Title: A Cryptic Message

Maximus - January 27, 2008 02:01 AM (GMT)
The transmission console flickered to life. The Geth working near it didn't so much as glance in its direction; it wasn't apart of their job. Despite the ship being filled with about a hundred Geth, it was completely silent, save for the occasional click or beep. The gargantuan ship, called Ares, required little maintenance. It was as if the ship manned itself. There was a command beacon in its core, but it wasn't used with a full crew controlling the ship.

The door to Ares' intricately designed bridge opened, and a raven-haired man emerged. His hair covered almost half of his face, but they could not conceal that gleaming red lights that were his eyes. They were synthetic replacements of his real eyes, which he had lost in a fight with a pillager.

He walked the raised path to the transmission console, which had glowing blue lights around it. They were almost mystical, but also dead-solid concrete. A bit like some ancient machine of sorts. When he got to the console on a platform in the center of the bridge, the man tapped down on the holographic console, and an incoherent message streamed through.

"Dis... Discoverer... of... ship..." it said. The voice was chillingly rigid.

The human replied in an equally mechanical voice. "Isaac Lombard... Why have you contacted this ship?"

"I... My ship... Geth..."

The man named Lombard was silent, patiently waiting for the connection to strengthen.

"Your Geth... Your servants... Help us... Bring us..." The voice stopped for a moment, then started speaking again. "Revive me. Start... Terminus System."

The connection shut off. Isaac looked up, into the space behind the window in front of him. "Set a course for the Terminus System... to your homeworld."

The ship sped up, its thrusters boosting it towards the nearest Mass Relay.
