Basic Physical Description: Jaime has many of the features of a girl her age, standing at 5'6" tall and weighing a slim 110 lbs. Her frame is rather petite, shoulders not particularly broad. She doesn't have much muscle on her due to the mental nature of what she does, but is still quick on her feet and in shape. She wears clothing complimentary to her body type, leaning more towards comfortable clothing rather than the flashy stuff. That's not to say she doesn't like dressing up every now and then, and can be seen a few times here and there in a nice dress or cute blouse.
Her dark brown hair hangs a little above the middle of her back, usually swept over her shoulder or worn in a long, low ponytail. Her eyes are striking blue, usually made up with a light dash of smoky eye makeup. These two contrasting features are complimented by her smooth, slightly tanned skin tone, hinting towards a diluted Mediterranean descent. She is what some may consider beautiful and others, "hot", but to herself she is rather ordinary and carries herself in that manner.
Personality: For all the hard times that she has had to endure, young Jaime has a rather cheerful disposition. She is an optimistic girl, very aware of her surroundings and herself. A practical jokester and a master of sarcasm, she is usually the life of the party, or at least the class clown. She has a good judge of character and is very driven and steady in her opinions and beliefs. She is a connoisseur of all types of music and can almost always be seen with her headphones on. Jaime is also rather intellectual, a deep thinker of sorts. She's one to ask why instead of accepting what is laid out in front of her.
She is a very dedicated friend but can be rather nosey at times and feels that she needs the acceptance of her peers to feel ok about herself. Though normally bright on the outside, it isn't surprising that Jaime carries her own dark side as well. When reminded of her past she will quickly clam up and change the subject, unable to confront what had happened. There are very few that she will really open up to, because she is afraid it will ruin the friendship.
Due to the mental aspect of Jaime's abilities, she has to maintain a great deal of psychological fortitude. The troubles she has gone through greatly affected her stability, and she has chosen to block out the negative moments of her past life, keeping them from her memory as much as possible. Jaime is still haunted with the guilt of what she did, no matter how long she tries to forget it. She just hopes that running from her past will keep the demons at bay.
Mutant Powers: Jaime has the incredible ability to warp the perceptions of other people's minds. These illusions she creates are so real to the person that they are perceived as reality. The sights, sounds, smells and tastes that she fabricates are extremely real to the person. This results in whoever Jaime chooses to be at the whim of her mental wishes, trapped in the mental world she has created. Though the effects are purely mental, they are capable of causing damage to the person either psychologically or physically, depending on what Jaime depicts.
The above description touches on what is possible for the future of her abilities. For now she is limited in what she can do mostly because of the setbacks she suffered while held in a cell, doped up. She can only create brief and simple illusions but with each attempt she grows a fraction in her experience and capability. Small illusions effecting one's sight and sound are easy, but she is far from completely immersing a person in a fully fabricated and intricate world. With the help of the professor she hopes to unlock more of her abilities.
Weaknesses: Though Illusion holds a useful power, it comes at a cost. Every time she uses her powers, there is recoil in the form of migraine headaches and immense physical strain. Some headaches are severe enough to cause hemorrhaging of the brain and loss of consciousness, but most are simply an excruciating experience. But, with each push of her limits she gains less recoil.
The strain on her body causes the feeling of sore muscles, at their worst feeling like the day after running a marathon. This means that small illusions would cause little to no discomfort, but elaborate and long winded fabrications would cause intense and nearly unbearable consequences. The more she uses her ability to its full extent or uses it often and practices the less of consequence she has to endure.
Also, Illusion's hold on another's mind can easily be broken by psychics, telepaths and other extremely strong willed and mind-focused individuals. With more experience and years of growth with her ability she may be able to overcome this. This is possible because her illusions are purely mental, with no true physical manifestations. Another mental weakness she has involves her past. The mention of her dark history causes a great deal of emotion stress on the young mutant, effecting her focus and in turn her abilities.
Other Abilities/ talents: None
Basic History: Born in Buffalo, New York on June 17th, 1990, Jaime entered the world just like many others. She had two loving parents, Jeremy Penter and Rose Penter, an older brother named Matt and soon a younger sister named Amy. Her way of life was comparable to anyone else's of her age and background. It was when she turned eleven that everything changed for both her and her family. The changes would shape her into the person she would become years later.
One night Jaime had a horrible nightmare involving her mother, and when she awoke it wasn't from her own screams but from those down the hall. Incidents like this continued until she realized that the nightmares she was experiencing and those of her mother were one and the same. But not only that, Jaime was unconsciously causing the horrible dreams. Without a means to control them, they continued and progressed into more and more gruesome fabrications of reality. Before long Jaime's mother was on the brink of insanity, and Jaime discovered that this ability worked past dreams and in consciousness as well. It wasn't long before she came clean to her family, but to late. Her mother committed suicide, unable to escape the morbid images that Jaime accidentally cast upon her every night.
