Basic Physical Description: Jessica Deveaux was once a model, so she's naturally drop-dead gorgeous. She stopped modeling at the age of fifteen but she still participates in her previous activities to keep in shape: working out at the gym, eating right, that sort of thing. As a result, she's also quite slender, although not in that sickly way - in the wow-I-wish-I-could-look-like-her way. Shopping is also one of her favorite pastimes which is why her closets and droors are stuffed to the brim and why she always has on the latest must-have.
Her pale blonde hair never looks out of place (not even when she first wakes up in the morning) and her navy blue eyes are always glistening with that distinct twinkle that makes one wonder if she's possibly daydreaming about her favorite fantasy or mentally gazing into the future in that seventeen-year-old sort of way that most teens are caught doing. Her nails are hardly ever without paint - mostly black - and whenever she's seen in public she always looks pretty flawless; she doesn't plan for it that way, though - she's not the type of girl to spend hours on end primping and curling and molding - it just sort of . . . happens. Naturally.
Personality: If Jessica were to be summed up in a few short words, they would be the following: Outgoing. Friendly. Flirtatious. Hyper. Mischevious. Wicked.
Like most teenage girls, life is a party - one she wants to crash. Jessica is always making new friends (and enemies) wherever she goes and she hardly ever likes staying indoors. She flirts with anything that moves. . . anything that moves and is male, that is; even if she's not interested in the guy. It's just a hobby, some would say. She's extremely outgoing and ambitious; but then there are those 'few' (many) occasions where her sharp tongue and vivacious attitude gets her into trouble - usually with girls. Girls don't seem to like her all too much (perhaps that has something to do with the fact that Jess is always trying to steal their men or blackmail them), unlike guys who generally seem to love her. Since she listens to music a lot, many bits of her personality comes from that. For example, if she's listening to upbeat dance music she'll feel upbeat and like dancing; on the contrary, if she's listening to metal or slow gothic music her thoughts may take her to some distant, depressing memory of her past.
She wasn't always so flirtatious and upbeat, though. Before her seventeenth birthday, Jessica was generally a very soft-spoken and shy young woman. In fact she barely spoke at all. During her freshman and sophomore year at high school she had no friends. . . Well, actually she had one: the music on her iPod. She was once also a very depressed and troubled girl, mainly due to her rocky past including her family, friends (or lack thereof), and an unwanted physical encounter with a boy that she's never breathed a word about. It was when she turned sixteen and was taken out of her home, being place in a mental institution instead, that her personality began to take a turn for the 'better' and she became the girl she is today.
Mutant Powers:
Invisibility: Jessica's first-discovered and most-practiced mutant talent would be her invisibility; the power to render herself invisible at will. She does this by bending all wavelengths of light around her body. She can also direct enough undistorted light to her eyes, making her able to see while in her unseen form. When she's under the guise of her invisible form, most technology cannot detect her, making her generally unseen by all mankind. There have been several instances where she's been detected by a few select and very high-tech pieces of machinery, however, such as heatvision goggles, etc.
Teleportation: Not long after turning seventeen on March sixth, Jessica discovered a secondary mutation that her body possessed: the ability to transport herself from one place to another. This first only occured when she was in a dire or life-threatening situation (it first occured when she was being mugged by a few men,) but she gradually came to the realiztion that she could teleport herself at will. At first she could only teleport a few feet at a time, but as she concentrated harder and trained her willpower, she was able to teleport as far away as one mile. This ability continues to grow, and since she can currently only teleport one mile at a time she has not accessed her full range as of yet.
These abilities combined make her almost unrealistic since she can be invisible and travel through teleportation fluidly at the same time, making it almost impossible to see her, much less catch her. It is also somewhat ironic that her abilities have to do with hiding oneself since she is such a vivacious and outgoing person. Still, her current attitude and outlook on life somewhat belies the person she was in the past: stand-offish; tucked away; silent . . . Invisible.
