Does anyone else on this board think that this kid has a chance to be special at the next level. Granted I watch all his games, however this guy has been extremely productive against top competition, behind what is a relatively young offensive line. Check this out

Against SEC competition in 2005

South Carolina 145 yds for an average of 7.3 per carry
Arkansas 98 yards for an average of 5.4 per carry
Florida 101 yards for an average of 6.7 per carry
Mississippi 100 yards for an average of 5.0 per carry
Tennessee 86 yards for an average of 3.7 per carry
Mississippi State 128 yards for an average of 5.8 per carry
LSU 104 yards for an average of 5.0 per carry
Auburn 89 yards for an average of 4.9 per carry

When you see Darby run the first thing you notice is his ability to make defenders miss, He is tough and durable and has shown he can be extremely explosive. Look for him to break Shaun Alexander's all time rushing record this year and vie for SEC player of the year.

I agree 100%, in fact I have him rated much higher than most everybody else. He just impressed the heck out of me last year. He fought so hard for the yards that he gained and he ran mostly against 8 in the box and just average blocking. You put him behind USC's line last year and he might have won the Heisman. He is very strong, keeps his legs churning, breaks a lot of tackles, is shifty and elusive. I think by the end of next year he will really rise up the draft boards.

By this time next year he could be the #2 HB behind only Adrian Peterson.

He will still probably be behind Michael Bush from Louisville. Bush is a 6-2 250 pound agile battering ram. The only other guys that will be up in the elite staus in my opinion are Marshawn Lynch and Kenny Irons. here are my early top 5:

1. Adrian Peterson
2. Michael Bush
3. Kenneth Darby
4. Marshawn Lynch
5. Kenny Irons

Alley Broussard (if heathly), Lynell Hamilton and Darius Walker deserve mention as well.

Don't sleep on Chris Henry, Gary Russell or Chauncey Washington (if the grade gods let it be) either.
