Description: Olympia was founded by a joint effort of wealthy men, nations, and corporations. Excel Data Corporation was one of the biggest donators, opting to use the colony to store vast amounts of data, artifacts, and other various things.
After some debate, it was decided that they would also store Human History by creating the Museum of Humanity, and the Library of Humanity. The Library is the biggest in all of Human space, containing millions of books, records, and various things from the past. The two buildings are visited by thousands of Humans and aliens each year, all seeking to understand the species.
The Alliance maintains a small base on the colony, one used for reaching out further into the system. Most soldiers in the base are happy, often venturing into the cities for dinner and fun. Only one gunshot has ever been fired on the colony due to a biotic going crazy and lashing out.
The colonists have a happy life on the surface, working for various corporations or maintaing the beautiful structures on the colony. As the name implies the Colony has heavy Greek Influence, most of the public places are named after Greek and Roman things.
The Capital is Athens, and contains the library and museum. Also is the Apollo spaceport where freight and people pass through everyday. The captial building is a design similar to the US Supreme Court Buidling in Washington DC on Earth.
Residents in Athens often use the Athens Metro Lines to get across the city. The MAGLEV trains travel very fast, making it easy for people to get across the city. There are two levels of track, the street level and the skyway. The stations to get on the trains are located mainly on the street leve, but the Skyway runs through and on the sides of the larger sky scrapers which all have stations. Workers can get from a station directly to work with this well designed system.
The Skyway is smaller, as the desingers did not want train tracks blocking out the sky, making trains transfer to the lower rails to get to locations. The system works flawlessly so far, and most expect it to keep that way. The outer portions of the city have yet to be connected, but construction is under progress.
There is very little crime on the colony, but the coroporations want to keep it like that so the Olympia Police Force mantains a tight grip on security. The OPF maintains about 6 thousand active officers along with a 200 member SWAT Force in case of major catastrophies. They rely on the Alliance base to deter criminals as the colony is too big to be patorled by the force.
Private Resdidents may own weapons if they are registered and have a permit from the government of the Colony. Many 'Marinas' have popped up on Olympia that allow people to keep ships without playing ridiculous prices to keep them in the official docking bays.
