[The Morlocks of Mere Mortals: Important Notes]
The Morlocks are significantly different at Mere Mortals from comics-verse canon, extremely so specifically with regards to history and timeline.

Their history and the cast list is provided below. Information given in the cast outlines, such as the ages, must be respected with an application as the timeline has been laid out (some of the ages have been altered/defined for the purposes of this rpg in comparison to the existing cast, within and outside of the Morlocks), but the play-bys are only recommendations and may be changed.

For Morlocks we are actively encouraging canon applications, and at this moment these are the only canon Morlock characters that we will be taking. All OC Morlocks will have to be rped to join the Morlocks in the present time with few exceptions.

If there is a bio linked to the character, the character is taken unless otherwise noted.

----------

[The Morlocks]
The Morlocks were founded as a small group of outcast mutants that sought acceptance in each other. The founding members, Scaleface, Cybelle, Blowhard, and Healer, are, despite the fact that they hold no particular leadership positions, still held in high regards, along with Annalee, who also joined in the founding year. The original six from the founding year, Scaleface, Cybelle, Blowhard, Healer, Annalee and Berzerker tend to be especially close in general.

Berzerker has been the brash but protective leader of the mutant group until recently, when he left the underground to pursue a temporary arrangement with the Xavier Institute and its leader, Charles Xavier, in the month of November.
In his absence without his knowing came a new leader as Callisto, a more recent but also respected figure amongst the Morlocks, took the reins of leadership. Not all of the Morlocks are happy with this arrangement, but most have at least settled for her in a temporary light, and some have now strongly allied for her leadership as opposed to Berzerker's.

While no strong arguments over Callisto's leadership have been made, there exists a clear division within the underground society, split between those that remain loyal to Berzerker and those that have allied behind Callisto. Though even Berzerker's factor has been seen to hold a few doubts regarding Berzerker's absence, the division remains strongly tied with regards to influence due to the fact that Berzerker's factor consists of the founding members of the Morlocks, while Callisto's factor consists of the newer, more recent members.

There has been no direct conflict yet, but there is tension and when Berzerker returns, there's going to be trouble.

Berzerker
20. Male. Leader of the Morlocks, presently a provisional X-Man and recently overthrown (unknown to him) by Callisto.
Bio available here.
Notes: Though not a founding member, like Annalee Berzerker joined the Morlocks in the founding year, at age 15, after being found and invited by Scaleface, Cybelle and Blowhard. Since then he rose to lead the small group and is the one responsible for bringing many abandoned electronics down underground to fix and 'charge' for use, and is one of the few that can freely roam the topside. While respected by the Morlocks, a few dislike his ventures topside and the fact that he can so freely roam about due to his normal appearance, not to mention his recent temporary leave of the Morlocks. Unknown to Berzerker, during his absence Callisto has taken charge over the Morlocks.

Scaleface
21. Female. Founding member.
Powers: Transformation into a large dragon-like reptilian form with a fanged mouth, clawed hands and feet, and a ridge of spines along her back.
Notes: Scaleface is one of the founding members of the Morlocks, and particularly close to Berzerker and Cybelle. A definite muscle for the Morlocks, she was the former unofficial leader of the Morlocks along with Healer prior to Berzerker’s joining, and has a strong protective nature. Though she is not as hot-headed as Berzerker, her fights with Berzerker, both verbal and physical, are infamous within the Morlocks for being the most destructive because they don't feel the need to hold back as much when fighting each other. Despite this, Scaleface has a soft spot for Berzerker, as perceptive Morlocks would note in her lack of real dispute over Berzerker's topside ventures, as Scaleface is decidedly against the topside world and fiercely distrusting of all topsiders and generally refuses to go topside unless extreme need calls for it, even in her human form. It was Scaleface who invited Healer to join the founding Morlocks upon meeting him by chance a few days after she, Cybelle and Blowhard had decided to live together in the sewers.

Cybelle
20. Female. Founding member.
Powers: Pore secretion of a fast-acting acidic sweat.
Notes: Cybelle is one of the founding members of the Morlocks, and is particularly close to them. She serves as something of a voice of reason along with Healer, especially in the earlier years with the smaller group of the founding members, though it is known that she has a temper when provoked. She is known to be possibly the only one that can interrupt a fight between Scaleface and Berzerker and get away without even the faintest of issues, and is known for a quieter form of charisma in tense situations, though she has no ambitions for leadership roles. She prefers not to use her powers for specific reasons in her past, but the details of this is only known to Blowhard, whom she met and lived with in the streets two years before the formation of the Morlocks. It was Cybelle who suggested the formation of the Morlocks, after meeting Scaleface in one of the tunnels one day with Blowhard, and stopping the two from fighting.

