Title: ESPN: Special Invitation - NFL Draft Show
ESPNQF - April 25, 2006 05:21 PM (GMT)
My name is Jackea Chan and I am an Assistant Associate Audience Producer for ESPN2’s sports talk show Quite Frankly with Stephen A. Smith.
The reason I am contacting you is that we have just been notified that on Friday, April 28 at 5:30pm, Quite Frankly will devote the whole show to the upcoming NFL Draft. Previews and analysis of hopeful draftees, as well as team needs will be discussed. Which prospects are shooting up the draft board and who is falling the eve before the draft? In addition we will be doing a Draft Wrap-up show on Monday, May 1 at 6:30pm. Who were the biggest winners and losers of the 2 day event?
We would like to extend to you and your website FREE tickets to attend the show. We realize that this would be a great opportunity for some of your forum members to get together and meet up for an exciting sports show. The tickets are open to your all interested members, family members, friends, and co-workers.
Our studio is located in the heart of New York City, across the street from Madison Square Garden. Again the show date is Friday, April 28 at 5:30 pm with a 4:00 pm check-in and Monday, May 1 at 6:30pm.
If you or any of your members are interested in attending the show, please call Jackea at 646-708-7149 or email Jackea.X.Chan.-nd@espn.com. Please provide your first and last name, telephone number with area code and email address.
In addition, please feel free to post this information on your website for all NFL fans located in the New York or tri-state area.
Thank you.

Thanks for the invite, I wish I could go but it is kind of short notice. I will have to watch it from home on my 42 inch plasma High defintion TV. If anyone is able to go wave to us from the audience.

Here is the e-mail I got from him when I questioned its validity:
Robert-
I can assure you that this is not a "hoax" about the ESPN show in New York City. I left both my email address and my telephone number in the invitation. As you have already contacted me by email (if it weren't real, how could I respond back to you), please feel free to contact me by phone as well. Either I will pick up to re-assure you or you will be directed to my mail box that does include my name and title as well.
If you are interested or have anymore questions, please contact me back.

It's actually no big deal, The Steven A. Smith advertises free tickets after it's show every day anyway. They must be having trouble filling their seats. If they really wanted us there they would have announced this about a month ago and given us travel and lodging funds.

Not really, they have been advertising free tickets every night after his show, they must be getting desperate to keep the studio filled. If they want a select group of draftnicks to attend then they would have to make it worth our while, or at least give us more than a weeks notice.
