Basic Physical Description: Lorna Dane is quite a sight to behold. Long, shapely, legs and curves in all the right places. She moves with a grace that shows she’s quite comfortable with herself. She has a shock of light green hair that falls down past her shoulders and a pair of dark green eyes to match. She has a bit of permanent smirk or devious expression on her face.
Personality: Straight-Forward - Lorna is a force to be reckoned with and not just in her powers as she is very forward and direct. She will often charge forward into a situation with little to no regard for the consequences, whether it be good or bad. It's this tenacity that can either get her into a whole lot of trouble or get her what she wants. Either outcome is possible with her. She is very relentless in her desire to get what she wants, or whatever she is doing at the time.
Stubborn - While this can directly linked to her tenacity, it deserves it's own class as Lorna's stubbornness can be not be outmatched at times. Once she sinks her teeth into something, it is near impossible to get her to release it, or loosen her grip at any rate. This can be both a blessing and a curse as while it can be an endearing trait it can be quite irritating for a person to try an move her from her decision. Another thing, she is not a person who can resist a dare.
Playful - While Lorna is, by no means, an immature individual, she does have her moments of being silly. If she is friends with a person she will playfully tease them, and can play minor pranks on a person when she finds it entertaining to do so.
Sarcastic - She is a wonderously playful individual, but alot of her comments tend to drip with sarcasm or malice. At times, Lorna can even be a little cruel in the way she speaks to people as she has a slight holier-than-thou attitude about her. Once she realizes she has offended a person, however, it might take her a long long time to do so and alot of convincing that she needs to but she will apologize.
Loyal - Once a person manages to get past her intial defensers, and her bullshit, Lorna can be a great friend to have on your side. She has unshakable loyalty to a person that she cares about, and will jump up in an instant to defend them. This has a fault however, because it can lead to being easily taken advantage of, not to mention if she is betrayed she tends to be angered alot more than perhaps she should be.
Mutant Powers: The most noticeable thing about Lorna’s powers is her natural green hair. Polaris has the mutant ability to manipulate magnetic fields. While she has the capability of exercising all the same powers as Magneto, as yet she can only use powers involving the manipulation of magnetic, electrical, and graviton fields. She can levitate metallic objects, although the exact weight of what she can lift has not been measured as if yet, but it is considerably lower than that of Magneto. She also has the capability of creating a force field which she can use to suspend a person or object into the air or protect them from attacks on the outside.
By concentrating, Polaris can perceive the world around herself as strictly as patterns of magnetic and electrical energy. She can view and sense the magnetic aura that surrounds living beings, which enable her to sense when a certain person is at her door. If she is familiar enough with the person she can tell who is knocking on her door, or approaching her, simply by their magnetic aura. Also in her possession is the ability to alter the gravitational fields around her which enables her to fly.
Weaknesses: Despite all the wondrous capabilities at her command, Lorna’s powers are indeed significantly weaker than what her true potential could actually be. Due to her reluctance to use her powers in a battle she has not had as much practice with them as other mutants have. There is a certain limit of metallic objects that she can lift, although that limit has not been measured, it is indeed far lower than Magneto. She can only hold the force field she creates for about five to ten minutes at a time before a headache explodes inside of her brain. She can be shot with a bullet if she doesn’t react quickly enough.
Her hesitation to use her powers in battle comes from the fear that she will end up losing control mentally and go on a murderous spree. Lorna is a type of person that is easily seduced by power so if she were to harness her powers to the point of complete control and to the full extent of her potential than she might become consumed by it.
Other Abilities/ talents: Since she rarely relies on her powers for battle situations, Lorna trained in Hand-To-Hand combat, she’s not perfect at it, but can get by. She enjoys shopping (what woman doesn’t?) and does it on occasion. But that is nothing compared to her love for geophysics, and she is currently in college to get a master’s degree on the subject. She enjoys physical excercises, such as jogging in the morning in order to keep herself in shape.
Basic History: Lorna Dane's exact place of birth is unknown as her parents were killed in a plane crash just weeks after she was born. She was adopted by her mother's sister and brother-in-law and raised in a very caring atmosphere. Of course the fact that she was a mutant was noticable early on as her hair was naturally green. In a desire to keep her from being looked at as a freak, the Danes dyed her hair brown, which she later picked up when the choice was given to her whether or not to do so. Her green hair was the only outward sign of her mutant abilities because a certain genetic factor which would have allowed her to use her powers were dormant. It did not kick in until one day when she was fourteen years old.
She was out with a bunch of guy friends (she seemed to make friends with males rather than females) at a lake. They explored the terrain and came upon a cliff that overlooked the lake. She watched as each of the boys jumped off the cliff in order to prove how masculine they are to one another, as she was considered one of the boys, they dared her to do the same. While she was rather sure that it was a dumb idea, Lorna was not a person who could resist a dare. So she stood on the edge of the cluff and looked down at all her friends swimming in the lake, she promptly called out that she was more of a man than all of them combined and jumped into the lake. However, she misjudged her angle and ended up smashing her head against a rock upon landing. Thankfully the boys noticed she was not coming up and pulled her out of the lake. She was in the hospital for 4 weeks due to her head injury. The head trauma jumpstarted her powers which turned out to be a little more than she could control.
After a couple months of keeping herself secluded in her room because of her inability to control her powers, as she kept leviatating things around her and her mother home schooled her, she was able to put them under a small amount of control. This allowed her to return to school and she passed through the years with no real castastrophe. When she graduated she learned that she had been adopted and that her real parents had been killed. While she felt the intial shock that any normal person would have, she got over it quick enough because she loved her parents. She moved out on her own,

Note: In reference to her power description, it is not hinting any connection to Magneto in anyway; it is just in there as a way to show the exact difference between her and Magneto’s powers as they are very similar in other ways.
