Title: Tatooaria VR
Description: Test to join STRIFE

Athena - February 4, 2008 12:55 AM (GMT)
Neovgre stepped out onto the docking bay, looking around at everything and taking in the sights. It was... not what she expected. When the words 'villainy and corruption' were what Edward had used to describe it, she had assumed it would be a gigantic, disgusting cesspool of a world. That was far from the case.

The docking bay was exceptionally well taken care of, and it seemed to be rather... normal. On the outside it looked no different from what she had believed a normal docking bay to look like. She reasoned then, that the villains were intelligent, and making the whole area look terrible was going to bring the unwanted attention of the righteous.

She walked down the docks, feeling the cold of the deck against her, effectively, bare feet. Luckily, her clothing was not bloodstained, as it was outside of the VR machine, so she seemed a little less obvious. Still, she knew that she was not only a wholly unique being, but she was also 7'0" and was wearing clothing not normally worn in this day and age. She also carried a sword, no firearm, and only had a few packs of medigel in a small pouch on her thigh.

However... her hearing wasn't too bad, especially considering that she had no visible ears. Also, while her eyes were glowing, nobody would know exactly where she was looking, for her pupils were hidden in the glare. Her face was practically unreadable, for she had nothing, aside from her glowing eyes, to give away her emotions. She would have to be careful still; her eyes could still give her away.

As she walked down the dock, Edward following her invisibly behind, she caught sight of two very distinct creatures. Krogans were massive, and they had rather large humps on their back for storing nutrients. Physical prowess was their forte, and at the moment, there were two of them blocking her continued passage down the docks.

"You, whatever you are, this is your ship, right?" the one on the right asked her.

'Crap... did Edward come here in his own ship, or was he dropped off and they left?' Neovgre thought, though she said what came first to her mind "It might be... is that a... problem?"

"No, not at all." the one on the left said, moving from his resting spot against the wall "It lets us know who's in charge of paying the docking fee."

Neovgre cocked her head to the side, obviously confused.

"Docking fee? I was... under the impression that... docking was free."

"Well, you were wrong." the one on the left said again, thumbing his shotgun "So, you gonna pay, or do want to risk something bad happening to you?"

"But I... have no credits." Neovgre attempted to explain "I just entered... this sector... and-"

"I don't care much for your story. Fact is, you don't have credits, and you decided to dock here anyway." the one on the right said, placing a strong hand on his shotgun "Way I see it, you need to learn a little lesson in listening to us."

'Oh no...' Neovgre thought as the two krogans detached their shotguns from their suits '...if I harm them... that'll draw attention to me!'

Still, she was prepared to draw her sword, however futile her battle might have been.

"Hold up you two." a human's voice said from behind the krogans, and the two stopped what they were doing on the man's call "There's no need for a 'cargo accident' here. It's much too safe for that."

Neovgre saw the man, a human dressed rather well in clearly council-worthy clothes, and her gut instinct told her that he was one that very few decided to mess with. The way he was eying her from between the Krogan's was also quite unsettling.

"Well, now, what an interesting being we have here." the man said, a hand on his chin with the other one crossed "I believe this would be the first time someone of your species has been to this planet."

'Oh no! I don't have a race!' she thought, so once again, she went with her first instinct, which gave her the appearance of looking downcast "Indeed... my people normally... never leave their system. I... am not here of my... own desires."

"Is that so..." the man said, a brief twinkle in his eye before he looked as if he was able to commiserate with her "Well, that being the case, why don't you follow me. I'm sure I can find something to make you feel... more at home here."

Neovgre tried her damnedest to read the man's face, but it was too difficult to do without looking obvious. She did notice several people behind the man, looking at her from a distance ever so subtly while appearing to go about standard business here at the docks. Their weapons gave them away though, as even the pistols looked to be heavily upgraded.

"I would... enjoy that greatly." Neovgre replied, giving a very realistic eye-smile to the seemingly unknowing human.

'I guess being an 'unknown alien' has it's pluses.' Neovgre thought before following the man 'I can always feign ignorance of other cultures.'

Edward nodded, impressed. He remembered those two krogans. He personally had paid the fee, so as to avoid trouble. Neovgre had handeled herself well so far though. Full marks, at the moment.

Neovgre was surprised at how well armed the 'civilians seemed, at least some of them anyway. Numerous 'guards' seemed to be more like well armed mercs, and it was quite clear that they were watching her. Then again, being 7ft tall with glowing eyes, scales, and tendrils or hair that was almost down to her rear was going to garner the attention of most anyone. It might work to her advantage though; she was so obvious that nobody would consider her a threat.

Still, she had to be careful; even an 'alien who is unexperienced with other cultures beyond it's own' can get in way over their head. As the man she was following led her into a building, she began to believe that maybe she was going in over her head. Still, if she suddenly grew an awareness, people would become suspicious. It was best to play into whatever they had planned first.

