Title: Clan Origins
Description: Renowned Turian Clan
Athena - February 7, 2008 05:00 AM (GMT)
The ride on the ship was misery for Vyrchu, and she couldn't even bring her eyes up to look at anyone else. Her kin, likewise, did not speak to her, and the reason was the same. Held on her lap was her blade, or rather, what was once her blade. That Krogan, with his high powered grenade launcher, was doing a good job of attempting to hit her. He was so good in fact, she had to put her blade between her and the last grenade he shot.
The result was a deep shrapnel gouge on the right side of her face, though the bleeding was fairly minor, and of course the grenade striking one of the 'kinetic generators' in her blade. Though as a whole, a broken blade meant comparably little when looked upon in the light of betraying the clan, it was still a source of personal shame and dishonor. Now, it was highly unlikely that her people would condemn her for breaking her weapon, but it was still a rather humbling and embarrassing experience nonetheless.
Still, when they landed and the back hatch opened, she was the last to get out of the ship. She got out slowly and stepped onto the ground that was, more or less, her clan's home. She saw the other warriors heading toward the large, yet small compared to human cities, village that was her home. The buildings were simple, yet secure and practical for their needs. The whole place was clean, and it was quite obvious that everyone was working in some form or fashion. It was a busy place, that was for certain, which also meant there would be many a witness to her personal shame.
She gripped the handle of her blade, watching as blood continued to drip from the wound in her chitin mask.
'Damn it all... I'm such a fool...'

Asanagi stepped toward Vyrchu and put his hand on her shoulder "Let's get you to a healer before we speak to the elders.". Nothing was making sense, why was Dygnitas so focused on conquest and the elders playing both sides. He hoped Dygnitas didn't take it personnal what was done but it had to be done, by now the entire citidal was in chaos and it was only going to get worse.
Athena - February 7, 2008 06:38 PM (GMT)
"Fine, let's find a healer..." she muttered, still not able to catch Asanagi's eyes.
The two of them headed into the city, Vyrchu traveling with her broken blade held in her grasp, and her head appropriately hung low. The blood continued to drip from the wound at a steady rate, albeit not a fast rate, as they made their way through the numerous Turians in the vicinity. Though her head was pointed to the ground, she could feel sense the gazes and eyes upon her.
Luckily, it was not too far to the nearest healer's 'office'. The Turian was an ex-medic from the military who was nearing the end of his life, though his skills as a medic were unrivaled amongst the clan.
"Hm... who might this be?" athe man said, his voice orather gruff and aged, as Asanagi lead Vyrchu into the building "Unless I'm mistaken, you're Vyrchu, right?"
"Yes, sir." she replied, clearly not her normal response.
"'Yes,sir'? Since when have you-" he began, but his eyes caught a glint of metal from Vyrchu's hand, and a knowing look accompanied his face when he looke back at hers "Well, I guess that would do it. Now get back here so I can take care of your injury."
Though she was not treated any worse than she normally would be for her injury, she still couldn't help but feel pathetic over what had happened. Luckily though, her wound would be taken care of and healed in moments, though it would never heal fully and it would forever be visible on her face.
She stepped outside past Asanagi not too long after that, still holding her broken blade in her hand.
Tsunami - February 7, 2008 10:25 PM (GMT)
Asanagi left Vrychu to arange a meeting with the elders. Even though the villiag wasn't very big he still had to speak with their representatives before he was allowed to take Vyrchu to speak with them. When he arrived one of them said "Name, position and reason for meeting.".
Asanagi was slightly annoyed that was neccessary but he followed procedure. "Asanagi, Master of Blades, Success of last mission." He gave the representatives a hard stare, "Vychu will be coming as well. Convey to the Elders that she is NOT in the best of moods.".
Asanagi stepped outside and sat down, due to his position it wouldn't take long to arrange a meeting so he waited for Vyrchu to arrive so they could get this over with.
