Amara was bored her attempts at making friends had failed and the latin teenager was quickly becoming despondant to the surroundings. Not that she would travel home now not much awaited her in her hidden home. Blonde hair was put up in a tight bun and she wanted to let it lose, but circumstanses kept her from doing so. Amara didn't really want to get it all snow filled, in fact she disliked snow very much being that this was her first time around the cold, wet, white stuff. Other students had told her it was fun to get out in Mara though had a dislike it of from minute one. She was from a tropical climate warmth was her norm and cold was a intrustion. Thankfully though she wasn't cold her powers now kept her quite toasty when out so she could still wear clothing that was thiner than most.
When you put a bored teenage latina in a school where most kids hardly could get past her terrible use of english and the accent that was appearant when she spoke. Even at times when she tried to speak in a proper tone of voice and get her meaning out lound and clear it came out wrong. Mara was a normally hyper, cheerful, and a socialble girl but today she felt like being quite morose and out of it. This was all to do with the weather but she dared not tell anyone this, she was of a better stock than them, and that's what she liked to think, and they did not deserve to know this information. But Mara still felt like she needed a friend to speak with, even if she hadn't made many at that moment she'd even take a complete stranger.

It wasn't too unusual for Liliha to be out in such cold weather. The cold didn't bother her. It was the damn snow that bugged her half to death. Even though Liliha could control the forms of water, she disliked snow the most. You'd think that having her powers for so long that she'd have gotten used to the snow. And rain. And water in general. She didn't mind water. In fact, she loved it. She just didn't like being exposed to it in any forms other than baths or showers or even for gardening. It just wasn't her cup of tea.
Liliha hadn't been out long. Only a few hours or so. Surprisingly, she wasn't soaked in the least. No, the snow simply settled on her already white clothing. She wore white everything, as usual. White long sleeved turtleneck, jeans, gloves, trench coat with a hood on it that was up, covering her hair fully. If one were to see her from the back, that one wouldn't even know she was there until she moved and you saw her slightly tanned face.
What had possessed Liliha to come out in the cold, you ask? Why, it was Terry. Terry didn't like water much. Which was why she wanted to come out into the disgusting snow, to melt it with sadistic glee. Unfortunately, Water didn't want Fire to melt the ice. Which was why Liliha was out here for the second hour. Now in her third hour out in the freezing snow, Liliha wanted nothing more than to go back inside and read a good book. But that wasn't the case when she was her roommate, Amara, standing in the snow, alone.
Alone? What had possessed Amara to come out into the snow when she was more comfortable in hotter climates like Liliha? Needless to say, Liliha was curious and began to head over. Once next to the girl, Liliha stood in silence, blending in with the snow perfectly. The only indication that she was there was when she spoke to the girl. "What are you doing out here in this weather, Amara? I thought you'd be inside, next to the heater."

Amara had been deep in thought, so deep she hadn't even heard feet in the snow. Not that it would have mattered much if she had but once she was deep in thought her mind worked on that and left her body standing there looking stupid and off in space. And that is what had happened, her blue eyes where focused off into a point of white far far away from her. While thoughts of home and what she missed danced threw her head. She thought of her father remembering every detail of his face and how much he loved her. A flitting picture of his face as he sent her off into the great unknown with nothing but a small pack to supply her with food was there and it made her sad that after that she never would see him again. That is till she was trained up in her powers and able to go back home to lend a hand to help fight.
Her mind still hadn't registed any noise or movement around her when suddenly she heard a voice close to her. She was startled and nearly jumped out of her tennis shoes when her mind finally flew back into her body. She patted her chest with a hand and focused brilliant blue eyes onto the girl next to her. If she hadn't heard her voice just a moment before she could have sworn that Liliha wasn't there and a figment of her over active imagination. Her heart was still pounding in her chest making blood rush to her ears leaving a slight buzz in them and a sudden rush of heat filled her skin. Mara wasn't cold and she doubted she would be in quite a few hours as heat filled the air as it poured off of her body in droves. "I was bored inside so I came out only to be bored out here as well" she replied quickly to the girl and took a deep breth after that trying to stop her heart from beating a painful tattoo on her chest wall. "And I doubt I will be needing any form of heat for many hours yet since you scared me and I used my powers so much" she said with a grin forming on her bright gold painted lips. It wasn't all the time that she used them like that but heaters where quite useless around the girl with the geothermic based powers..she wasn't called Magma for no reason.

Liliha looked at the girl with an arched brow. The heat that rolled off of her met Liliha's form but she didn't really notice the intense heat until it started to melt the snow that had settled on her icy form. Reaching up, the girl straightened her hat as the sudden heat wave had knocked it askew. Liliha refrained from rolling her eyes. How much control did Amara have over her power anyway?
"I can see that I startled you. A word to the wise. Please try not to overheat. You never know how much heat you can handle and what it can do to you. . ." She spoke carefully, choosing her words to remain vague but also somewhat firm. She knew from experience what happened when someone of fire powers over heated. The proof was in her memories and on her back. Liliha looked away from the girl for a moment and down at a lump of snow that split open at the top just a bit. A small dark green leaf peeked through and she smirked slightly.
While Amara's body radiated intense heat, Liliha's body radiated absolute cold that turned the snow she walked on into solid ice. It wasn't something she could control. Her body naturally changed it's temperature to adapt to her surrounding climate. If it was hot, her body would match the temperature or even go over it. If it was cold, as it is right now, her body temperature would drop to match it, once it had even gone down to subzero.

Amara hadn't meant to shoot off her powers at that moment but her emotions where closely tied to them and getting a fright like that just rushed them to the surface. It wasn't as if she hadn't tried to keep them under a tight reign but, she was still learning her powers and so it was all an experiment to her. Mara nervously tucked a stray strand of blonde hair behind her ear and grinned sheepishy at Liliha. "I will try next time to be more careful..last thing I need is to burst into my other form" she stated still quite sheepish and embaressed at the fact that she had once again made a fool of herself by going and getting startled like that. Even though she had been there for a long enough time she still felt out of place with the other mutants in the school and though Liliha was her roomate she still wasn't so sure the girl liked her much.
"My emotions control a good bit of my powers and training is taking longer than I thought" she admited nearly ashamed that she was expecting training to take effect so quickly and not being patient with it. Her sword training as a girl had taken many years and quite a few mishaps to even get the proper things she needed to have a real sword in her hand and not harm others and herself. And that's what confused her to no end how she could be so patient when learning back at home but so not when here in the America's, it must have been her habitat. The cold when she had faced very little before and the fact that she was treated just like everyone else when she had been close to royalty before. That still confused her and at times she fell back into the royal attitude to only be snapped back into reality by harsh words or a meanly stated truth. The people at this school said it like it was and she still had to get used to that, but Mara was sure when she got done here she would be the best daughter her father would want.
