Basic Physical Description: His physical appearance can change from day to day depending on his mood, but he's usually in a basic leopard form. The only real thing that can tell he's human is his black hair, that plus the intelligence that shines through his eyes. His hands are a little odd. His thumbs are farther back on his hand than normal, almost a dewclaw instead of a thumb. Because of this, he can't use pencils or eating utensils, so he usually just spears his food with his claws.

Personality: Calm and collected. His personality matches his appearance. He's patient and watchful, the perfect predator. Though like house cats, he has a soft side for people and can often come off as a big soft fuzz ball. He even likes to be pet and cuddled, though he only asks people if he knows they'd be comfortable with it.

Mutant Powers: He's an Anthro. He's always an attractive mix of feline and human. But he isn't restricted to one breed of cat. He can change his body from one kind to another almost instantly.
His natural appearance is his cheetah form. He'll change to different cats for different strengths in battle. He instinctively knows every strength of every cat he can change into.

Weaknesses: He can become easily fatigued if he shifts from one form to another too quickly, too often, often resulting in him losing consciousness. He usually sticks with one form he thinks can win in a fight. Most often, it is his natural form.

His mouth isn't suited to speak English. He knows how to talk and his vocal cords can produce a human voice, but he doesn't have the proper muscles needed to form vowels and consonants. His inability to speak properly makes it difficult to communicate. His hands are suited for picking things up and holding them, but he can't hold a pen and write something, so that makes things harder, especially when he forgets his palm pilot.

Sometimes while he's hunting or fighting, he can become feral and uncontrollable. The only ways to calm him are either a strong telepath or a strong tranquilizer dart. He tries to avoid hunting and fighting, but sometimes just the smell of something that can be considered prey can set him off. Because of this, he tends to stay inside as much as possible.

Other Abilities/ talents: He's perfected a new type of martial arts for his forms. It allows him to fight effectively as a man as well as a cat with minimal self injury. He is also fluent in every version of Sign Language

Basic History: He was born in a small tribe in Africa and his physical appearance was thought to be a gift from the gods, so he grew up thinking something like himself was normal. Once it was discovered he couldn't talk, the village developed a way to communicate with him, creating their own basic sign language developed from their spoken language. It was only when American missionaries came to the village that he found out he wasn't normal. The Americans spoke with him and told him about mutants, his mother translating what he was saying with his hands. He returned to America with the missionaries, wanting to know more about what he really was. They had him brought over saying he was being taken in by a private owner. That was when he was taken to Xavier's. He quickly made friends with a Technopath who created a palm pilot suited for his hands. Now able to communicate faster, he started making a few more friends among the Xmen. Wanting to fit in, he chose the name Gordon Kerry for himself, feeling this would help him fit in, though he never let go of his native name. His ability to change into different species of cats was discovered soon afterwards. He soon joined the team, wanting to be useful. He now lives in the castle.

Sample RP: Gordon walked silently through the halls of the castle. His Palm Pilot hung from a lanyard around his neck. His fur rippled over his body as he looked around. His tail swished slowly as he walked. He lifted his head a bit as he caught a scent. He looked over at the person as they approached, his ears perking up a bit.
He watched as the person nodded politely, then continued walking. He nodded back and sighed a little. He walked into the living room and hopped onto the couch. He picked up his palm pilot and tapped a few options. He turned the TV on and flipped through the channels, looking for something interesting. He stopped on the discovery channel and his ears lay back on his head. They were showing a program on Africa. He sighed a little and turned the tv off. He looked down at his pilot and started typing a letter to send home.

All sections need substantial expansion. Please see Application Format for our minimum paragraph lengths. Particularly personality, mutant powers, and history are very short.

Secondly, the sample RP does not represent a post length that we are generally in acceptance of here at MM. Your sample RP should be representative of your very best work, and should probably be at least three times larger than the submitted work.

Finally, we have seen a very large submission amount for shapeshifting, especially cat shape shifting. As we already have several mutants like this, we will need you to either change the powers or represent them in a new and unique way.
