Description(appearance): Dark blue luster

Biography: Built with latest mass effect technologies on earth by the Rafflesia Corporation.

The Diomedes is a controversial experimental ship in the later prototype stages. Considered by many as an answer to Raytheon Corporation's succesful 'kitchen sink' ship, the Albatross, it has many of the amenities of a private travel ship while containing highly advanced defense technologies targeted at stealth.

Perhaps it's most intriguing aspects AND most controversial (as if making a cutting edge stealth ship appeal to the public sector wasn't enough) are it's attempts at organic intelligence and repair systems called Phoenix. Rafflesia insiders call Phoenix their 'silver bullet' above the competition.

Built completely with carbon based 'orgo-metals' the ships Phoenix system is designed to 'grow back it's wings' as one marketer explained to investors. While this is considered an exaggeration, the ship can indeed use a special carbon 'fuel' mixture to repair damaged parts on the ship. Implicit in this are a slew of heavely contested topics.

--The ships intelligence system calls upon the blueprints of loaded part data to repair damaged portions of the ship. But the system packs enough technical power to grow any conceived 'orgo-metal' part out of existing parts.

--Though the system is only loaded with existing part data, (with others available for purchase) it is no leap of the imagination that any sort of exotic part data could be hacked onto the system given enough effort. The rushed release date for the Diomedes has many insiders worried safety and quality precautions will be underdeveloped.

--A bigger crowd fears an economic catastrophe as Rafflesia's new golden child technology will no longer require manufactured parts.

--Yet others view this as an unnecessary technology, with barrior shields and emergency navigation programming preventing most space accidents from occuring.

--Many argue just who the product is intended for, the defence alliance or any Joe Shmoe with an extra billion.

Rafflesia's motto is that the Phoenix repair utilities are a logical addition to an organic intelligence system... It's obvious to many this new rush of 'war ships for the public' are no doubt for exploration of the Terminus systems.
