Title: Timeskip
Description: Yes, just after the reset : P

Delta Team Curt - March 25, 2008 11:32 PM (GMT)
Rasen and a few of us have decided that we could move the RP forward a year or two after we finish the Alliance vs. TF plot.

This means that all RPs need to be finished, and characters ready to be put through two years of non-rped time.

This will allow everyones characters to recover from the shocks of the citadel, and deaths, and allow the citadel to be repaired.

More as we work on this idea : P

Rasengod7 - March 26, 2008 12:08 AM (GMT)
To add onto what Delta said, you do not have to continue to use your character. You can start from scratch if you choose to.

Your character cannot remain the same age unless you provide a good reason. You choose how your character evolved.

We will work on the state of the galaxy, but comments would be well appreciated. We need to figure out how the galaxy has changed during the time skip.

Thanks a lot for everyone's contributions to the site. We hope to make this site prosper even longer.

Tsunami - March 26, 2008 01:41 AM (GMT)
SO is this immidiat? If so then please delete the "Pleasing the Elders" Thread on Other systems.

Rasengod7 - March 26, 2008 01:43 AM (GMT)
It is not immediate. We are waiting for the Alliance and Terra Firma conflict to end then we will start the time skip.

Rasengod7 - March 26, 2008 02:35 AM (GMT)
I don't know the outcome of the Alliance vs Terra Firma fight, but these are some ideas based on the assumption that the Alliance wins.

I believe that when the Council made the Spectres all other special ops teams were banned. I'd like to suggest that the Council allows all executive members of the Council to have special ops. Since the Spectres are small in number it is hard for them to protect the entire galaxy. Allowing humans, turians and all the others to have special ops legally will make things easier.

Tsunami - March 26, 2008 02:39 AM (GMT)
Ok, I'd like to bring together all the characters, except for dygnitas, who belong to the Segonashi clan. Have them discuss the current issues and make plans for the safety and future of their people.

Rasengod7 - March 26, 2008 02:42 AM (GMT)
Why not Dygnitas? :(

Just a joke. Okay I guess this is where Kaleb can come in. You can take control of him and bring him in somehow and I could take over.

Tsunami - March 26, 2008 02:44 AM (GMT)
Already got that figured out, I have it set up so that depending who comes back I'll have a fighter squad go out and escort him to the ship. which would be hiding in an asteriod belt for security reason. ONce he's in he'll be led to Asanagi and once the others come in things will get started.

Rasengod7 - March 26, 2008 02:48 AM (GMT)
okay good.

I also have an organization in the works. It requires ten members and I already have three. I will post the entire details of the organization after the time skip. Just wanted to put that out there. Oh yeah they are an Alliance group.

Skyrillian Blitz - March 26, 2008 02:59 AM (GMT)
At the suggestion of Tsunami, I have some ideas about a counter-intelligence network. The idea is that its members are deep cover agents scattered throughout space providing intelligence on areas as well as doing the odd misinformation or black-ops.

The network is the collaboration of the council races. Each race handles its own agents and information is passed to certain handlers and drop points between agents.

Special Ops teams will handle the grunt work, as well as the regular military.

The idea is low-key agents infiltrate all levels of society and organisations and remain there. The high command of each race shares information and each one is responsible for a sphere of influence.

Deep cover agents are on their own. They have a great amount of freedom to do what they feel is necessary but if caught, they will not be saved or be exempt. Think KGB or CIA agents.

The Special Ops squads are their do contact raids, deep-insertion missions and black ops. Sort of like a Sam Fisher/Ghost Recon style team. They're limited in options since they fall under direct command but whatever they do is sanctioned by the corresponding council member.

So agents have freedom but are accountable, special ops teams are limited but unaccountable.

Thoughts, ideas, criticisms?

Tsunami - March 26, 2008 03:01 AM (GMT)
INteresting, you could have the biography set up so they formed during the chaos in the skip itself. Times like that are perfect for setting up those operations.

Skyrillian Blitz - March 26, 2008 03:04 AM (GMT)
I had a character development set up that hinted at this. I'll have to modify it but it gives a bit of flavour to the organisation.

Cabal Vox Record

Rasengod7 - March 26, 2008 03:05 AM (GMT)
My organization actually fits into that. That would make things easier for me.

Skyrillian Blitz - March 26, 2008 03:06 AM (GMT)
Edit: Arrggh! Damn computer went FUBAR on me. Stupid double post.