Athena - February 8, 2008 12:30 AM (GMT)
Vyrchu continued down the street, her head still hung low, contemplating a bit as she made her way to her house, which luckily wasn't too far from the place she'd have to meet Asanagi at later. Still, she was rather upset with herself as she walked down the way, holding onto her broken blade as if it would run off should she loosen her grip. Her thoughts focused around her blade, and her training, and somewhat on her parents as well.
She somehow managed to enter her home, which was one of the smallest in the city, and immediately made her way towards her room. Her home was scarce at best, containing that which was necessary for living and nothing more. She walked over to what appeared to be a shrine, which seemed to contain the most 'elaborate' things in her home. In the shrine was a blade, simple, black, and abnormally smooth, with a gem in the center of the blade just past the hilt. The blade, which appeared to be just as long as her father's blade was, was easily dwarfed in terms of sheer mass by what had been her father's Turian Warblade, but it was to be expected from a blade that was influenced by the Asari.
She picked up the other blade, her mother's blade, noticing how much lighter it was than her father's sword, and placed her broken blade on the shrine, adjusting what was necessary to make room for it. she retrieved the white sheath from the small armory in her home, and decided to grab a shotgun while she was at it. She knew her mission was not done on the Citadel, and she had a particular bone to pick with that Krogan whom broke her father's blade.
Placing the blade at her left side, just above where her half-skirt started, and her shotgun on her lower back, she left her house. Heading towards where she had to meet Asanagi, she considered something her mother had told her, which was vastly different from her father's training.
''Your father is right: anger is a powerful weapon in it's own right... if you believe that power comes from strength alone. Anger clouds the mind, distorts judgment, and induces unnecessary flaws... all for the sake of power.'' Vyrchu thought as she continued on her way 'Listening to father is what got his blade broken... and even then I failed...'
She arrived at the meeting place not long after that, her 'new' blade at her side and her face clearly expressing that she was lost in thought.

One of the representatives told him the elders were ready. Asanagi went to Vychu "It's time cousin. Have you decide what course to take?". The only thought in his head was 'Father, what are you and the other elders planning?'.
Athena - February 8, 2008 05:07 PM (GMT)
"It's time cousin. Have you decide what course to take?"
'Anger distorts judgement and clouds the mind...' she thought for a moment, waiting a second or two before taking a deep, calming breath "I'm going to do this the right way, cousin."
She and Asanagi entered Elders' Meeting Chambers after following one of the representatives in. The room, much like her own house, was rather scarce and simplistic. It was obvious that Vyrchu's clan was more utilitarian than most. The elder's were already gathered, of course, and they all stared at her rather intently. Whether it was because she hadn't been home in a while, or whether they noticed her new non-traditional weapon, she was not sure.
She knelt before the council, a practice she loathed but had to do according to her 'class'.
"Honored Elders." she said simply, bowing her head briefly.
"Stand, Vyrchu." on of the oldest of the Elders commanded, and she did so without question "I will go ahead and make this clear up front: we will NOT tolerate any disrespect in this hearing. Do you understand, low-born?"
A twinge of fury began in Vyrchu, but she quelled it.
'Anger clouds the mind...' she thought as she held her composure "Of course, honored Elder."
It might have been her imagination, but she thought for a moment that at least on of the Elder's was a little... surprised by her action. The last meeting she had been to, she had blown up rather loudly when she was referred to as 'low-born', which had done naught but prove the Elder right.
"Very well," another of the Elder's said, this one being one of the few female Elder's "Tell us about the mission."
"I would gladly," Vyrchu replied, having to quell another bout of rage "but I'm afraid that I don't even know what the mission was. It seems that I was not informed of plans that would influence the ENTIRE clan. Asanagi should be able to give you the answers you seek though."
The mission would come first, then she'd take up her 'personal' problems with the Elders.
