Title: Irune
Description: Volus Homeworld

ignatius - February 28, 2008 01:59 PM (GMT)
After the farewells, Expat and Ignatius returned in their personell shuttle to the Volus homeworld, Irune. For the first time in years, he cracked open his protective outerwear and breathed in deeply. Expat then returned to his merchant duties, and Ignatius was called to the capital building for a debriefing.

When he finished explaining all that had happened, including the demise of his mentor, Din Korlac, Ignatius was awarded his old superiors position as ambassador to the Citadel. He was then informed that he would have two days to meet with family and prepare for the extended stay at the Citadel to assist in the rebuilding process and show the Volus' good will.

Ignatius then walked all the way to his home, preparing for the memorial service being held for Din to occur later that night.

There was a loud ringing in Jercious' ears, he opened his eyes, looking at the machine on the table next to the bed he had fallen asleep on... it was ringing a horrible noise. He pushed a button, causing it to stop as he stood up, he stretched a little, moving over to his closer of wich had his outwear inside. He put it on, walking out of the hotel room and down the flight of stairs below.

He had a meeting to get to inside the Capital Building... he had slept in a little too late and needed to hurry, he moved into the Transit vehicle, wich was similar to a Human 'Bus'. It soon sped off down the fast-paced roads of the city, stopping about twenty minutes later at the Capital Building. The little Volus walked inside... he knew wat this was about... he was more then likely being sent to the Citadel with the Ambassador. He knew Ignatius was back... and intended to meet with him at Din's Memorial. Now, however, was not the time. He was being briefed inside a large room with a few desks around... it resembled a court room... three Volus walked inside, taking seats at the large desk at the front of the room. One started to speak, Jercious simply listened.

"Mr. Feara, we have called you here today to announce you're next assignment."

Jercious nodded, continuing to listen.

"We would like you to become the new Co-Ambassador for the Volus position on the Citadel. What say you."

Jercious knew this would be why he was here, it filled him with joy at the porposal. He stood up, looking at the Volus who had spoken.

"I would be very honoured to accept this position." He said boldly, he had always been honoured to be a Volus... the little species was not as helpless as some would think.

"Good. You will be working with Mr. Ignatius... you both have two days until you depard. I suggest saying farewell to loved ones and friends."

The Volus nodded, standing up again.

"This meeting is ajurned." The second Volus said, all three filing out and dissapearing out the door. Jercious simply moved out back onto the street. He walked through the streets leading to Ignatius' house... he could remarkably still remember how to get there... after all these years.

Ignatius Ilyac stood at his front viewport, staring off into the haze which covered the countryside. He breathed deeply, knowing that the sweet smell of home would soon be lost to him once more. As he smiled, he noticed movement on the horizon. Straining his eyes, he made out a recognizable figure... one he had not seen in many years...

Ignatius ran outside.

"Jercious! Old friend! Come here and come in! We have much to discuss before we depart!"

They embraced in traditional Volus fashion, Ignatius almost losing his head and hugging him like a human. He ran inside to prepare a small meal they would partake in before their departure, a custom traditional to all traveling Volus.

"So, tell me," Ignatius began as he sat with his old friend. "What news from the capital?"

Jercious was happy to see his old friend once again... it had been years since he had seen Ignatius.

"What news from the capital?"

"My meeting with the council was very short, they simply told me to go with you and get out" Jercious said, smiling.

"This is just as I remember it... exactly." Jercious said again, sniffing the air and feeling the warmth of the afternoon sun. It was relaxing.

"Hmm. Its a pity we have to leave Irune in two days... never get much time at home do we."

"We certainly don't," responded Ignatius. "But I suppose it is for the best. We need to represent the will of the people who live here."

They retreated inside and sat down to food. Ignatius began to speak.

"So, how has the family been? Will they be at the service later this evening? I hear almost all of the clan will be there."

"I also hear that... I don't think my wife will be able to make it... she's looking after her sister who isn't very well." Jercious said, sipping on his drink.

"It's a tragety... it must have been harsh on yourself as you and he were very close--" Jercious stopped talking, realising he wasn't really helping the conversation by bringing up wounds. He sipped his drink again.

"It was, yes. But all that is in the past. It is the future that worries me now. The future of our people."

Ignatius stopped himself as he finished speaking, making sure not to get too worked up before the service.

He glanced at the timekeeper on the wall.

"It's about time. Ready to go?" he asked Jercious.

((Sorry for the short post... couldn't really think of anything.))

"Sure, lets go old friend." And with that, Jercious stood up, moving toward the door of the house, it was a fair walk to the service.

"Feel like taking Transportation Ignatius?"

ignatius - March 10, 2008 11:05 PM (GMT)
"Might as well," Ignatius responded.

They hailed the transport and set off for the service.

It was late when the funeral concluded. Afterward, Ignatius said his farewells and agreed to meet in two days early. Ignatius' old Personell Transport was to be fully crewed and ready by the morning, so they would have no trouble making the trek to the Citadel.