Blowhard
19. Male. Founding member.
Powers: Draws on nearby oxygen and focus it through his pipe in order to create high-velocity gale-force winds.
Notes: Blowhard is one of the founding members of the Morlocks, and though he has the respect of the Morlocks in general for his founding status, amongst the founding members, he is viewed in a slightly 'kid' light. Despite this however, he is also accepted to be resourceful when situation calls for it, and 'emotionally capable', easily the most sociable of the founding members, and one of the more easily understanding. He is known to be an abandoned orphan and met and lived with Cybelle in the streets two years before the formation of the Morlocks. He used to have a strong rivalry against Scaleface in the first year of the Morlocks, jealous and anxious due to her growing friendship with Cybelle, but grew out of it during the second year. He is close to the other founding members, and shares a brotherly bond with Healer. He was the one to invite Annalee into the Morlocks, having known her several months prior to the formation of the Morlocks from the streets, and is close to her, and particularly protective of Torpid.

Callisto
24. Female.
Adoptable.
Notes: Callisto joined the Morlocks through Sunder, who had also recently joined after being found by Berzerker.
After the departure of Berzerker Callisto has stepped up to lead the Morlocks. Unlike Berzerker, who had always refused to turn the Morlocks into a bigger society, maintaining it as a small group, Callisto plans on turning the small group into a community, so more mutants can find sanctuary in the underground.

Marrow
17. Female.
Powers:
-Hyper-Accelerated Metabolism: her metabolism is the basis of what fuels her abilities to the way that they have manifested.
-Accelerated Bone Growth: ability to control the growth of her bone structure. She has some control over this, but it is lacking. Sarah's body generates bony protrusions which she can pull and wield as weapons, and also act as a form of protection by covering her. Most notably these bones protrude from her shoulders and back, as well as the knees, and are never fully gone even when they are pulled out, growing back out almost immediately. She utilizes this power in many ways, including the creation of knuckle guards, spears, and projectile spikes.
-Bone Structure Durability: Her Skeletal bones seems to be also more durable than normal, she had easily survived heavy hits on several body parts.
-Healing Factor: allows her to heal from the wounds she gives herself while removing the bones from her body. Her healing factor also grows her bones quickly and regenerates her bones when they need to be replaced.
-Dual Hearts: She also possessed two hearts to compensate for her random bone growth, so when Storm ripped one out she was able to survive. It's possible that the first heart could have re-grown due to the healing factor.
Notes: Marrow joined the Morlocks at age 15, after her powers first manifested. Marrow is highly loyal to Callisto, hating the topside, and though Berzerker was the one that brought her to the Morlocks, she harbors a personal dislike for him due to his topside ventures and his ability to freely roam the topside.

Sunder
22. Male.
Powers: Enhanced physical body mass gives him superhuman strength, stamina, and resistance to physical injury.*
Notes: Sunder is particularly close to Callisto, also responsible for bringing her to the underground, and it may be simply a stronger friendship with Callisto rather than any ill will towards Berzerker that he sides with Callisto. Sunder was invited into the Morlocks by Berzerker. *After the induction of Masque in the Morlocks, Sunder was the first to seek the other mutant out to see if it was possible for Masque to change his physical appearance. It was successful and Sunder decided to choose a new look for himself, specifically requesting an attractive look. With this physical change, his powers seem to have decreased in potential; though his superhuman strength and stamina remain still to almost the same levels as before, he no longer has resistance to physical injury. He has stated, however, that he prefers to look normal than to retain the full strength of his powers, and has not changed back to his natural appearance.

Caliban
23. Male.
Powers:
-X-Factor Detection: able to psionically sense the presence of other mutants within a 25 mile radius of himself.
-Fear Absorption: Able to absorb the psionic energy in the fear from others and convert it into physical strength.
-Fear Amplification: Able to also use absorbed fear-energy to turn it against those around him, inducing more intense fear within their minds. This is an under-developed power.
Notes: Caliban recently joined the Morlocks in late December as one of the first members of the newly growing community of the underground Morlocks. He has yet to meet Berzerker. He was the last Morlock to accept Masque's offer of changing his appearance, and now has a normal appearance. Naturally he is extremely gaunt and his skin is as white as paper; with no hair and eyes with yellow sclera, no apparent irises, and black pupils.