Tsunami - February 8, 2008 09:00 PM (GMT)
Asanagi nodded "On the case of playing both sides was a success. We maintained our apparent neutrality andwere successful on killing the power to the citidal. On the matter of Dygnitas ... a partial success. He demenstrated loyalty to the clan but not the elders and when I questioned him on what the plan was he became defensive. Almost as if he was hiding something. As we were leaving he confronted Myself and Vyrchu in suspision of betrayle and plotting of his demise. We engaged him and a krogan in combat and were able to leave. We did not end his life. That was not in my predesignated orders. At this moment the people on the citidal should have realized there was an EMP burst and may be trying to find the generator to reverse the damage. Safeguards against this were placed however it will be repaired in due time."
Asanagi's father was one of the elders but seemed somewhat angry "And why did you call for Operation 73?"
"It seemed neccessary at the time to finish our job then leave the citidal. Also with Dygnitas's actions and atitude he seemed INCERDIBLY unsure of the elders ability to comand, making the order all the more neccessary."
"I see and what does the Master of Blades recomend we do at this particular time?" The way one of the elders said this made it almost seem retorical. He was obviously unhappy with Asanagi's desicion and since it was little known in the clan of Asanagi's true position it seemed to implicate this all the more.
Asanagi smiled "I would personnaly call back any and all clan members until further notice. I would also suggest that we take the elders into ... a hidden location so as for their portection. It is obvious that Dygnitas may try something against you and you must not be ... hurt. As for leader ship replacement With my position I should not be picked. Perhaps someone we can trust or at least I can trust for now.".
Asanagi's father was clearly furiated "YOU DO REALIZE THIS IS NOT YOUR DESICION!".
Asanagi smiled "Of course, simply what I see as the most logical action. It is clearly up to you.". He turned to Vyrchu and carefully winked so the elders wouldn't see. To her it should be obvious what the next action was.
Athena - February 9, 2008 06:45 PM (GMT)
Vyrchu caught the rather subtle wink, and she knew what Asanagi was planning.
"As a Spectre, I would second Asanagi's idea. It would be... detrimental to the clan if Dygnitas were to bring harm to any of you." Vyrchu said, standing up straight and proud to fit her rank "We could take you-"
"ENOUGH!" one of the Elders, Asanagi's father to be exact, shouted as he slammed his fists into the desk he was at "YOU DO NOT GET TO MAKE THIS DECISION!!! MY OWN SON HAS MORE POWER IN THIS COUNCIL THAN YOU DO, SO WHAT MAKES YOU THINK THAT YOU WILL HAVE ANY SAY WHATSOEVER?!?!"
Forced to quell her anger once more, Vyrchu replied through clenched teeth.
"I am a Spectre. I am the second best Spectre to ever come from this clan. I've lead armies into assaults, raids, and battles of a large scale. I've commanded squadrons, fleets, and even held sway over the ENTIRE Quarian Migrant Fleet during their last battle. I am more than qualified to say what I feel is best, and I would highly suggest that you at least heed my words."
"You continue to forget your place, lowborn!" another elder said, his irritation clearly evident "You sound as if you plan to lead the clan yourself."
"If that were to be asked of me, then I would without question." Vyrchu replied, continuing to force her anger down.
"You? A lowborn leading the clan? You must have lost all semblance of sense!" another elder stated, almost chuckling with the notion.
"With everything I've done, regardless of my standing within our clan, can you think of anyone other than Asanagi who has more skill, prowess, and experience with leading those around us to victory?" Vyrchu challenged, though she was not expecting to meet any resistance in terms of counterpoints.
However, she was not expecting them to just 'roll over and die' either.
Tsunami - February 10, 2008 02:27 AM (GMT)
Asanai was tired of this. "ENOUGH, as master of blades I hereby express my authority. If you do not restrain yoursleves then I WILL replace you with someone I can trust permanently. The position of birth is irrelevant and if you dare use it as an excuse to put down on of our own again you will see why grandfather made rules for these swords. Vyrchu is a FULLY capable leader and I trust her with my life. You would do wise to do the same.".
The elders were shocked and his father was absolutely speechless. This was the first known time in the clan that he had spoken up this way. Much less use his authority to back it up. Asanagi sighed. "I expect you packed within the hour. I will arrange the proper escort then after you are gone I WILL decide our next leader. Our business is ended."