As she stepped through the automatic door, she was greeted by a rather disheveled turian and a rather large human, both armed to the teeth. She naturally glanced at them, but most anyone who wasn't expecting them would do so as well. She continued to follow the man, noticing that there was an ever increasing number of guards in the vicinity, of every race and type imaginable. The sound of a gun being drawn froze her in her tracks, and glancing over her shoulder, her eyes wide, she saw one of the guards with a shotgun aimed right at her.

"Well, it's clear that not all sentient species are what we'd consider 'intelligent'." the man she had followed said, turning to face her as she looked back at him "No matter, it's not your mind that people will be willing to pay for."

"Pay for... what do you... mean?" she managed, feigning confusion despite knowing exactly what was going on.

"I don't think you'll need to worry about that. Now, be a good little alien and let the guards have your weapons."

Neovgre placed a hand on her blade, hearing the clicks of numerous rifles the moment she did so.

"I will not... let anyone... take my weapon... again." she said, her voice firm.

It was a risk... but would it pay off? Apparently, her reaction brought a smirk to the man's face.

"Really now? What do you think you'd do to us? Even with armor, biotics, and a firearm, you'd be finished in mere moments. What could you do with a mere sword?"

Neovgre's thoughts were racing, but she knew what the man wanted, and she could give him a much better deal.

"My own... have betrayed me... I can... provide you with many more... like me." she said, still not moving an inch.

"Willing to give up your whole race to save yourself? How dishonorable of you." the man taunted with a chuckle "I'll just have to break you first, then I'll..."

The sound of metal against metal was clear as Neovgre slowly drew her blade, forcing the many guards around her to catch her in their sights. Though she was smiling on the inside, she was as serious as ever as she slowly aimed the point of the blade upwards, directly under her chin. The man in front of her lost his smile in a moment.

"I will... not let anyone... else control... my destiny. I will never... be broken." she stated calmly, her eyes glowing intensely with her emotion.

A stagnant silence befell the room, and it was only after a minute that anyone dared to either move or speak. In this case, it was both.

"Well now, you must be the black sheep of your kind then." the man said, stepping closer to Neovgre, which was a fairly dangerous risk "I guess breaking you wouldn't be in my best interest. Well then, put up the blade and follow me. I get the feeling that we have much to discuss."

He motioned for the guards to put up their weapons, and they had done so in mere moments. Cautiously, Neovgre put her own blade away as the man motioned for her to follow once more. Her bluff had worked, it seemed, but she couldn't help but notice that two of the guards had begun to follow her.

Edward was impressed, not only by Neovgre's handling of difficult situations, but at the System's ability to compensate for changes. Of course, he had appeared to be a run of the mill human, so not much attention was paid to him. He wondered what the sim would throw up next...

Neovgre felt somewhat more at ease now, though it was not by much. The man seemed more trusting of her, but it couldn't have been by that much either. Still, he didn't seem to be taking her to a 'dungeon' or what not, though the guards behind her were rather unnerving. They were both Turians, and she knew how militaristic and well trained each and every one of them was.

'Come to think of it, I can't be more than '7 hours old' at best... how do I know these things?' she thought for a moment as she was ushered into a rather comfortable looking room.

She took a seat on the opposite end of a desk, and she found that it actually fit her rather comfortably. She watched as the man sat on the proper side of the desk. The guards flanked her on either side, though they maintained a comfortable distance.

"So, feel like telling me about the planet of yours." the man asked, smiling in a rather 'normal' manner.

"No... if I... tell you about it... then I become... expendable." Neovgre said, watching the man's expression all the while.

"You're not as stupid as I first thought..." the man said, leaning back in his chair "Very well, you'll be staying here until I can get matters taken care of to travel to your world. I would suggest that you stay in the room unless we let you out."

"So you are to imprison me anyway?" she asked, feigning irritation.

"No, I'm not imprisoning you. You can leave if you wish." the man said with a coy smile "I just don't suggest wandering around here; I might not be around to save you like with the krogan's at the dock."

The insinuation was understood, 'yes, we'll kill you if you try to leave.'

"I shall heed your words then... um, wait, who are you?" Neovgre asked, listening carefully.

"Ah, where are my manners, you may call me Richard." the man said "I take it you have one too?"

Neovgre 'hmph'ed.

"I am Oynetu." she replied in an instant 'How did I come up with that name?'

"Well Oynetu, these guards will take you to your quarters. I suggest you follow them." the man said, motioning for the guards to take her away.

She stood as the guards came over, and she glanced back at the man's desk for a moment before turning her head. Her eyes caught the hilt of a small dagger. On the hilt was a name, 'Zelenski'.

'That must be his surname...' she thought as she was lead to her quarters 'Well, given what I see here, and what has happened, he must be connected to something big... definitely including slavery.'

Edward was very surprised by this development.

He sat down opposite Neovgre

"Just to let you know, this is new to me as well. You appear to be de-railing the sim, so I have no idea what will happen next. Goodluck."