Weaknesses: One of the main weaknesses that Jessica's abilities possess is the fact that they are still growing meaning she does not always have as full grasp on them as other more trained mutants. She first discovered her invisibility when she was fourteen and since she is only seventeen now she has yet to fully learn their complete range and be able to control them at her will. Her invisibility is her strongest suit at the time, but there are still several loopholes that come with it, as usual. First off, Jessica thinks that while she's invisible, absolutely nothing can see her, not the naked eye nor high-tech machinery. While this belief is mostly true, there are a few ways people can detect her without her knowing, the two most common being by x-ray or heatvision. Jessica cannot turn other objects or people invisible, either, like some of the other Marvel characters are free to do; she can only turn herself unseen to the naked eye.
Then comes her secondary-mutation. One of the major weaknesses that this ability comes along with is its randomness and her lack of control on the power to teleport: she has to concentrate especially hard in order to teleport somewhere (it typically doesn't work while she's surrounded by a crowd or extremely distorted/distracted as of yet) and the farther the location, the more relaxed and alone she must be in order to transport successfully. If she does not possess enough energy or willpower and her teleportation 'malfunctions,' she either does not go anywhere at all or she travels just a few inches, no matter how far she was intentionally going to teleport. Besides, she only found out about her secondary mutation nine months ago, making it impossible for her to be able to understand it or take hold of it fully at the time. Eventually, she will come to be able to transport other objects and people with her when she does, but not currently.
Other Abilities/ talents: Jessica is very flexible from all her workouts and she can move quite gracefully. She's also modeled for popular magazines such as Vogue and Seventeen. In addition, she's an excellent singer, although since she still has a bit of insecurity left over from her past, she never lets people hear her sing. Jess loves writing poetry and painting, as well, although she's honestly not sure if she's got at either hobby.
Basic History: Jessica Deveaux was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, to a considerably normal mother and father. Her parents, Charles and Francine, were quite well off, her father holding a job in the security division at the courthouse and her mother being a dentist. Ever since birth, Jessica's been a very shy girl, hiding behind her pale blonde bangs and looking at her feet as she walked. As she grew into a young woman, though, her silence somehow gained an air of mystery and became thicker. This is mostly because her father was hardly ever home, always working late shifts at the courthouse - and whenever her mother was home, all Francine talked about was her work and how stressed out she was. Because of this, the young girl basically had to look after herself at the age of thirteen, which poked serious holes in her self esteem. She never felt any support or love from her family despite the fact that she was an only child, and as a result she was a decided outcast at her high school; the only 'friend' she had was her Mp3 player which her parents had given her on her thirteenth birthday.
When Jessica was fourteen years of age, her father was shot exactly seven times in the chest while he was on duty at the courthouse. As usual, it was plastered all over the news, sweeping across every television screen in the nation. It was the Deveaux family's worst nightmare. Even though he'd rarely been around, Charles had always secretly been Jessica's favorite, mostly because she could talk to him about 'important stuff' whenever he was at home; she could basically confide in him. After Charles' death, not only was Jessica deeply hurt, Francine became even more distant and depressed. She was fired from her job, considered 'inadequate' since all she did was daze out the window or cry all over her patients. After she was fired, Francine filed for social security and accepted help from food stamps . . . Somehow, Jessica's classmates found all of this out and began bullying her since she was now 'getting help.' She'd thought her life was terrible just being ignored, but she was beginning to find out that being in the spotlight was far worse. Feeling like she couldn't confide in her mother (who was now seeing a therapist,) Jessica resorted to cutting herself - never too deep, never enough to die. Just enough to feel the scream inside.
Her and her mother's financial struggles only increased as time went on; they couldn't afford to pay their mortgage. This inspired Jessica to seek out a job, so she took the Metro to Manhattan and applied everywhere she could. While she was in the Les Best boutique, one of the famous fashion designers' minions noticed her and thought she had the perfect look for an upcoming runway show that winter. He'd pay her seven-hundred dollars to do simple snapshots and strut down the catwalk in Les Best's clothing. Jessica was, of course, quite hesitant, not only because her confidence was low but because she'd never thought of herself as the modeling type - That is, until she saw the designs she would be wearing in the show: they were all unique, dark, intriguing and complex. She told him she was interested and at the fashion show several weeks later she was spotted by a few fashion magazine editors who liked her look. Jessica signed on with Seventeen and Vogue and began a professional modeling career.