Asanagi turned around and exited the room, he knew his father would hate him for this but this was enough. Skill determined position, not who the parents were. The elders needed to remember that.
Athena - February 10, 2008 03:54 AM (GMT)
Vyrchu was... well, shocked. She hadn't been expecting Asanagi to do something like that, especially when his own father was involved. Plus, the way it sounded, the next leader might be a permanent one... unless she was sadly mistaken. Furthermore, he had stated that he could trust her with his own life... which was quite a feat given that he himself was the Master of Blades.
She turned and left, not bothering to be respectful to the elders who had shown their disdain for her, and made sure she was able to catch up with Asanagi, who luckily hadn't gone far.
"Asanagi," she said as she neared him, seeking to grab his attention "Asanagi, I wanted to express my gratitude for what you did. You went out on a limb for me, even against your own father. You leave me indebted in the most honorable of manners."
She considered kneeling down, but decided against it out in public. If Asanagi's intention was indeed to have her as leader, she couldn't be bowing down to him.
Tsunami - February 10, 2008 04:02 AM (GMT)
Asanagi smiled "You don't have to thank me on this Vyrchu, for once I finally stood up to my father. Not too mention that I gave him the fancy way of telling him to fornicate himself with the temple and he knows it. I have no intention of letting things stay on a path that will lead our people to ruin. Even if I must kill him in order to save our people then that's what I'll do. It's what I may have to do, by the laws of these swords. However I do have one more suprise in store for both the elders and Dygnitas. I told him that if he betrayed us he'd have EVERY boutny hunter assassin, cut throat and allliance soldier on his heels with accurate reports on where to look. When he gets here whether or not the elders say to do it I'll tell him it was their idea. It'll be a nasty shock for all of them.".
Athena - February 10, 2008 05:49 AM (GMT)
Vyrchu couldn't help but smirk.
"That, cousin, is quite the plan. Maximum efficiency using minimal effort." Vyrchu said, still smirking, though most non-turians might have considered it a snarl "I admire your devotion. It's certainly an improvement from Dygnitas and the council."
She realized that she was probably keeping Asanagi from potentially important work, and she decided that that needed to be rectified.
"I'm sorry for keeping you, cousin. I shall take my leave now; I have to go and get used to my mother's blade before the potential for combat arrives. Besides, I'm sure you have more important things to do than speak to me at the moment."
She calmly turned to head out to one of the training grounds.
(BTW, you can follow me to spar if you want, or you can push ahead with the planning etc.)
Tsunami - February 10, 2008 02:25 PM (GMT)
Asanagi considered joining her. There wouldn't be much for him to do because the last time he was with a trainer he nearly cut the man's arm off by accident. It was still an interesting proposal. Another turian came up to him and asked "Sir, where are we going to hide the elders?".
"We'll hide them somewhere they won't be noticed, The easiest place would have been the citadel but that's in chaos right now. Find somewhere in the outer systems for me. And remind me to set out the hunting notice for Dygnitas in an hour or so, we wouldn't want him to feel left out.".
Asanagi turned and followed Vyrchu to the training grounds, it would at least kill time until something could be done and Vyrchu could use a hand adjusting. After all there was nothing like fighting the strongest to get better.
Athena - February 10, 2008 10:15 PM (GMT)
She did not stop on her way to the training field. Her stomach protested loudly, but she desired her training more than she desired her food. After all, that scar on her face was going to be forever a reminder as to why she needed training. The new blade, especially with how light it was, was going to take a fair amount of training to become accustomed to. She normally had to put all her effort into moving the blade, but the lack of mass was going to through her off, and then factoring in the eezo that was infused into the blade to distort the weight and make it even lighter...
'I see now why mother was physically weak and preferred speed; this blade would need speed to compensate for the lack of power it would bring.' she reasoned as she reached one of the more... traditional training grounds.