Rasengod7 - March 26, 2008 03:13 AM (GMT)
We also need to know if the Citadel Council is changing. Who is being added on or taken off or nothing?

We also need to decide how far we will jump.

Tsunami - March 26, 2008 03:24 AM (GMT)
I'd say a 2 year jump would be fine.

Skyrillian Blitz - March 26, 2008 03:36 AM (GMT)
For the council, the salarian member I think would be replaced (short lifespans). The human one I think would as well given the political fallout from the SA/TF conflict. The asarian and turian should still be the same unless some sort of controversy came out.

The Elcor and Hanar were suppose to be next inline to get seats but given all the warfare, I doubt it. The Hanar may kick up a stink about the Segonashi so that might tip it in their favour to get a council seat.

Depends on how much conflict has been going on. If it has been a peaceful two years, then the passive races will gain support while the aggressive races will lose prestige.

Leo XV - March 26, 2008 04:47 AM (GMT)
The Geth rebels should have some part. Leo XV finished the indoctrination plot, so theirs a small fleet of rebel geth on the councils side.

Maybe Specter status for Leo XV due to this?

Spinderfly - March 26, 2008 10:57 AM (GMT)
Ohhhhh. Everything makes a lot more sense now.

A two-year timeskip would be fine, really.

QUOTE (Rasengod7 @ Mar 25 2008, 08:35 PM)

That's not true, actually. Considering the Salarian STG and the Asari commandos. We should familiarize ourselves with the only true source of Mass Effect canon: The Codex. It would help to follow this as closely as possible to maintain continuity to the game.

I agree to the appointment of a human council member but the Salarian member does not need to be replaced, he still has a good amount of years to serve.

We should have a select few create (or use an existing character) for the human councilor and have a vote (similar to Dominion's idea but not for the whole council). It can be up to the admins and/or mods to choose those who will create the character nominees.

If anything, the next species up for a council seat should be the volus since they're in charge of the Citadel finances and considering the Citadel's situation they need it. But this shouldn't happen all at once. It should be a long time after the the human councilor is elected to choose another councilor.

Delta Team Curt - March 26, 2008 04:39 PM (GMT)
Humanity does need a seat, and like Katarn said, we could hold an election type deal for the council position. There would be requirments, because who wants someone doing such an important role who is not that great of a member.

Things like activity, writing style, understanding of the universe, etc.

Like I said before, the citadel needs repaired since who want to RP in a junked up space station : P Should not take forever like the original timeline said because the keepers would go into overdrive : P

Rasengod7 - March 26, 2008 07:19 PM (GMT)
Thanks for clearing it up Katarn. I wasn't too sure if special ops were banned. I would say that a two year time skip might be appropriate. By then the Citadel would be repaired and the state of the galaxy would be different. It would be easier to start things off there.

Tsunami - March 26, 2008 08:28 PM (GMT)
2 years doesn't seem that much but so much can change in that little time.

Delta Team Curt - March 26, 2008 08:33 PM (GMT)
Suggested Changes to Universe:

Organizations fail (reduce number of specops)

Rebel Geth get embassy

Alliance pushes Geth out of the traverse

Alliance gets new area to colonize.

Human Council Member

Terra Firma becomes a major (peaceful) political party

Increased Batarian activity

Bolder Geth attacks

RifkinShard - March 26, 2008 08:53 PM (GMT)
Agreed with all!

Delta Team Curt - March 26, 2008 08:55 PM (GMT)
Yay!

Venom lord20 - March 26, 2008 09:04 PM (GMT)
I say a battle with the Shawdow Broker is needed. Its time for Nero to be in the spotlight. :P

Delta Team Curt - March 26, 2008 09:04 PM (GMT)
Its been like 20 years since the game! Is he even alive!

Venom lord20 - March 26, 2008 09:08 PM (GMT)
Is the Shawdow Broker even a man? Maybe he's a group of people that run a crime ring?

Plaidsheep - March 26, 2008 09:49 PM (GMT)
I agree with all the things Delta said, save two. The first being the Human Councilor. If Humanity is still recovering from a bloody Civil-War, why would the other races give them that kind of power? It just seems like Humanity is quite weakened and to give power to a weakened race doesn't seem realistic.

