Title: Team 1 // Teamwork Challege

Binary - December 1, 2007 11:32 PM (GMT)
Carol waited as the other teams cleared the danger room. Left with just her three cohorts, she nodded to each of them. Psylocke was well trained and in her twenties- Grim too. Magma was one of the mansions newest recruits and a bit younger, but she had great potential according to the Professor. Nodding at each of them, she crossed her arms and waited. As the doors sealed behind the last exiting mutants, the room sprung to life, beginning its customary thirty second countdown to initiation. She had already programmed the entire session, so she at least knew what to expect. Eternally congenial, however, Carol had informed everyone of the basic. She intended for her team to win, but it wouldn't be because of any unfair advantage.

As the thirty seconds completed, the four mutants stood in silence. The virtual sky grew dark and stormy, and deep frigid water swelled into a whitewater river in front of them. It was very wide and dangerous, and there was heavy wind filling the sky with greater and greater intensity.

Folding her arms, she turned to her teammates. "Alright. We're facing a river of dangerous speed and temperature, filled with rocks. Crossing the actual water is not an option. We have the following powers - I can fly, shoot concussive plasmic blasts, and am many times as strong physically as any non-mutant. Grim also possesses superhuman strength, heals faster than a normal human, has some psionic ability, and can incapacitate with a touch. Psylocke is a telepath of some merit and can teleport herself if necessary. Magma can project fire or raw heat, transform her body into a super durable fire condition, and potentially draw lava from beneath the earth's surface."

"Who has an idea to get us all across this water as quickly as possible? Is the best option for me to drag you each one by one? For Psylocke to shadow-warp herself across and fight out the rest of the challenge alone? For Grim to attempt to ford the river?"

She was kidding of course. "Well? What should we do?"

Magma - December 2, 2007 03:59 AM (GMT)
Magma listened to the others powers but of course began to let her mind wander a little when Binary made mention of her own powers, she of course knew her powers and the limits she had. Magma already was trying to come up wth a viable and quick way to get across in these bad conditions, bad maybe to others a normal spring day in Brazil for her storms where the norm in the seasons of it. She looked at the surroundings it wasn't the best of idea's she could come up with but if it worked then all four of them would get across with semi ease, that is if they would trust the judgement of a seventeen year old.

"If I may be so bold..but I have an idea that could work" she said speaking up after Binary had finished talking and really had asked there opinion, she was still just shy being new. "Since the wind will be getting worse and the river as well..I suggest that since two of this team has super strength that we take the nearest tree and fel it. And as I can..with some concentration bring up magma we use the tree and make it like a bridge. And I know I'm adventagous but I could use my lava capabilites to make the tree soild with lava cooled down by the rushing water" she said still not exactly sure if they would take her suggestion but she would offer it as a way to use teamwork and get the first part of this challenge over with, she just hoped her fathers planning skills had rubbed off on her well enough.

Psylocke - December 4, 2007 02:43 AM (GMT)
The purple haired bombshell stood in the danger room with Binary, Grim and the young girl called Magma. Violet orbs watched as the scene changed and turned into stormy scene, with a large, flowing river rapid. She quirked a brow. Well now, this would be interesting. SHe looked at Binary and listened to what the mission was.

"Alright. We're facing a river of dangerous speed and temperature, filled with rocks. Crossing the actual water is not an option. We have the following powers - I can fly, shoot concussive plasmic blasts, and am many times as strong physically as any non-mutant. Psylocke is a telepath of some merit and can teleport herself if necessary. Magma can project fire or raw heat, transform her body into a super durable fire condition, and potentially draw lava from beneath the earth's surface."

So, they had to get everyone across the river. That wouldn't be easy but it wouldn't be hard. It may have been a large, fast rapid flowing river, seemed treacherous and dangerous. But she could try to warp each of them across one by one. That would take a lot of her energy, but she was willing to risk it for the team.

After a few moments of contemplation, she stepped foraward, eyes on Binary. "Binary, It might take a lot out of me, but I could shadow-warp everyone across one by one." It would be dangerous, but she was all for the safety of the team.

"Since the wind will be getting worse and the river as well..I suggest that since two of this team has super strength that we take the nearest tree and fel it. And I know I'm adventagous but I could use my lava capabilites to make the tree soild with lava cooled down by the rushing water."

