Basic Physical Description: Christian isn't very infatuated with his appearance. In fact, he's never been a real supporter of people who cares so much about what they look like on the outside. He got most of his physical attributes from his father. He has brown, lengthy hair. He has a sun-kissed skin tone with a light layer of freckles upon his smooth skin. One of the major differences between him and his father is their noses. His father had more of a bulkier nose than her son. Christian had a thinner and pointier nose, not much different from his mother's. His lips are naturally pink, covering his beautiful pearly whites.
Even though Christian got almost all facial attributes from his father, he certainly didn’t get his height from his father. His father was a rather short man all throughout his life, which Christian never inherited this feature. He stands at a bit over an average 5 feet and 9 inches above sea level and weighs around 150 lbs. People always compliment his great slim figure. He has never been too skinny or too thick. He has always sustained a model-like figure for his age.
Christian is usually found wearing anything comfortable. Whether that means just a tank top and sweats, or a pretty silk dress. If it isn't comfortable, he won't wear it. He doesn't care what others think about him much, a majority of the time being about his looks. However, when he was little, he was teased quite a bit by his jealous older sisters. He's grown not to care as much and would rather wear no shoes. Inside, you will rarely discover him wearing any type of shoes or socks. Free and comfy is what sums up his style the best.
Personality: Christian has always been the sweet, kind and down to Earth type of guy. Not to mention he's actually kind of stubborn. He's a hippie; all about peace, a vegetarian, the whole nine yards. One of his favorite things to do is to make new friends. He's quite the bit of a jokester as well. Playing tricks on others with his mutant abilities and such. He's not as goody-goody as he is portrayed. The boy has depth to his personality as well as anyone around here. He is as "normal" as mutantly possible. He makes mistakes, has hobbies, and he spends most of his life on the ground considering all of the times he trips. Another thing - he's a major cluts.
He trips a good total of 20 times a day. When he's not tripping, he is bumping into something or someone. Christian has always been known as the cluts. Whether it was with his family or here at the school. As long as it's not a serious injury, he will laugh at himself and with others if they decide to laugh as well. He sees no shame in being true to yourself and laugh about it on the way. He is funny, energetic, and just an all around nice person. But practically everything about Christian is changed once his split personality comes to play.
"Nous", what his split personae decided to name himself, is almost the complete opposite from "Christian". Nous even eats meat while awake, but probably just to piss off his opposing personae, Christian. "Nous" is said to be the suppressed emotion that Christian usually puts off in order to keep his calm and easy personality at bay. So at times of over stress, Nous is able to emerge as none other than himself and do what he pleases without "Christian", or anyone else for that matter, holding him back. Some say that "Nous" is also Christian's actual inner desires but it is difficult to put a point on Nous's reason for existence or reasons for doing what he does.
Nous is evil and ungenerous to anyone he pleases. He's more of a "hands on" type of person. Someone who goes 100% for whatever he wants including material necessities, men, etc. But just because he is out, doesn't always mean destruction is going to come. It is all a matter of what he is in the mood for; which usually plays off of the reason of arising (why Christian was stressing). The only thing that the two personae really have in common is playing tricks on others. And even that is a bit different. Christian's pranks are harmless and just funny, where as Nous's pranks usually involve someone getting hurt and he's most likely the only one laughing about it.
Put these two together, and you'd have one good party on your hands. As you may have guessed, they are basically twins that are as much alike as a rat and a whale. They both despise each other and fight to keep the other suppressed. It is a daily struggle to keep himself at bay but Christian has learned to live with it. He gets migraine headaches almost daily from the fight he must uphold to restrain Nous.
Mutant Powers: Christian is a telapath with numerous psionic abilities. By his will and concentration, he could access each of his developed abilities. Of course, alike every other mutant on the planet, he still has growing to do, no matter how much he has developed already. Like any other telepath, he has the ability to read minds and project his thoughts into the minds of others. His powers are so vast that the other persons don't even need to be near him. Although, he does have a limit within the radius of a few miles.
- TELEPATHIC ILLUSION - He is capable of distributing realistic telepathic illusions and cause people to experience events which are not actually occurring. These illusions go as far as allowing the influenced being to feel, smell, hear, see, and taste as they would in an actual event. Christian can inflict illusions upon a room full of people, in which each person has a different illusion. While in an illusion, the person falls into a rather sedated state and is rendered unconscious for the time span of the illusion. With his illusions, he can also influence one's dreams and/or nightmares. But whatever happens in the illusions and/or corrupted dreams does not play out afterwards (i.e. if you get a cut in the illusion, you do not when you awaken).
- MIND POSSESSION - The ability to possess the mind of another, and use that beings body as his own. All the while he is in control of his own body and doing as he pleases. Although he can inflict illusions to more than one person, he most certainly cannot do the same in mind possession. He can only possess one mind at a time. He is actually able to "tell" the person (if a mutant) to use their powers in anyway he sees fit.
