Scott is average height and he is very clean cut. Scott has to were these ruby quartz glasses/goggles that protect everyone around him. Scott is a rather pale skin tone but he can easy tan from spending time outside. He is has a muscular built from doing all of his fighting training and what not.

Scott clothing style is a t-shirt and jeans and occasional leather jacket when he goes out riding on one of his many motorcycles. Or when he’s teaching at the Academy it’s a nice button up shirt and dress pants.

Personality:
Scott is lacking on the social skills but when you get to know him well enough he will start to open up. But he is good with tactics and developed exceptional leadership skills over time.

He is loyal to those close to him such as Jean Grey and Professor X. Professor Xavier saved his life from getting experimented on. He tries to be family oriented with his little brother Alex who is the only one immune to his power, and vice versa.

Mutant Powers:
Scott' eyes constantly fire red energy beams, which produce force, not heat, and are powered by solar energy. At full power these beams can punch through mountains.

However, Scott cannot control his power, and is forced to always wear a ruby quartz visor, glasses or goggles. He has an uncanny ability to compute trigonometric relations, which allows him to bounce his optic blasts with incredible accuracy. His greatest fear is losing control of his powers and hurting someone he cares for.

Weaknesses:
Power Regulation Disability: Due to psychological trauma and physical injury at a young age Scott is unable to control his optic blasts. In connection his eyes have become more reliant on the ruby quartz he uses rather then affecting change to the injury.

Other Abilities/ talents:

Expert Pilot: Scott is an expert pilot of fixed-wing aircraft, a skill he appears to have inherited from his father. It has also been implied that his trigonometric sense improves his abilities in the air.
Master Strategist and Tactician: Scott has spent most of his superhero career as the leader of either the X-Men or X-Factor and has developed exceptional leadership skills. It is notable that regardless of their general attitude towards him, all of the X-Men tend to obey his orders in battle - because they know that he's usually right.

Master Martial Artist: Scott also has extensive training in martial arts and unarmed combat, holding black belts in judo and aikido. His level of skill is sufficient to defeat six normal men with his eyes closed.

Basic History:
Scott Summers was the older of the two sons of Major Christopher Summers, a test pilot in the U. S. Air Force. When Scott was a child, Major Summers flew himself, his wife Katherine, and his sons Scott and Alex back from a vacation in his vintage private plane. The plane was attacked and set ablaze by a scout ship from the alien Shi'ar Empire. Katherine pushed Scott and Alex out the plane door with the only available parachute. The parachute was unable to slow their fall sufficiently to prevent Scott from suffering a head injury on landing. (The injury damaged the part of Scott's brain that would have enabled him to control his optic blasts.)

With their parents presumed dead, the authorities separated the two boys. Alex was adopted, but Scott remained comatose in a hospital for a year. On recovering, he was placed in an orphanage in Omaha, Nebraska that was secretly controlled by his future enemy, the evil geneticist Mr. Sinister.

As a teenager, Scott came into the foster care of Jack Winters, a mutant criminal known as the Jack O'Diamonds. After Scott began to suffer from severe headaches he was sent to a specialist who discovered that lenses made of ruby quartz corrected the problem. Soon after, Scott's mutant power first erupted from his eyes as an uncontrollable blast of optic force. The blast demolished a crane, causing it to drop its payload toward a terrified crowd. Scott saved lives by obliterating the object with another blast, but the bystanders believed that he had tried to kill them and rallied into an angry mob. Scott fled, escaping on a freight train.

Winters sought to use Scott's newfound talent in his crimes, and physically abused the young boy when he initially refused. However, Scott's display of power had attracted the attention of the mutant telepath Professor Charles Xavier, who teamed up with F.B.I. agent Fred Duncan in their mutual attempt to find Scott. Scott was rescued from Winters' clutches and was enlisted by Xavier as the first member of the X-Men, a team of young mutants who trained to use their powers in the fight for human/mutant equality.