It was considerably barren, and was covered mostly in grass where she had once made barren patches of earth with her training. It seemed that she was one of a select few who actually used the older training methods... mostly because she couldn't afford the newer equipment. Still, it had worked out better for her and made her resolve all the greater.
'That which is more easily gained is more easily lost.' Vyrchu thought with a typical Turian chuckle as she stepped into the spot where she usually began, remembering exactly where it was after several years without her older training methods.
She drew her blade swiftly, noticing that it felt odd instead of drawing it from a sheath behind her. She shifted the sheath to where her shotgun was located, but found that it was too difficult to draw the blade, which had a real sheath. She placed it where it had previously been, and resigned herself to simply learning to deal with it.
Once again, she drew her blade and entered into her stance; her father's style. (ooc: similar to a the kendo stance) However, before she could determine the feel of her stance, a sound behind her alerted her to the presence of another, and she turned to address said person.
"Asanagi," she said, somewhat surprised "What are you doing here? I assumed you had other matters to take care of..."
Tsunami - February 10, 2008 11:19 PM (GMT)
"We have an hour to prepare before the elders leave and we can't have you working with a blade your not used to. Did you think I didn't notice?" Asanagi pulled out his swords and took up a stance on the grounds. "Come cousin, Let's see how you adjust.".
Athena - February 10, 2008 11:48 PM (GMT)
'...he's serious, isn't he?' Vyrchu thought as she saw Asanagi get into his own stance 'Well, I'd be doing him a dishonor to refuse his assistance.'
She once again entered her stance, which she was expecting to feel different. However, she felt more than different; she felt as if she was doing something completely wrong. She had used that stance for years, despite it being a more masculine style of combat than what she would be taught by tradition.
Still, she didn't let that stop her as she dashed at Asanagi, attempting a rather predictable downward slash that could be turned into a counter attack with ease. However, she failed to compensate for the lightweight blade, throwing off her balance weakening her blow.
'Oh shit...' she thought 'this is not going to end well...'
Tsunami - February 10, 2008 11:52 PM (GMT)
Asanagi simply stepped out of the way, he knew this was a new blade for her but she was a proffesional and shouldn't make such obvious mistakes. He watched her go past him and placed his hand on her head. "Come now Vyrchu, at least try to hit me." He stepped away and readied for the next attack.
Athena - February 10, 2008 11:59 PM (GMT)
'Dammit...' she thought, gritting her teeth.
She shifted her front foot and adjusted her hands, using her whole body to bring her blade back around and to attempt to cleave Asanagi in two. Her strike was still feeling off and awkward, but it was obviously better than her previous, as she remembered to compensate for the weight this time. Still, it wasn't going to end too well, but hopefully better than treating her like a child.
Tsunami - February 11, 2008 12:06 AM (GMT)
'Improvement, that's good.' went through Asanagi's mind as he didged this next swing. "Let's see how you handle defense." Asanagi called as what was a light swing for him was strong attack for others went toward Vyrchu. If she couldn't dodge or block it then he would simply stop the swing. A simple matter at his level.
Athena - February 11, 2008 12:15 AM (GMT)
One plus of a lighter weight bastard sword was that you had a better defensive ability. She used her other hand to bring the blade up into a typical block, and it was just in time to catch his attack. However, the sheer force of the blow was extremely unprecedented; it knocked her back a fair distance. Luckily she managed to keep her balance and return to her usual stance.
'Good lord... I knew he was strong but...' she thought, unable to finish her thought as she contemplated her next option.
A thought came to mind, something she normally wouldn't consider, but maybe it was because she knew she was wielding a more feminine blade that she thought of this.
'Well... it would be more fitting to his style...' she reasoned, and broke her stance.
She turned so her side was facing Asanagi, and held her blade with both hands behind her so all that could be seen was her left side. Her blade briefly touched the ground, and it was no sooner that it had touched the ground that she was off at Asanagi like a shot.
She increased her speed at the last moment, and using both her momentum and strength to manipulate the blade, rather than the strike, she unleashed a rather unique strike. It was rather difficult to pull off a rising strike with efficiency, but Vyrchu was currently managing it at an expert's level.
