Description: from Citadel Siege

((OOC: no one has to respond to this, but if they do that's cool. And if this has any affect on the Siege, that'd be interesting but it doesn't have to since I didn't sit down with anyone and ask if this would be appropriate or not... though the nanotechnology was approved with my character when it was created.))
*note, had to change Judecca's name to ____ (blank) because Judecca was destroyed and I have yet to make up a new name for the setting of the solo RP. So, unless someone's got an idea I'll make up a new name for the city Olivia is entering in a few days.
A stolen Alliance medical ship appeared on ____'s horizon and descended behind a ridgeline. It had left the chaos of the Citadel and emerged deep in enemy territory. Olivia had made this run before. Coupled with the fact the bulk of the Geth fleet was now fighting at the Citadel, Olivia felt a false sense of security. Being a pessimist by nature, her only thought as they landed on the outskirts of _____ was: how long till this goes horribly wrong?
Everyone was suited up. 6 set out on foot, while one stayed behind to pilot the ship. Olivia had her sniper rifle, pistol, and grenades. It's was all she ever needed for missions like this. Each weapon was designed specifically for synthetics. Again, more false security.
The city ahead wasn't like any human city. It was designed by AI, and for this reason nothing about it looked human or organic. Roads really didn't look like roads, and hallways didn't really look like hallways. It was cold and full of unseen self-aware enigmas. Machines, for all intents and purposes, were better than humans. Faster. Stronger. But everything had a weakness. For the machines, it was their lack of creativity. They emulated, but they rarely invented. Why else were their soldiers bipedal and humanoid?
Because of this, Olivia knew the nanobot machine-specific plague she was about to introduce to the Judecca mainframe and energy systems would prove to have devasting results. It was something their little binary minds had never thought up, anticipated, or predicted.
The plague was designed for two outcomes: virus to disrupt mainframe operations, and hopefully spread to other systems, and to release nanobots that will latch onto Geth energy systems and drain them, similar to the way the AIDS virus reduces a human being's immune system. If a Geth soldier was infected by the nanobots, its energy system would be compromised in 15 hours. Since Geth soldiers share brain power by being in close proximity to one another, the nanobots, which travel by air and are drawn to Geth energy, would spread at a high rate. Geth cities would fall easily as power supplies were consumed. Transport ships would carry the plague to other strongholds and starships. The only problem with the nanobots was they needed to latch onto Geth energy quick. Once airborn, their lifespan was 5 minutes. Furthermore, the nanobots didn't respond well to certain types of radiation, which was prevalent in most Geth cities.
The machines were savy when it came to detecting humanoids. Getting into one of their cities undetected was virtually impossible for Olivia and her crew. So the goal was to use the Geth against themselves. On a previous mission, Olivia had captured a worker drone from the Geth Homeworld. As her team took up position behind some rock formations, Olivia removed the drone from her backpack and began to plant some nanobots into its energy system. Olivia then activated the drone and sent it on its way. Hopefully it would head for some Geth soldiers, better yet... a power station.
With the remaining nanobots, Olivia removed another drone, an Alliance drone with portable Geth energy, and uploaded the virus and the nanobots to it. It had many other Geth features attached to it. Things the alliance had guessed at. Hopefully it would fool the city into thinking it was one of their own.
Once activated, Olivia hunched over her handheld controls and began to pilot the small drone toward the city. This drone's job was to get to the nearest mainframe to download the virus. If all went well, today was going to be a very good day for the Alliance.

Olivia watched with restrained satisfaction as the Geth drone succeeded in entering the city. The drone she controlled, however, didn't make it very far. It was identified and destroyed by an unknown target. Sighing with frustration, Olivia tossed the handheld controls away from her and thoughtfully gazed at the city. At least the plague was spreading, she thought. At least that was working. "We'll wait here 15 hours," she finally said, "to see what kind of damage the plague has done. Then, we'll enter she city and manually upload the virus to the nearest mainframe." A shocked look crept across everyone's face as she spoke these words. In 15 hours, the fight at the Citadel could be over and the bulk of the Geth fleet could be returning to the Terminus System. Or, in 15 hours the Citadel could be destroyed. Either way, the group immediate concern was entering ______. To go in with only a group of 6 organics was suicide. It was up to the nanobots to determine how successful they would be.

