Title: S Donte Whitner

Here is a prospect that is rated between 15-32 on almost all the value boards, but not much is being said about him. What do you guys think of his NFL potential?

I've been thinking the same thing. I'm hoping he drops to the 3rd and the Texans take a look at him if they haven't taken Simpson or Bing at #33.

By all accounts he (Whitner) will never even drop out of the 1st round. Bing will be lucky to be a 3rd rounder, he is a borderline safety in a linebackers body with mediocre speed. If anyone drops I think it will be Ko Simpson, who could drop out of the 1st round into the mid second.

I love Whitner and have been pimping him for 3 years now. It always puzzled me that he wasn't getting hyped very much. He reminds me of Ed Reed athletically in that he could very easily play corner back and he has great ball skills.

I think the one reason he isn't talked about much is I don't think anyone really expected him to come out early. It is kind of crazy, but he was overshadowed by Nate Salley this year.

Ahh Salley may have been a bigger name, but Whitner's been the better player for a while. I never understood the Nate Salley hype.

Yep I meant he was over shadowed by name, but not by talent.

I like him late 1st early 2nd.