As Cyclops, Scott became deputy leader of the X-Men. While he was a skilled tactician, his social skills were lacking. Scott had fallen in love with his teammate Jean Grey, but his reserved demeanor prevented him from expressing his feelings for her for years.

Sample RP:

Jarek was the first up and out of his dorms and down to the Gryffindor common room that was empty and Jarek processed with his morning work out with his sit ups, and push ups to start. When he was finished with his work out the common room started to have life in it.

But Jarek finished his morning routine with shower. And throwing on his pants and a clean shirt on. Then quickly putting on his shoes. Before he knew it he was out of the Portrait of the Fat Lady and walking down the many flights of stairs to eat breakfast in the great hall.

He immediately started causing a bit of trouble seeing his fellow mates at the Gryffindor table. Jarek sat near a few of his friends that were talking about quidditch. Jarek loved the game but he was to focused on eating to really enter the conversation. Expect when they asked for the Seeker’s idea of how practice should be, and then Jarek would give into his option and tell them. When his plate began to empty it was quite loud enough at the Gryffindor table for Jarek. He his brown eyes danced with the gold as he looked around as he decided to eat more or wait for lunch.

Jarek turned to his side to address a friend of his, a close friend and the minute he did he felt something hit him in the back. A few of the Gryffindors were laughing, Jarek was now furious whipping of now the undeterminable breakfast food that was thrown at him. Jarek looked around, a few of his fellow house mates pointed to Slytherin Table which was across the way and they were roaring with laughter.

Jarek swore under his break as his arm now on the table. He saw the breakfast tart, he smirked as he picked it up with his throwing hand and tossed it and closed his eyes and then heard the roar of Gryffindor table with laughter. Jarek now feeling in a better mood from tossing his breakfast tart. But he was used to get messed with by the Slytherins.

After breakfast Jarek had to run up the flights up stairs he had gone down earlier to change his shirt. He noticed when he left the Great Hall, a few Slytherins followed him. But they didn’t follow him for that long. It didn’t help out of habit Jarek would taunt the Slytherins. Saying all sorts of things from ‘Uncultured swine.’ to ‘Prat’. Before Jarek knew it the Slytherins gave up on their hunt of him before he reached his common room. He said the password to change to in a fun, playful tone.

He had walked up the stairs to the boys dormitory and to the third door on left. Where he entered the familiar place of his. His fore post bed with its Red sheets. He quickly took his shirt of throwing it his dirty laundry pile and he went in his trunk to grab another one. Before he was out of the common room he ran into a few friends they walked their way together all way till Hogsmeade and then Jarek went is own way he was meeting some friends at Honeyduke’s.

When he entered Honeyduke’s it was still quiet the rush hadn’t happened. That’s when Jarek walked around there must have been only a handful of people there. He noticed a pretty girl across the store. Jarek kept his distance but his eyes automatically would travel to her.

Hey there Ri. Nice to see you're eager to start rping, but we need to work out your bio a little more.
We need a lot more elaboration on Personality, Powers, and Weaknesses. Currently you only have what would be about a paragraph for our board's standards in each section, and we need at least three to four paragraphs in those sections.

In history, you mention the Shi'ar Empire, but as we're not dealing with that in the game, it's best to edit it out and use a different reason for the plane crash (I'm sure even simple mechanical failure would work fine). Similarly, as we have yet to deal with Mr. Sinister (and as both are significant forces) some alteration for that part would be good. As Jack O'Diamonds is not a significant character, he can be left in, but Scott's joining of the X-Men would be better done by Xavier alone, as the F.B.I. has no relations to the Institute at the present.

Over all, it'd be good to see more of your own version of his history than the Marvel DB one, as we're very much about creating our own timeline here at Mere Mortals and we highly value personal interpretations of characters.

Last brief, less important note; since he wasn't born with his powers, the color of his eyes (at least prior to the manifestation of his powers) would be known.
