a quick cheer from the engineers as they blasted on the grounded Geth.

That was only one of many battles going on along the ship, Ethan determined he had to make a quick estimation of what was going on, gather information then continue his way to find the captain of The Desolate. Marching smoothly over to the remaining bloodied engineers Ethan halted them and then demanded coldly “Status Report” A bald man holding a shotgun straightened his back and then answered immediately “Geth surprise attack with an EMP burst explosion on our left flank, almost took out all systems if it weren’t for quick work from our engineers at the core…” Ethan with a furrowed brow had to ask out of curiosity “EMP bursts don’t particularly effect anything due to redundancies…how?” the engineer looked quizzically at the others ‘time is being wasted here’ Ethan thought to himself. After the short pause for thought the balding engineer replied hesitantly “I think the only real way is to get within the hull with a payload of them and let them off but I have no real clue how they’d accomplish the deed.” Then with accompanying orders of patrolling the hallways further on Ethan made his way to one of the central Elevators to get to the command room.

The elevator stopped at the 8th level of the ship which was only two levels away from the command hub, Ethan could here the cries of battle in the distance. None of the Geth had made its way that far into the ship but from the sounds of it Ethan had guessed that the Alliance soldiers where putting up a good fight. Making his way to the manual walkway to the next level he caught a shadowy glimpse of a trembling form in the corner of the immediate room. The man was a young male soldier in his mid twenties with a good build and sandy blonde hair, the soldier cradled his rifle at ready but was obviously hiding. “What are you doing here soldier” Ethan asked with anger in his voice, the kid only straightened to attention and replied vehemently “I’m not going back out there sir…they ripped my friends apart, I won’t be next.” ‘coward, men are dying in his place out there’ Ethan thought to himself, with a little consideration he looked at his options. With a few words of encouragement he could be persuaded back to the frontline and maybe make a difference or he could be punished for an act worth charges of treason by military standards. All that came to Ethan’s mind was ‘good men die because of cowards…unacceptable’ and then following his mindset Ethan raised his pistol to the mans head then immediately shot him over his yelp of surprise “Worthless”