'Odd...' her mind thought as she was attacking 'this actually feels right...'
Tsunami - February 11, 2008 12:23 AM (GMT)
Asanagi smiled, with every strike she got better. "Excellent." was all he got out before sticking one of his blades in the ground then using the other to not only block her but he angled his blade and used an average level of force for him to send Vyrchu up into the air. "Now you have gravity on your side, let's see how you use it.".
Athena - February 11, 2008 12:31 AM (GMT)
She spun in midair, muscle memory taking place of conscious thought. It felt natural, and it wasn't as forced as she normally would make it. She shifted the blade into one hand, using the spin and gravity, utilizing her wrist as well, to add a rather impressive amount of force to her strike.
If it landed, Asanagi would most likely no longer have his head. If he blocked it, she could use his weight against him and continue the spin, putting her behind him for a counterattack via continued momentum or a potent thrust. Dodging would be difficult, as it would be hard to dodge a strike such as hers.
'Wow... I didn't think I could do this...'
Tsunami - February 11, 2008 12:36 AM (GMT)
Asanagi thought 'That's it, with skill like that you could almost take my place as Master of Blades but the weight of them would be too much for you.' as he brought up his blade to repel her. He knew this move and how to block it. When she came down he spun his blade sending her about 10 meters away. He picked up the other terror. "Now it's time to get serious.".
Athena - February 11, 2008 12:45 AM (GMT)
Vyrchu landed and immediately got into the latest stance so only her left side could be seen. It felt right for her to stand that way... but it was... different all the same. It was her mother's stance, the woman who was physically weaker than even an average female blademaster. Her moves were more like dances, and her lack of strength seemed discouraging from that style. However, looking back, her mother was the ONLY blademaster her father was unwilling to challenge.
Still, she had not time to wonder why that was, instead glaring at Asanagi as he brought up his other terror. She would not charge; if she was going to use her mother's style, then she would also use her tactics.
'Let's see what made father shy away from a challenge against my mother.' she thought as she watched Asanagi intently.
Tsunami - February 11, 2008 12:49 AM (GMT)
Like how grandfether had intended them to be used to help the clan, Asanagi was using the Twin Terrors to help Vyrchu see the truth inside herself. What her style was, her true way of fighting, things all blademasters had to know. Now that he was serious he wasn't going to hold back. Vyrchu could handle it. With almost god-like speed as proof of his skill he became a blur then appeared right behind Vyrchu and swung. He knew she would see and dodge this.
Athena - February 11, 2008 12:57 AM (GMT)
Vyrchu was in awe at how fast Asanagi could move.
'Good lord...' she thought moments before Asanagi swung.
The swing was diagonal, with but a single blade. She rotated with his strike, shifting her upper body so that she was mere centimeters from the massive blade's more dangerous end. Using her dodge for impressive force with it's momentum and rotation, and using her body to it's entirety, she swung in a manner that was directly converse to Asanagi's blow, though the target was the same: his back.
Tsunami - February 11, 2008 01:02 AM (GMT)
Asanagi blocked Vyrchu and put more distance between them with the other sword. "Two blades remember cousin. Why do you think I only struck with one?". Using the immense strength in his legs he jumped inequivically high. He dived down toward Vyrchu with his blades in front spinning himself like a high powered drill. This way although she would dodge it his recovery would be instantanious.
Athena - February 11, 2008 01:11 AM (GMT)
'You have got to be kidding me...' she thought as Asanagi came spiraling at her.
A counterattack would result in both of their lives ending most likely, but a dodge would be insanely difficult to pull off without putting her in harms way. Still, blocking was just insanity, and would result solely in her own demise. Obviously, dodging was the only option.
'Or is it...' she thought as she watched Asanagi come barreling towards her.
She quickly noted his rotation, watching the direction the spires that protruded from the back of the male Turian's calves were going, and at the last possible moment she leaped out of the way.