Olivia and her crew of 6 waited in the rock formation for 15 hours. Jammers were set up in an attempt to stay as hidden as possible from the Geth. No one talked much. Moral was very low. After all, they had made it to _____ by stealing a medical ship. Their original ship, the Plague, was damaged during the fighting at the Citadel. Stealing wasn't the problem though, the problem was the fact they had killed several Alliance crew members to get the vessel. They had backstabbed their own people. And now, injured soldiers who had been on the medical ship because they were being transported to the Citadel for medical care were now going nowhere, and as a result, were slowly dying from their injuries. They had commited treason of the worst kind. So yeah, no one said much as they waited for the affects of the nanobots to reveal themselves. Was 15 hours enough time? Who knows.
"I'm going in now to upload the virus," Olivia said, "if you're coming with me then come on." Slowly standing to her feet, Olivia stretched her back muscles before she set out on foot for the city. The results inside were very good. The nanobots were growing everywhere and could be seen visibly now. A large portion of the city was struggling to maintain its power. The nearest mainframe was just up ahead. Olivia didn't waste any time. Jogging forward, she reached the abstract building and uploaded the virus to it. Geth programming was very forgein to the Alliance still. Only a few data cores had ever been salvaged from any Geth. Most likely the virus would be incompatible, and thus, fail miserably, like a Windows virus on a Mac system. The nanobots, however, were doing a great job. Olivia could see them everywhere. Perhaps 15 hours had been a modest estimate.
Olivia and her crew left the mainframe and proceeded out of the city. It appeared the Geth had realized something was wrong in this section of the city, so they had pulled back their drones and soldiers in order to avoid furthering the problem. The result was a cakewalk. Olivia couldn't have asked for a better result. Still, in the back of her mind, she had hoped they would encounter hostils and somehow be killed. Because now, with their mini-victory, it meant it was time to return to the Citadel and explain why they had a ship full of injuried soldiers who accused them of kidnapping and killing their own kind.
When they returned to the medical ship, a new horror awaited them. The man (a member of Olivia's crew) who had been left in charge of the vessel had killed all the injuried soldiers and the ship's pilot. He then dumped their bodies outside on the ground behind the ship. "I had to do it," he said. "I'm not a traitor. I'm not going to jail for what you've done. I did it for all of us." Olivia raised her pistol and aimed it at the man. The man reacted quickly, since he had expected such a reaction from her. Because they were both suited up, their shields took the first few shots. Another one of the crew lunged toward Olivia. He kicked the gun from her hand and punched her hard across the face. The blow knocked her helmet off her head. Olivia attempted to grab one of her grenades, but another one of her crew pinned her arms behind her back. "This is all your fault, Olivia," someone said. "You stole the medical ship and started shooting before asking any of us. Now you're going to die here." The man who had pinned her arms behind her back pushed her forward. Olivia stumbled a few steps. Before she could turn around a plasma round struck her in the back and burned deep into her kidney. Olivia lost consciousness, then. With her eyes rolling into the back of her head, she fell to the ground and was still.

Olivia awoke sometime later. The medical ship was gone. She applied a medigel and rolled onto her side. She had the option of activating a distress signal, but she hesitated. What if she was rescued? She'd only be thrown in jail. Then again, maybe not... maybe this whole thing would blow over. Olivia couldn't think straight. So she chose to forget about it. Staring off into the distance, she studied the dark city before her. Hardly any lights were on, now. Apparently, the nanobots were doing a good job at draining the city's power. Though, it wouldn't be long until they realized certain types of radiation could kill them off.
Again, sometime later, Olivia found the strength to stand to her feet. She began to walk away from the Geth city in the hopes of finding someone or another ship. The walking was pain-staking. But somewhere along the way, she found a nomadic Quarian. Olivia wasn't sure why the Ouarian was here. It had its own ship and was rummaging through some Quarian ruins. Olivia could do little else but approach the creature and fall down before it in exhaustion, cripppled with pain.

As fate would have it, the Quarian was on its pilgrimiage. Since this particular Quarian was eager to return to the Quarian Flotilia, it took this opportunity to complete its pilgrimiage. Olivia needed help, and the Quarian needed a gift to present to the captain of the ship it would be spending the rest of its life on. Crouching down, the alien scooped Olivia up into its arms and returned to its starship. From there, the Quarian left Geth space and returned to the Flotilia. Presenting a human as a gift was probably one of the more interesting gifts a Quarian captain had ever received, but the captain understood. This particular human, Olivia, was a high ranking member of the Alliance. To restore her to health, and to return her to her people, was something that would ensure a continued amicable relationship between Quarians and humans.
[gonna continue on another thread now, prolly some Flotilla thread]
