Cornbread, Why on earth do you have the 49ers taking two TE's in the 1st round??

Cornbread - April 27, 2006 09:49 PM (GMT)
Well this competition is not team specific, I expect the niners will trade away at least one of those slots, Plus, I just threw my initial mock up there real fast, I am going to go and tweak it late Friday or early Saturday morning. Why would I give away all my secrets this early? :P

Cornbread - April 28, 2006 11:36 AM (GMT)
The 1st three picks are the key. I am having the most trouble with the New Orleans pick. I think the people that get that correct are in the drivers seat. The other pick I am having trouble with is the Giants, now that they signed Arrington linebacker isn't a priority, they need a DT but there isn't any first round calibers guys at that spot.

sithoverlord - April 28, 2006 11:24 PM (GMT)
i think the giants will go with a WR, and I really feel that Mario Williams is a luxury the Saints can ill afford, they have absolutely no need at DE and an imediate need at LT or RT depending on if Jamal Brown is moved to the left side or not. In my opinion if they want to keep Brees alive they need Ferguson.

Cornbread - April 29, 2006 12:25 AM (GMT)
Well the Texans have signed Mario Williams so that shakes up the top of the draft. Bush should go second now. The Giants would like a wideout but there won't be a top one one available when they pick, so what do they do?

sithoverlord - April 29, 2006 05:45 AM (GMT)
If Jackson and Holmes are gone and Im not sure they both will be, highly possible but there is a chance one will slide; more likely Holmes than Jackson. Sinorice Moss is a good option for them here or they could even draft a Tye Hill or Johnathan Joseph or even pick up a quality offensive lineman like Nick Mangold or Marcus McNeill or even Davin Joseph who I see as a great pick for the Colts with the 30th btw. I see them out of the Linebacker bussiness.

Who knows they could even nab one of the HBs here, Barber isnt getting younger and Brandon Jacobs seems to be a great short yardage back but Im not sure about his starting potential.

They could reach some and fill a need at DT with Watson, or roll the dice on Wroten who is a top 15 talent just has his off the field issues.

Cornbread - April 29, 2006 11:45 AM (GMT)
They don't need a center and McNeil and Joseph aren't 1st round worthy players and there probably won't be any worthy runners left either.

Cornbread - April 29, 2006 03:04 PM (GMT)
Well guys I waited until 9:00 AM Eastern to close the post hoping the rest of you guys would update your mocks, those that left Bush on top might have made a huge mistake, you just thre away 2 points.

Just further proof on why I am the next Mel Kiper. :P

Do I get anything for winning? ;)

Little_Henry - April 30, 2006 09:44 PM (GMT)

Little Henry was correct on the first 6 picks in the draft.

Cornbread - April 30, 2006 10:52 PM (GMT)
Whoops you are correct Little Henry, I adjusted your score, you tied for second with me and Lynch47.

Unfortunately mtsucalico85, nothing but the satisfaction of knowing you were the 2006 NFL Draftblitz Mock Draft Champion this year. I threw it together kind of on short notice, next year I plan on expanding it and awarding some kind of prize and also adjusting the scoring system somehow to limit the number of ties.

I think over-all everybody did very well, after the first 6 I thought little Henry was going to walk away with this thing.
