Biography: The SSV Thermopylae was made specifically for the transport of the ten Marine special forces on board, getting them to and from planet surfaces. Because of this, the Thermopylae is made to be incredibly fast and agile, but is not battleworthy or stealthy at all.
Two noteworthy features of the SSV Thermopylae are the Drive Overload system, and the Hover Ring. The Drive Overload system allows the engines to be pushed to 500% power for a period of 15-20 seconds in it's best condition. The Hover Ring is a ring-shaped thruster module located near the stern of the ship, and it allows the ship the "dock" anywhere it needs to as long as there is enough room by hovering over the spot.
The only weapon on the ship, a fixed Ion Cannon, gives the ship a small measure of leverage in combat, if only to buy it time to escape. The ion cannon can disable (for around 15 seconds) anything up to a small cruiser in a single accurate hit near the engines, but it takes multiple accurate hits on anything else. Unfortunately for the Thermopylae's purposes, the ion cannon's blast is similar to an EMP blast, and causes no real damage to enemy ships.
