The Independence

Background:
Built in 2185, this proud ship has sailed the seas for 14 years. It was built in the Kosovo shipyard. It was the only shipyard in Sol that could actually create the Hull of the Radiance. The ship is furnished from keel to Bow to Stern with the finest decor money can buy. The ship can carry over 3000 passengers and 930 Crew, making it one of the largest ships in the Galaxy.
Parts of Interest:
- The Atrium
A huge open area located near the center of the ship. It features 10 floors of shops, restaurants, bars, and other shops. A set of 25 glass elevators usher people floor to floor with a magnificent view. Covering the Atrium is a large glass ceiling, allowing passengers to stare into the heavens on their luxury cruise. The floor at the bottom of the atrium is a large ice skating rink, allowing passengers a place to relax and play. The entire area is lit according to the hour, at night a warm glow lights the area, while cheerful bright lights bathe the Atrium in sunlight in the afternoon.
- Waterpark
A huge water park is stationed near the stern of the ship. It features a multitude of pools along the water park. The pools vary in depth, from Olympic size pools, to shallow wading pools. The water slides are amazing, twisting and turning to create a wild ride*. There are many to incorporate all sorts of tastes, The Peak is the tallest, weaving, and fastest slide on the ship.
*Water slides are recommended for humanoid races, large races will not fit in the normal slides
- Whiteout
One of the most interesting things to do on the ship, alpine skiing. This 'ski resort' contains 5 runs, all of which can be changed several times a day from Double Diamond, to a bunny hill. Artificial snow is pumped out early in the morning and the entire area is chilled. Snowboarding and Skiing the slopes are a must do if you come aboard the Independence.
- Cabins
All the cabins aboard the ship are spacious and luxurious. The regular rooms incorporate an office, bedroom, closet, and bathroom. The two standard twin beds in the room can be pulled together into a queen sized bed. In the suites, there are two rooms, a balcony, kitchen, and a small den. All cabins come with a computer and a large screen monitor/TV. The Balconies in the suites are a room with a large window made of high strength polymers.
- Cantilevered whirlpools
A couple of Jacuzzis that are positioned extending over the sides of the ship. They are positioned so that passengers can see out into space, a large window allowing this. They run all day and the area is lit with a warm soft light.
- Gymnasiums
3 Gyms on the ship offer the best fitness programs and equipment found in the galaxy. Trainers can help you to loose a few pounds, or tone up. Holographic chambers proved martial arts training to the learners or hardcore fighters.
- Observation Deck
A large hallway that runs along the outside of the 10th deck, it gives you a great view of space. It is also great to use as a jogging track as the hallway is almost 3 miles long all around.
- Golf Course
A full size golf course aboard the ship. It takes up a major portion of the 2nd deck, but it is worth it. A holographic sky creates the perfect play time 24/7. Play a round or two!
- Medical Bay
A highly advanced facility aboard the ship, it contains some of the best doctors from around the galaxy. It is equipped to provide treatment for almost any condition, but it is rarely used. Their motto "Better to be prepared than loose a fellow person"
- Casino Royale
A large Casino, here you can play and bet agianst some of the galaxies highest rollers. If you can beat the odds, you could become a millionaire in one night!
- Void
A hot night club aboard the ship, its speakers pump popular music, its floors filed with dancers, and plenty of drinks at the bar. Considered one of the best night clubs in the Galaxy, it is visited by many a celebrity.
- Dinning Hall
A beautiful dining hall on the ship comprised of 3 floors. A huge atrium takes up the right side of the hall, the overhang increasing with the floors. The 'River' is one of the most unique parts of the ship, starting on the top floor of the hall, over a waterfall into the first floor and winds through the bottom floor. Small bridges allow for easy walking through the area. It is only open at night for Dinner. Several large windows allow diners to stare out into space and enjoy the view.
- The Buffet
A huge buffet area one the ship, this is where breakfast and lunch are served. Many tables are set up for those who want to eat with friends, but you are welcome to bring your food out of the buffet. Windows allow people in the Buffet to see out into space.

- Decks below 40 and parts of 35-40 make up the Engineering sections of the ship.