Both for what she had done to her mother and because of her being a mutant, Jaime's family cruelly disowned her, sending her to a detention center where she was kept sedated and isolated so she wouldn't harm anyone else at the tender age of 13. After spending four years in a padded cell and heavily medicated, Jaime was losing hope and her grip on her own reality. She was out of touch with her ability due to the inhibitors that were used on her in the facility and losing her will to continue.
Life was desolate and unbearable at the facility, with every day consisting of the same regiment. Breakfast and meds, recreation time for an hour, cell time for three hours, lunch and meds, recreation time for thirty minutes, cell time for five hours, and so on. Recreation time consisted of all the doped up muties strolling about a poorly furnished room with early eighties hit movies playing over and over. It was enough to drive one insane, and did for some. Jaime kept quiet, speaking to no one and barely looking anyone in the eye for her entire stay.
She thought of it as a bad dream, a nightmare like the ones she had unintentionally conjured for her mother.
Hope finally four years after her admittance in the form of Professor Charles Xavier. He had heard of this facility and convinced the people who ran it to release some of the children into a better environment where they could be monitored and helped. It was only a few visits after that when Jaime met the Professor and his tutelage started, with the promise of a real home and real friends in the near future. With every visit and every session, Jaime grew in her abilities, harvesting a little bit of her potential with each time. After a year of times like this, it was finally Jaime's moment of freedom. She packed up her sparse valuables into a single backpack and took a cab to the Xavier Institute, intent on leaving her past far behind her back in the cell.
Illusion now resides in the Mansion, working to strengthen her ability and build trust with her new family. Things were alien to her but she knew it this new life was the best she could ask for. With every day she pushes her limits further, growing in her capabilities as both a mutant and a friend to those around her. She never looks back to her past, avoiding any mention of it at all. As far as she can see it, this is the life she was meant to live, and no other existed before it. She was given an incredible chance by an incredible man and didn't want to dwell on anything that came between it.

Sample RP: Jaime's fists clenched in concentration and strain as she focused on the boy in front of her. Zack had been committed to helping the young mutant with her ability since she arrived at the school a few weeks ago, so days like these were simply part of the routine. Besides, he couldn't help but enjoy his own personal dreams depicted so vividly to him. With a final push of effort Jaime whipped the young boy into a place much different than the room he was occupying just a moment ago. She controlled his perceptions now, his every sight, smell and touch. The comfortably decorated room was seamlessly morphed into a tropical oasis, Barbie doll-esque bikini clad blondes included.
Jaime couldn't help but grin as a look of pure wonder and excitement spread across Zack's face, the boy rising from his seat on the bed, or lawn chair rather, to approach one of the goddess like girls. It was so easy, not to mention fun, to toy with the simple boy's mind, finding it impossible to resist the urge to play around with him. All of the motions Zack was performing in his own dream world were happening in real life, and the onlookers in the room that had gathered were snickering with delight at the sight of it all. The spectators could see the boy's hands reaching out in a groping motion, then observe his look of shock and horror, but because they were not immersed in the illusion themselves they couldn't see what was happening in Zack's mind and understandably became slightly confused. Only the crafter of the illusion herself and her puppet knew that the bodacious blonde was now a saggy grandma, well through her eighties, fanny pack and extensive wrinkles part of the package.
"Aw c'mon Jaim! That's not funny!" Zack shouted as Jaime cut the illusion, unable to hold back her laughter.
"No, no I really think it was... If you could have seen your face!" She exclaimed, her little crowd nodding and grinning in agreement. "I'm sorry, I just had to." She said, giving her patient a little jab in the arm. He crossed his arms and shook his head, trying to get the nasty image out of his mind. But soon Jaime's laughing turned into groans of pain and discomfort as the effect of using her powers took hold. The rush of the migraine made her sway a bit, and a small bit of blood dripped from her nose, only to be hastily wiped away with the back of her hand. Instinctively she popped a few prescription ivuprofen to dull the pain. Either way, she knew the pain was worth the gain, because with every bit she endure the less she would be subject to next time.
"Thanks Zack... Same time tomorrow? I promise to be nice next time." She said, her grin not as easy to put on this time. The boy nodded, still looking a bit queasy as he walked away.

Hello and welcome!
A few things pre-acceptance. First of all, when you copied the application over to us some of the punctuation got messed up. If you could fix that it would improve the bio's readability.
Secondly, her powers need to be toned down. She should not be capable of causing death with her illusions no matter how real they are. Perhaps the fear could cause a person to black out, but the capability to kill with illusions makes her too powerful for this RPG. Please also remove "mind reading" as telepathy is on the list of overused OC powers. Make her powers all about illusion, not psionics.
Other than that, I see no other major issues here. :) Thank you!
Thanks for getting back to me so soon :) Sorry about all the punctuation problems, i don't know why it did that. I fixed them all i think, and edited everything you mentioned. Let me know what else you need done.
Thanks!
