Delta Team Curt - January 17, 2008 09:36 PM (GMT)
The United States Marines trace their origins back to the foundations of the country they serve. Their primary objectives were to serve on American military ships. They would serve their country well, participating in every American war in history. In 2120 the Marine Corps would be expanded to 900,000 in order to maintain dominance in American colonies. Marine outposts could be found on every planet in the Solar System.
They would be integrated into the Systems Alliance in 2150 as the main military force in the solar system, while the Systems Alliance would be the main force in extra-solar human colonies. The force would be shrunk down to about 300,000 with the expansion of the Systems Alliance.
Unlike most military forces, the Marines would maintain there technology and replace it similar technology. With the advent of the new generation of ammunition, what is in use today. Marine forces would switch to FMJ Caseless Ammunition. New age uniform designs were integrated and put into the CMDU, Classic Marine Dress Uniform. The Marines Corp. does not embrace biotics, only one exception is made for Special Forces units.
The Marines forces today are deployed in solar system usually, with only a few units placed on and around Systems Alliance ships and positions.

Marine Corps Stances:
The United States Marine Corps feel that Humanity is loosing track of its history. They decide in 2160 to start instituting new technology in the likeness of 20th century technology. Instead of the normal ammunition, they use the FMJ Caseless Round. They believe that the bullet is much more lethal, is more effective, and that it offers many benefits over the “Block” ammunition. The Classic Marine Dress Uniform incorporates new technology and armor to give Marines a scene of their past.
Classic Marine Dress Uniform:

The CMDU is the culmination of mass produced military armor. It is exceptionally strong and the armor around the vital organs is all but impenetrable by small arms fire. Tests show that it can withstand multiple assault rifle hits without much damage, and almost all pistol shots. It features an advanced electronics suite, featuring radios, MILSTAR Uplink, Medi-Gel automated recovery, cameras, and sensors.
M43 Assault Rifle:

Similar to the M4 of the 20th century, its insides are completely different. Its magazine holds 65 bullets, double the 32 of past days. Its barrel is extended due to the reduction in size of the firing mechanisms. Its size and weight are a surprise to non-marine soldiers who use the weapon, but they say the power and impact are unmatched.
M808 Mobile Armored Vehicle

The M808 was introduced in 2120 as a mobile armored platform. It is able to be modified to fit a variety of weapon systems. Configurations include: Artillery (Above), Gatling Gun (Above), Mobile LADAR system, Communications Jammer, Pulse Laser, Tank, etc.
Most units are maintained and repaired often to keep them in working order. During an assault, these platforms could prove invaluable.
M906 Squad Automatic Support Weapon (SASW)

The SASW is the new version of what would be a 20th century SAW. It has a 500 round magazine and offers a 800 rpm rate of fire.

Tact Teams / ACA :

Tactical Teams are the Marines answer to special forces. They consist of some of the most highly trained soldiers in the entire Human Sphere. They wear ACA, or Advanced Combat Armor. The suits design enhances a few aspects of the user. The leg braces allow for the user to fall from higher distances, as well as jump about 3 feet higher than normal. The armor provides standard protection from small arms. The hard panels are layered with a nano-tech fabric that allows the panel to take the basic color of its surroundings. The MUMC, multiuse/multichamber, weapon offers 5 different barrels for special ammunition.

M1A7 Abrams Main Battle Tank:

The M1 Abrams is one of the oldest weapons in the Marines arsenal. Over 200+ years old these tanks have been upgraded many times, and even put into storage once. The A7 features many vital upgrades to keep it worthy of the front lines. The M1A4 would introduce the Hydrogen Fuel Cell engine, in the A7 features the first Hydrogen Core. Now an Abrams can run for 3 years without refueling. Due to the increased space from the nonexistent engine block from the 20th century, the crew cabin was expanded. Its weapon uses a variety of ammunition to achieve its purpose. All Tanks are repaired at Anniston Army Depot on Earth.

USMC M65 Sniper Rifle:

The best sniper rifle the USMC has. It is a 60 year old model, but has proved so effective in combat that it has not been replaced. It uses a larger round than its predecessors, the .60 caliber round. Its ammunition can vary from explosive rounds, to tranquilizers

AV-14 Falcon

The Falcon is one of the last surviving Marine aerial vehicles. It can carry a four man squad on its 'wings' and has room for a single pilot. Hard points on the craft allow for mounting of firepower, cargo, etc. Two 50 caliber machine guns allow for percise, heavy fire power. Two homing missile launchers make this a great anti vehicle weapon.

The current shotgun used by the USMC, it uses a large 8 gauge shell. The reason for the shell size is that is intended to be able to destroy equipment and other rip through sheilds. It is highly effective and able to hit a target from 50 to 75 yards.
