In days gone by, Countries of Earth felt a need to keep an eye on each other through use of agencys like MI6, CIA, and KGB. With humanities induction into the wider galatic community, this practice stopped somewhat. However, the Stealth and Tactical Reconnasance Intelligence For Earth (STRIFE) has been set up to gather intelligence on criminal movements, and in times of war, to preform reconnasance on enemies. They have license to disrupt gangs and criminal organisations, but are not given licenses to kill, except in exceptional circumstances.

Essentially the elite of the Systems Alliance, STRIFE agents have postings in most major colonies of Citadel Space. STRIFE has access to prototype and experimental technology, although only veterans get assigned this equipment.

However, the organisation does have a few downsides. The selectness of it's recruitment leaves the record maximum number of recruits at 30 people. Today, it's 15. This means STRIFE cannot be everywhere at once. But where they are, they provide a constant stream of information and crime prevention.