- CLAIRVOYANCE - Chris has the unaided ability to visually percept distant objects, persons, or events. This generally refers to the reception of present-time information. Such as figuring out who is where and what they're doing wherever Chris may be. He can even find out where an object's exact position is. He practically "sees" it in his mind when he closes his eyes. It's like a movie that plays out in his head. But sometimes, when something is somewhere where he doesn't recognize stuff around it, he won't be able to tell where it is. Even though this power is vast and can reach to each end of the world, he sometimes cannot pin point exactly where stuff is.
- GENETIC READING - Chris can read the genetic make-up of any given person in a matter of seconds. He can sense things such as the person's hair color, eye color, and even if they are a mutant without even looking at them. He even gets a reading if the person is a homozygous or heterozygous, dominant or recessive, etc. (for example, if a person is a dominant brunette but still has a chromosome with a trait of blonde hair that he/she could give to their children that makes them blonde). This also includes sex-linked traits and disease traits. And with this, he can also read what the X-Gene (of a mutant) carries (i.e. what their mutation is).
- PSIONIC BLASTS - Chris is capable of manipulating his psionic energy, creating a concussive blast from any part of his body. The energy comes out as a purple hue that can knock back any tangible object/person. He can also utilize this as an extension of his powers and make it into any form he pleases. He can even make use of the tangible psionic energy as a shield to protect himself and/or others around him. In addition, he can even make the energy into an intangible force of blinding purple light.
Other Abilities/talents:- Swimming/Diving; in the mutant circus, before you are able to hone your power, they still don't want you not participating. So before being enabled to use their mutant abilities, they are given a regular, sort of "normal", performance. Christian's happened to be to the water show and was taught how to swim and dive very precisely. He knows all of the tricks and downfalls of swimming and absolutely loves it.
- Gymnastics; practically all of the circus members were great gymnasts. Highly flexible and capable of all moves and tricks. Christian actually learned from a family friend whose power was heightened flexibility (elasticity and durability). Of course he would never be as good as the mutant, he is as good as humanly possible. Being a great gymnast also made him a great combatant including Mixed Martial Arts. Not to mention dancing as well (mostly ballet).
- Singing; if you've ever heard a mystical voice humming or singing a musical tune in the dark, it was probably Christian. One of his favorite things to do is to sit in the dark, and just sing his heart out. That is basically one of the only things he's very secretive about; his singing. The only people he ever let hear it were his two sisters, and for their own personal gain, they ridiculed that too. It caused Christian to never let it be known that he had a belting voice.
- Dancing; as mentioned before, gymnastics did help him in lots of different types of dances. The one he was known for was his French ballet. As an opening for his mother's "gypsy" act, Christian and his sisters would perform a ballet number and like almost everything else, Christian shined brighter than his sisters.
- Foreign Speaker; very fluent in French, Russian, English and Spanish. He learned from his bilingual parents and family friends that were from all over the world. Although, it did take him from when he was able to speak to the day he ran away to be able to speak them all fluently.
- Quick Learner; teach him anything and he is usually at least on the right track to learning. Somethings do take a bit longer, depending on the level of the lesson. But it's still faster than a "normal" human being. Far beyond the anyone's comprehension. It is how he got to learn the numerous talents and abilities and how quick he learned them in. This also qualifies as giving him a very, very good memory.
- No Nerves; no, not the nerves in his nervous system. The butterflies you get in your stomach as you question yourself about a certain situation before actually doing it. He rarely gets nervous for anything. His hippie lifestyle gives him a sense of "whatever happens, happens". The usual things that people worry about aren't even a thought in Christian's mind. The main things he gets really worked up over are usually world-wide situations.
- Weaponry; he's good with just about anything you give him. He uses his surroundings well and thinks fast. He can make a small detached pipe into a useful weapon if he could get his hands on one quick enough. He's good with things from kitchen knives to actual guns. Again, all of this skill has come from his background in the circus. Just about everyone knew how to do things like juggle flaming hot sticks and dodge flying knives.
Basic History: Christian Boyer grew up in a traveling circus. It included his immediate family and close friends. Unlike lots of mutants and their backgrounds, Christian's whole family were mutants and formed a circus before Christian and his three siblings were born. It was the year 1981 when his parents founded the "Downside Up Circus". Mathieu and Pauline Boyer, the parents and owners of the circus, thought it'd be fun to create a circus with close mutant friends. They used their abilities to draw in a small crowd that eventually became a big hit in Canada. Mathieu played as the Ringmaster using his abilities of empathy and telekinesis. Pauline played the "gypsy", using her abilities of precognition and postcognation. Chris' two older twin sisters, Marie & Marine used their abilities of umbrakinesis and photokinesis. Last but not least, his twin sister, Melanie used her abilities of pyrokinesis to wow the crowd. Along with the other participants, they made up a circus that traveled around Canada for years. It was only coincidence that the two parents had all mutant children and happened to be two pairs of twins. Customers thought it was all an act, but they were wrong.