Healer
24. Male. Founding Member.
Bio available here.
Powers: The Healer is a mutant possessed of the superhuman ability to tap into the specific gene that causes superhuman mutations, directing the mutagenic energy those cells produce into rapidly healing their owner's body from wounds or diseases. Healing particularly severe damage to another's body caused the Healer great physical strain. His ability could not affect normal humans, only active mutants.
Notes: Healer is one of the founding members of the Morlocks. He was the unofficial leader along with Scaleface before Berzerker's joining, and serves as the voice of reason along with Cybelle. He is non-confrontational and often plays mediator for minor arguments within the Morlocks. He is particularly close to Cybelle, although Tommy often seeks his company, especially after her recent appearance change and the topside trips that followed. The only person that has ever really managed to get Healer angry is Blowhard, who, at 15 (Healer then 20), nearly caused a cave-in in the tunnels by misuse of his powers. Since then, however, Blowhard and Healer have shared a strong brotherly bond.

Masque
24. Male.
Powers: Masque possesses the ability to change the physical appearance of any other person by touch, but cannot use it to alter his own hideous appearance.
Notes: Masque just recently joined the Morlocks in December. He has yet to meet Berzerker. He is undecided about his alliance in the division, but has been gaining trust and favor quickly by using his powers to alter the appearance of Morlocks, enabling them to venture topside more frequently for food and the likes. The Morlocks whose appearances he changed are, in sequential order, Sunder, Annalee, Tommy, and Caliban. Cybelle and Marrow in particular share a strong distrust of him, deeming him to have other motives than pure good will in mind.

Nadia Ingram/Moonbeam (Dead Girl)
17. Female.
Bio available here.
Notes: Nadia Ingram is not a mutant, but human. She found out about the Morlocks earlier after seeing Blowhard topside.

Tommy
16. Female.
Powers: Ability to render herself into a two-dimensional state in which her body is as flat as paper.
Notes: Tommy joined the Morlocks at age 13, when her powers first manifested, being found by Healer. Always having yearned for acceptance and more friends, Tommy was the most eager Morlock in accepting Masque's help of changing her appearance, though only after seeing it work on Sunder and Annalee. Her natural appearance is very noticeably mutant, being rainbow-colored. Since her appearance change, she has tentatively ventured topside every so often but remains timid about it in general, and never goes up alone, usually requesting the company of Healer. She retains her natural rainbow colored appearance, however, when turning into her two-dimensional state, though the reasons for this are unknown.

Annalee
33. Female.
Powers: Annalee is an Empath, able to read and alter the emotional states of others to match her own personal desires.
Notes: Annalee has become a surrogate mother figure for Torpid. Though not a founding member, like Berzerker Annalee joined the Morlocks in the founding year, after being invited by Blowhard. She and Blowhard are close, and knew each other several months before the formation of the Morlocks on the streets. Though she has seniority over all Morlocks, she tends to prefer neutrality in all cases and only gets actively involved in arguments in the case that Torpid is involved. Annalee was one of the mutants that took Masque's offer and changed her physical appearance, though she had been more or less normal to begin with. She does not, however, choose to go topside.

Torpid
9. Female.
Powers:
-Paralyzing touch: Torpid can paralyze anyone by means of touching using her huge hands. As of the moment Torpid does not have conscious control over her powers and wears gloves to keep her power from activating accidentally. Her power, however, may penetrate one layer of thin clothing, such as a shirt or jeans.
-Physical mutation: Unnaturally large hands
Notes: Torpid is somewhat eerily cute. She does not speak but only communicates by means of facial expressions, indicating she may be mute, though she may be choosing her silence. She was one of the earliest members, found in the streets by Cybelle at age 6. It is uncertain how young her powers manifested, though she had even her non-physical powers at age 6, so it may well be that she had at least small manifestations of her powers from birth. It is unknown if the manifestation of her powers caused any trauma, but she suffers from no fear or rejection of her powers, though her silence may have another story behind it. She is the unchallenged youngest member of the Morlocks and perhaps the most well protected due to her youth. Annalee serves as a maternal figure for her and she views Blowhard, who is particularly protective of her, in an older brother light. Torpid distinctly refused Masque's powers though she has obvious physical mutations (her hands).