She had timed it perfectly, ending up so that Asanagi would have to turn almost completely around with his momentum to strike her, or he would have to waste time coming to a complete stop and changing directions. Though a quick stab would be the most efficient attack, it would also be almost without question the ending point of Asanagi's life. Instead, she went with a quick slash that utilized her entire body to build momentum.
'Come to think of it... mom didn't need strength; she used the natural forces and bodily mechanics to attack...' she thought amidst the whole ordeal 'but if she had more strength... then she would have been able to make her attacks even faster, accruing more momentum and being able to exhibit even more force in her strike...'
Tsunami - February 11, 2008 01:17 AM (GMT)
Asanagi watched the strike even as he spinned. He used his momentum not to attack but to send himself into the air over Vyrchu, landed and with the speed from not long ago appeared behind her with one blade in front of her neck at the other at her back. "I think that's enough practise for now. I haven't worked this hard since training with the last master of blades.".
Athena - February 11, 2008 01:30 AM (GMT)
Vyrchu was shocked to, for the second time in less than 24 hours, have Asanagi's blade pressed against her throat.
'Well, at least he isn't trying to kill me.' she thought as Asanagi slowly removed her blade, which was accompanied by her slowly replacing her own blade.
"...I haven't worked this hard since training with the last master of blades."
Now, Vyrchu was moderately embarrassed as she turned to face Asanagi.
"You give me too much credit Asanagi. I'm not that good a blademaster." she said, her voice somewhat more of a mumble than what she had intended "The last Master of Blades would have wiped the floor with me. If I had to rely solely on my sword..."
However, a single thought stopped her mid-sentence.
'Wait... I've NEVER relied solely on the blade. However, every Master of Blades in the history of the clan has focused solely on the art of the blade. I'm probably a better biotics user than Asanagi, though it's probably not by much... and I have extensive Spectre level training in ranged weapons and unarmed combat. If I used all of them against Asanagi...' she thought, not noticing that she had basically gone into her own little world for a moment.
Tsunami - February 11, 2008 12:02 PM (GMT)
"That's just it, you didn't rely solely on the sword. If the sword was the only thing we could use we'd have been wiped out years ago. As Master of Blades I am required to know everything possible with sword combat. I was also trained in unarmed combat, biotics, ranged weaponry, stealth, and so much more. Master of Bldaes has more than one meaning, and if I had to I'd cut a bullet in half. But knowing MORE than the blade is what actually makes the Master of Blades so strong." Asanagi told her "Besides look at what we did in under 45 seconds.".
Athena - February 11, 2008 01:33 PM (GMT)
'Wait... 45 seconds?' she thought, confused for a moment before she realized that it hadn't been that long since the fight started 'I could have sworn it was longer than that...'
Still, she had not known that about Asanagi; she had never seen him use anything besides his blades and a biotic barrier. It made sense thought, but even then it appeared that blades were his specialty. She killed that train of thought right there; she had no urge to usurp Asanagi from his position.
'Besides, I like using only one blade.' she thought, mentally smirking.
"You are right, of course, and I guess I should just accept my praise as it is." Vyrchu said aloud, returning to her proud posture "I would also thank you for the brief sparring match. You have forced me to realize something rather important today that will help not only myself, but the clan as a whole, inevitably anyway. It seems learning my mother's style as well was more beneficial than I had once thought."

"Everything has a purpose cousin ..." was all he got out before another clan member came to the grounds. "Master of Blades, cousin Vyrchu we have a problem.".
"What is it?"
"One of the elders refuses to leave his home."
Asanagi smiled "I was expecting this, Vyrchu do you want to come with me for this?".

'He planned this all along... clever bastard.' she thought, this time chuckling aloud "Sure, I'd love to accompany you, cousin."
She bore no malice towards the elders... but to say that she even remotely cared for them was entirely false. After all, she was a 'lowborn' to a nearly-dishonored father and a mother who was more Asari than Turian. To make it simple: if the Elders died a slow, painful death, she'd be unaffected. That didn't stop her from honorably following her duty to the clan... which meant obedience and 'tolerance' of the elders.