The second being Terra Firma becoming a peaceful political party. I say this under the assumption that the Alliance beats TF. Why on Earth would the SA even let them still exist? They started a Civil-War that cost thousands of lives. I think the last thing the SA would do is let them still have political influence. It's like saying after the American Civil-War the North just let the Confederates become a political party. Also, why would TF be "peaceful". Unless you could explain that the leaders were replaced by new ones and that the party was under strict regulations, I don't see how that would make sense.

But, other than those things, GREAT!!!!

Rasengod7 - March 26, 2008 09:54 PM (GMT)
I think the outcome of the Alliance vs. Terra Firma thing affects everything that has been said. Humans may or may not get a seat depending on outcome. Terra Firma may or may not become a peaceful party. I will just wait and see.

Delta Team Curt - March 26, 2008 09:54 PM (GMT)
The alliance could not win without talking, if the Alliance has to go past the asteroid belt everyones fucked. If you read the plan in the plot RP the Alliance is basically going to seige the inner colonies until TF agrees with them.

They would want to end it ASAP, so giving all members amenesty and allowing TF to work as a political party would be the price.

They would get a seat because the saved the citadel from the geth, agian. Also the council (while under Katarn) thought that not doing it could cause much severe results, which it did. Other than that if they manage to push the geth out of teh traverse, it proves they can handle it

Plaidsheep - March 26, 2008 10:04 PM (GMT)
I get what your saying with the Council seat and also with TF. I guess the part I got hung up on was the peaceful aspect of it. I don't see how they would just kiss and make up after they were such fierce enemies.

But I'm gonna do what Rasen is doing, see how it unfolds. I'm sure it will explain its self in the RP. :)

Delta Team Curt - March 26, 2008 10:06 PM (GMT)
Parliament meetings would be very, very awkward for awhile : P

Rasengod7 - March 26, 2008 10:25 PM (GMT)
We need to decide right away what events to add to the story.

The game's story
Migrant Battle
Battle of Judecca
Battle of New Eden
Battle of Elysium
Invasion of the Citadel
Cure for Indoctrination mission
Retake of the Citadel
Terra Firma Protests
Alliance Civil War
Terra Firma takeover of Sol's inner colonies
Alliance counterattack
Alliance and Terra Firma make peace

I hope I got everything in the right order. Tell me if I am missing anything.

We need to finally decide how far ahead we are jumping.

We also need to make up stuff for the jump.

Tsunami - March 26, 2008 10:29 PM (GMT)
Should the discovery and beginning of officail active duty for the Segonashi go in there. There are a few things involved with the Segonashi I'll add to it's history myself.

Venom lord20 - March 26, 2008 10:30 PM (GMT)
 Liandri becomes one of the biggest Merc Organizations after it helped the Alliance take back sole and the Citidel. I hope if this is okay since my Org has like the most characters.

Rasengod7 - March 26, 2008 10:32 PM (GMT)
Okay Tsunami send me a pm of what you want me to write about Segonashi.

Venom I will put what you said.

Delta Team Curt - March 26, 2008 10:34 PM (GMT)
SAMPLE TIMELINE:

2201

Early: The Alliance retakes Sol in the Great Comprmise. After the Arcturus fleet stormed Jump Zero, the military seiged the inner planets. Talks ended in Terra Firma becoming a political party, and amnesty granted to all those in the group. For the first time, talks are opened with Geth that have rebelled against Yarik Streydus.

Late: Humanity gains a seat on the Citadel Council due to their actions in the Second Geth Invasion. The Alliance also starts OPERATION STRIKE, and all out assualt on Geth and pirates in the Traverse. The Rebel Geth gain an embassy on the citadel, despite general opposition

2202

Early: The Geth are purged from the Traverse, pirates are driven into hiding, and the Alliance declares the area Safe for the first time in years. The Council honored their efforts by awarding them colonization rights in the Archos Verge, a semi stable region once awarded to the Turians for colonization. Geth attacks become more commonplace agianst all races colonies. Due to the intel gained after the Seige, militaries have adapted techniques that repel almost all of them.

Late: Batarian extremists begin a new campaign agianst the Alliance, trying to wipe out outposts in the Traverse. Thousands of humans die, but an Alliance Flotilla strikes back. Attacks begin on Archos colonies also, trying to stop the Humans from gaining anymore space that they believe belong to them. Geth seem to start blantly suicidal mission, throwing huge numbers of forces at areas heavily defended.

Katarn1138 - March 26, 2008 11:07 PM (GMT)
So far so good, Delta.