When she went back to school after winter break, it seemed that she was now quite popular - due only to her fashion show debut and spreads in world-famous magazines, no doubt. She was invited to a party a few days after her return and when she'd gone, she found herself dancing with the hottest and most-popular guy in school. Still being a little naive (and not exactly knowing what went on at 'these types of parties'), she followed him to his car where he attacked her. It was only after he was finished that she was able to fight him off and when she got up to run away she was able to do so without being stopped by anyone in the party, not even her own rapist. When she looked down she saw why: her entire body was gone; simply . . . Invisible. It only happened for a few minutes and as soon as it was over Jessica ran back home, scared of herself and what she might be becoming. She told her mom everything that happened, but Francine refused to believe her story, worried that her daughter might have been on drugs or slipping into insanity.
It was only several weeks after her debut in the fashion world when Jessica's mother began searching the house up and down, out of suspicion. It didn't take long until she found the Exacto knives hidden under her daughter's bed in her room. Francine questioned Jessica about this and asked to see her wrists - of course the scars were still there, forever marking Jessica's skin and reminding her of every problem she'd ever had. Francine was furious and the two engaged in their first all-out arguement. Jessica's mom told her that she already had 'enough on her plate without adding more to the mix,' so she began doing research online where she found an in-patient mental institution for young girls called Breakaway, in Conneticut. Jessica found all this out by viewing the Cookies on their computer.
Their relationship with eachother once again became strained which only persuaded Francine to send her daughter off even more - which she soon did. Convincing that the government that her daughter's behavior was life-threatening, Francine got their insurance to pay for it. Jessica was sent to the facility immediately under the claim by her mother that she was rebellious, self-mutilating, and mentally unstable. The first day Jessica spent in the institution was her sixteenth birthday. Much to the young blonde's surprise, however, seeing a psychologist and being around people that weren't that unlike herself felt . . . reassuring. She told no one about the fact that she was 'of a different species,' but she continued to practice and shape her invisibility in her dorm room late at night, when no one else was awake. It didn't take long for her to get a grasp on her powers, being able to control it at her own will. Her level of self-esteem rose considerably as she spoke to the others in Group and continued speaking with a therapist; she stopped her cutting and she was released from the institution a year later.
Still, though, she wanted nothing to do with her mother after she was let go, feeling betrayed and furious at her for not even bothering to get Jessica help without the assistance of doctors and nurses and pills. She ran away from home and lived on the streets of Manhattan for a while, deciding to keep it on the down low, and soon to discover her secondary mutation. It was one stormy night that she spent sleeping between a dumpster and a broken-down car in an alleyway when several large muggers stumbled down the alley, obviously drunk. As she took a closer look, she noticed that one of them was carrying a knife. Too frightened to even concentrate hard enough to make herself invisible, Jessica was spotted by the men in no time. They lunged toward her and grabbed hold of her arms, pinning her against the wall and tearing off her clothes. Just as she was about to have her worst nightmare relived, a new mutations kicked in: her body simply evaporated into thin air. She re-appeared a few seconds later at the open end of the alley. Before the men could figure out what to do (or wonder whether or not what was happening was even real,) Jessica ran away.
She refused to go home, though. She immediately told her manager at Les Best that she was quitting, sick of the photos of herself plastered all over taxis and billboards and windows. She got a job working at Henri Bendel instead, an upscale specialty women's clothing, shoes, and lingerie store in the city. Using her new income, she rented out an partment near Central Park where she currently resides. She knows nothing of the Brotherhood or the X-men . . . Yet, no doubt.

This app looks great! My only (small) request is a little expansion on the powers. Mostly, I just want a little more information on how the two abilities mesh, and a little more info on their limits.
Other than that. A+ :)
Okay, I added what you asked for. Hope that helps. =]