As such, the chance to possibly aid in evicting one of them from their own home was too much to pass up.
The other clan member led both her and Asanagi back into the village, Vyrchu following behind Asanagi. The trio arrived at the elder's house, though she knew not which elder it was. She leaned in close to Asanagi, so only he could hear her.
"Cousin, if worse comes to worse, I have plenty of experience from my missions in breaking and entering." she said softly, more or less volunteering to serve as 'point'.

"No need Vyrchu, this is elder Helan's house. He doesn't even know how to lock the door. How he became an elder is beyond me." Asanagi stepped through the door to see the elder clinging to a tree. "Now what's wrong elder?".
"I'm not leaving this house to die. If I die it'll be in the comfort of my own home."
"What makes you think your going to die elder. We're moving you to a safe location to prevent that." Asanagi leaned to Vyrchu and whispered "Can you get behind him and knock him out. I'm afraid I would bash his skull in.".

"Can you get behind him and knock him out. I'm afraid I would bash his skull in."
Vyrchu nodded, not one to pass up such an opportunity. Helan was the elder who had called her lowborn not only the most frequently, but also with the most disdain. A small act of retribution was not above her.
She carefully walked forward, putting on a traditional Turian smile.
"Elder Helan, please here Asanagi out. His words are spoken true." Vyrchu said in an earnest tone.
"Lowborn, you know not what you speak!" he said to her, still clinging to the tree "He is asking us to cowardly run from what we aren't even sure to be a rogue clansmen! We are Turian's; we never flee!"
"You're right, but a strategic withdrawal is what is in order at the moment." Vyrchu countered, continuing to approach at a normal pace.
"Stand back lowborn!" he shouted as she continued to approach "I will have you arrested if you continue to approach!"
"Unfortunately, elder, I'm a Spectre; the council has ensured that the likes of you can NOT arrest me." she said, continuing to approach at the steady pace.
A low growl eminated from the elderly Turian, his fingers digging into the tree somewhat.
"I said STAND-"
In the moment that his anger erupted, she decided to take a leaf out of Asanagi's book. Though not quite as fast as what Asanagi could muster, she exploded with a burst of speed, dashing to the other side of Helan in a barely noticeable blur. She drew her pistol in the process, and pivoted on a single foot the moment she got behind the elder. She drove the butt of her pistol into the back of Helan's head, careful to avoid the spires that protruded from his head.
Helan was propelled violently forward, landing in a heap a fair distance away. She replaced her pistol as she looked at Helan, knowing that he was out cold, and for a fair while most likely.
"He may have a minor injury, but I was careful not to do any serious damage." she said, smiling at Asanagi "By the way, remind me to train with you more often: I could learn something more."

"Speed can be a great weapon." Asanagi turned to the turian who informed him of the developments "Anyone else?"
"No Sir, the others are packing as instructed."
"Good, see that someone packs for our delerious elder would you." Asanagi turned to Vyrchu "Cousin there is something of interest to discuss with you." Asanagi mentioned as he turned toward the door.

"Alright, cousin." was her response as she followed Asanagi out of Helan's house.
She continued to follow him to wherever he was headed, for she did not know where he planned to go. However, she was sure it would be a secure area so that noone would neither overhear, nor interfere, with their conversation.
She did not ask any questions as they walked along, only waiting for Asanagi to find a 'secure' location for them to talk.
'I honestly wonder what he means to speak with me about...' she wondered amidst their traveling.

They entered a remote part of the city. "This should be good enough, now to business. I've recieved reports that at Mons Calpe they have discovered what supposedly is a ship from the last civilization wiped out by the reapers. I've sent someone expressing my interest in the ship but I have other plans. They plan to destroy it after they're done since it is on course to crash with the citadel. I want to take the ship for our clan. Imagine the technology and power there is in something like that. Not to mention it would be a perfect place to 'hide' the elders with it's security systems.".