Binary offered a small smile to the new girl, but decided against her idea. "It's a good plan, but none of these trees are quite big enough on their own and even if they were-"
she pointed a finger at the sky. "I wouldn't want to be walking across a log over deadly waters in wind like this." She turned to Psylocked as she spoke, offering to simply shadow-warp everyone across one at a time. It wasn't a fanstastic option as it would exhaust the mutant and take several minutes.

"Let's do this," the team leader began "Psylocke will Shadow-warp across with Magma in tow, and I will take grim via flight." She grinned at the young man. "It won't be very glamorous having you dangling from my arm, but it's one way to get you from point A to point B."

Motioning the others to the edge of the water, she nodded, looking up worriedly as the storm worsened. Flexing her calves in preparation for the takeoff, she grinned at Grim as if to say 'ready?' Turning toward Psylocke and Magma, she nodded. "We'll meet you on the other side. It'll take me a few seconds to get across with the shear width of this river. I think that the programming has it getting longer the more time we take. Hopefully the ambush doesn't start the moment you get to the other side, but I guess we'll find out. Be on your guard!"

Grim - December 4, 2007 11:41 PM (GMT)
""Alright. We're facing a river of dangerous speed and temperature, filled with rocks. Crossing the actual water is not an option. We have the following powers - I can fly, shoot concussive plasmic blasts, and am many times as strong physically as any non-mutant. "Who has an idea to get us all across this water as quickly as possible? Is the best option for me to drag you each one by one? For Psylocke to shadow-warp herself across and fight out the rest of the challenge alone? For Grim to attempt to ford the river?"

This is what Grim heard as he stood in the middle of the room surround by three beautiful women with impressive powers. Especially Binary and Psylocke, of course he respect them just the same. Dark hazel hues shifted to Magma as she proposed her ideas for how to get over the river, which didn't seem very stable.

Psylocke will Shadow-warp across with Magma in tow, and I will take grim via flight." She grinned at the young man. "It won't be very glamorous having you dangling from my arm, but it's one way to get you from point A to point B."

His eyes then shifted to Binary, listening to her proposal, and perked a brow at her. He had never been flown by mutant before so this would be interesting. As he looked at Binary, he nodded. "Alright, let's do this then." His gruff, rugged voice replied, as he let his strong well-muscled legs carry him toward Binary.

He put a well-muscled, strong arm around her waist and readied himself. "Just hope ya can handle my weight." He said, not knowing if she had super strength or not. Didn't want her to drop him. Didn't like abrupt drops into raging waters, course it's not like he wasn't used to it.

Magma - December 5, 2007 09:28 AM (GMT)
Magma had of course been a bit crestfallen, but she knew her idea had been shaky at best she of course needed more time to plan all of her best ideas came from plotting things out that was why she was a follower and not a leader like that. Of course Magma had never seen her father make quick decisions before so she had no clue that he did it often, maybe that's why she had been so quick to offer a half cocked plan she knew wasn't going to work well, Ama just wanted to be something and keeping quiet was being nothing once more.

Magma nodded back to Binary and gave a clear look of acceptance, she of course was there team leader Ama had only expected that the Proffesor would pick the best of the school to lead them, she had just been glad that the leader had listened to her suggestion and not critiqued her too harshly that would have hurt her feelings for the rest of the day even after the exercise, which she hoped they would finish in a proper amount of time being that it was her first.

She walked closer to the purple haired woman called Psylocke and smiled at her "I am ready when you are" the brazillian girl said to her with slight inclination of her head to the water "I do hope the program gives us enough time to all get safely across..I would find it un-nerving if it didn't even the ruthless of villians do" she said out of sheer knowledge after having lived as a near princess for her whole life and then being captured twice in her seventeen year exisitance one after the other.

Binary - December 6, 2007 07:11 AM (GMT)
Binary nodded as Magma moved closer to Psylocke. The two would reach the other side a good ten seconds before Carol and Dorian. She hoped that they wouldn't be ambushed by the simulation, but there was really no way to be sure. She figured they could handle themselves - and if not, Carol would be right behind them to wreak some serious havoc on anything that got in her way.

"Alright, let's do this then."