Each offspring had to grow and hone their powers before enabled to perform as well as the other members. Their parents felt strongly about having control over each power before putting guests at risk. Christian grew up believing almost the opposite. He thought that their powers weren't for using and abusing for other's entertainment. However, he did learn how to use and control his powers with the help of the other members. The older twins grew jealous that Christian and Melanie had developed "better" powers at even an earlier age than they did. No matter how much they denied it.
Naturally, most siblings grow up with a slight rivalry. The two sets of twins were almost to the point of hatred. Marie and Marine felt "pushed aside" since Christian and Melanie were born and resented them for it. Their life purpose was to out show their younger siblings and put them down, any chance that they got. At least they achieved the second part. They were constantly ridiculing the two for everything they did. Including their intelligence, looks and even performances. All the ridicule resulted in Christian developing a duel personality.
Before everyone was able to differentiate the two personalities, the other half of Christian's personality began to refer to himself as Nous. Nous is released at times of high stress. Soon enough, Nous was known by the entire circus and was some what frightful. Some avoided him, some did not. "Nous" actually became Christian's stage name and was a favored performer by the circus' customers.
One day, Christian grew annoyed with the constant demanding of the abuse of his powers and himself. It was the morning before the opening in Ottawa. By this time, their circus had been blown up into a huge showing and people were scratching at the mentioning of their show tickets. This was the big break where actual news critics were attending. Everyone had to be at the top of their game. Of course everyone one was sweating bullets from the pre-show butterflies. Things never got better as time went on. More and more things seemed to be going wrong. But the one mistake they made was extending and changing Christian's performance. He was the "poster boy", meaning he was the one on every poster since he was the star performer. Christian was engulfed with anger and frustration when they announced the alterations. Soon, he wasn't even Christian anymore. Nous was released once again, but this time he actually left, and with a bang. He destroyed the whole circus in rage and fled. The only person he felt bad for after leaving and returning to his natural self, was his twin sister, Melanie.
After leaving the circus in a frenzy, Chris was left alone, roaming the streets of Ottawa. Since he was born, even though they traveled at least once a week, Christian never got to explore the places he has been. They would enter each city strictly for business and showings and would get right down to training and practice. Christian always disliked that and would want to rebel against that and explore the numerous sights but never got to. He wandered the Canadian cities for 3 years before realizing that he would love the experience of traveling further than Canada. After the 3 years of retracing the steps of his family's traveling circus, he wanted to go bigger. More specifically, the United States.
Christian then decided to hitch a ride on a plane to New York, NY. He went to the airport, figured out which plane was leaving to the U.S. and hopped on it first thing. He was so excited, he couldn't wait until the plane landed. He was already amazed by the airport, he couldn't wait to get out and explore this place. As soon as he started interacting with other people, he knew he would be there for a good portion of his life or maybe the rest of it. He jumped over the grass, and ran with the wind through his hair.
Only after a couple weeks, he had heard about Revolution Academy from someone who attended the school. It was someone who had seen Christian using his powers and knew right away they should tell him about the academy. The stranger filled him in on what the school was all about and Christian was very interested. It was just that Christian wasn't finished with exploring on his own. Seeing what this country was all about. Christian left with the intentions of coming back. He went on to visit the remaining 49 states and even took a detour to Mexico. All together it summed up to about 3 years. He explored only a couple cities in each state, but that was enough for his content. The same year when he was staying in Kansas, he headed back to New York, remembering there was something there for him.
After arriving, it took him a few weeks to find the Academy but a bit late. And here came Christian Boyer. He stayed there for a year, not really a student or an X-Man. He lived under their roof, mostly just to get a better understanding of what the place was all about. Soon after his anniversary of the day he was welcomed, he became an X-Man. He was more than happy to refer to this place as his new home.
It is not known whether or not his family's circus went on to pursue it's shows. Christian seems to remember a blurry vision of finding out that the circus has moved on to the United States. Although, he hasn't thought of it much since his departure from Canada. Nous has made a few more appearances since the circus incident, none as destructive. None of the students know of his split personality. He'd rather have it hidden from the people that may look up to him. Only the veteran X-Men know of it and it has yet to be leaked out. Christian awaits the day where he becomes out of control and Nous takes over once again. For the most part, he's been happy and content with his living arrangements and isn't planning on moving out anytime soon. He loves the atmosphere and personalities that fill the school. It was one thing he certainly missed from the old days with the circus; ultimate diversity. Now, if only his family could see how happy he was, his life would be closer to completion. But even before then, he is happy with what he has and wouldn't trade it for the world.