Binary took one last glance at the last two mutants, nodding at Psylocke- the older and more experienced of the two. She would have to call the shots if an ambush started immediately upon her arrival to the other side. She was much older and more experienced than Amara. Carol let Grim wrap his arms around her waist and similiarly did the same to him.

"Just hope ya can handle my weight."

Carol shot him a look that said "seriously?" and rose into the air with ease. She resisted the urge to hoist him under her arm or something like that. She didn't want to scare him into a struggle or anything. She technically could have lifted all three of the other mutants across - but this challenge was not about her showing off her own powers- it was about her teammates working together.

Psylocke - December 8, 2007 07:48 AM (GMT)
"We'll meet you on the other side. It'll take me a few seconds to get across with the shear width of this river. I think that the programming has it getting longer the more time we take. Hopefully the ambush doesn't start the moment you get to the other side, but I guess we'll find out. Be on your guard!"

"Right." Psylocke replied with a nod to Binary. She was used to situations like this, having to shadow-warp herself and one other from one place to another. Her powers were actually very skilled and honed, therefore, there was a very slim chance that she would mess anything up. Not that she would, she was too well trained to mess up.

Deep violet orbs shone in the light, attentive as she watched the blonde lava girl called Magma walk over to her. She smiled and gave her a nod. "Now don't worry, you'll be fine." She said as she put her arm around Magma's shoulders. "Hold on."

She just hoped that they wouldn't get ambushed or attacked. She hated that, but, she was always ready for anything. With a deep inhalation, she closed her eyes, both her and Magma melted into the shadows below them. It was simple really, shadow in, shadow out. Before Magma would knowwhat just happened, both she and Pyslocke had appeared out from shadow made by a tree on the other side. "You okay?" She asked, wondering if she had any side affects from the warp. Usually no one did, but she always checked just in case.

Binary - December 13, 2007 07:36 AM (GMT)
Luckily for everyone, nothing seemed to attack immediately as Psylocke arrived on the other side of the river, Magma in tow. Binary glanced down at Grim whom she was carrying across. She grinned - "You doing okay down there?"

Carol looked up to check on the other two and breathed a sigh of relief - too soon. Materializing out of nowhere, a squadron of Danger Room robots came at the pair in a flurry. They had all dealt with these before, but that didn't make it much fun.

"Look out!" Carol shouted as one materialized within feet of the two girls. Instantly, her free hand extending, glowing red. Less than a second later, a plasma blast fired from it, knocking the robot back and blackening its front.

Binary landed quickly, releasing her charge and dashing forward. She assumed he'd follow, but didn't bother looking back. One of the robots materialized in front of her, so she grabbed it by the wrist and flung it at one of its comrades. What was the fun in having super strength if you didn't use it.

Reaching the other two young women, she fired off a pair of plasmic blasts and turned to Psylocke. Besides herself, the psion was probably the most experienced on the team. "You stick with Magma, work together." She pointed. "Try to make it to that rock over there. From there we can regroup and try to figure out where this hostage is being held."

She turned back to Grim. "You- stick with me. Let's get to it."

Magma - December 15, 2007 05:07 AM (GMT)
Magma had been slightly in shock after the warping from the other side, nothing physical just a newness shock it wasn't a bad feeling it just made your inside feel all non-substansial for a moment before you came back to them. This action of course had delayed her response to Psylocke but she nodded her assent to the older woman, she of course was pefectly fine.

The show of the robots was starteling for a moment before her fighting insticts kicked in and she was watching them ready for the attack luckily Binary was faster with her powers than Magma could be even ready with her mind. Magma was glad to have a team to rely on doing this challenge, on her own being the first real time she had ever fought like this would have been detrimental to her well being. "I am ready" she stated with a nod of her head the determination to show her loyalty and skills was present in her eyes right then as she waited for Psylocke to go with her.

"When you say to move I will be there with you in an instance" she said to Psylocke as she kept her left hand balled close to her side turning it now into a glowing red fire hazard that if need be she could hurl at the robots..fire over heat that's just what she prefered she just hoped they wouldn't be in need of her lava powers in this jumble attack as that was the most unstable part of her ablilities, not the use of the lava but calling it up in the first place she could unintentionally cause the mansion to crumble if she it the wrong fault line.
