Title: Worst Overall Value
Description: worst pick?

What player was the worst pick where he was drafted?

I wanted to pick QB Tarvarius Jackson, but with quarterbacks it's anybodies guess, I had Jackson rated as an undrafted free agent and he was the 64th over all pick! Either I am a genius or an idiot......... only time will tell :D
But Frostee Rucker had to be the worst, subtract defensive tackles and offensive lineman and he was probably the slowest player in this draft, and he doesn't even have good size or good production on the field. Maybe he had a cool name?

Well since we all place a lot more value on a first round pick then a second, I have to say that McCargo was the worst value. Jackson shocked me going in the second round, but missing on a second doesn't hurt as bad as missing on a first.

Yea but while McCargo might not have been a good value at that spot he is still a talent and will be in the league as a starter or a backup for many years to come. He is very strong and quick, really dispruptive on the inside. He reminds me of former Dallas DT Russell Maryland.
QB Tarvarius Jackson on the other hand might not even be good enough to play in the NFL. We will have to wait about three years before we will know, but it makes for good debate.

I took McCargo (though Cook was tempting), but this is more to defend Jackson.
Now I have not seen a ton of film on Jackson, but the little I have really excites me. He has a fantastic arm, with speed to go along with it. And, unlike Culpepper, he is smart when he scrambles. HE ACTUALLY SLIDES! Yes, he is a project, but I like him much more than Croyle and Whitehurst, and personally better than Clemens. Plus, what I have seen as negatives with him, all those things are correctable. What you can't teach (arm strength, intangibles), he has.
In the Twin Cities, while people may be questioning the pick of Jackson because the VIkes had to move up, they can somewhat understand it. Not one person has liked the pick of Cook.

I admit, I must have really missed something on Jackson, maybe I just didn't get to see him enough, because Kiper had him rated pretty high also. So he might end up making the Vikings look like geniuses. But I am still going to stick to my guns, I just think he was drafted way, way to soon.

Jackson's agent said that two teams (not sure which two, but my guess is Oakland and San Diego) were going to take him in the third round, and were really mad that he was gone. Jackson had been flying up the draft boards. People from Ron Jaworski to Chris Mortensen to Phil Simms I have seen all like the pick. The Vikings had to trade up to 64 to get their guy.
In hindsight, I wish we would have taken Jackson at 51 and taken Cook in the 3rd round if we had to. That way, we would have saved one of our picks.

Mccargo for me, they could have had him in the 2nd ronund.
Jackson is a good pick IMO, he can make all the throw just needs to learn more, improve accuaracy, huh reminds me of the qb they drafted in 1999.

I voted jackson
from the times i've seen him (2...3 if you count the all-star game) he's never really wowed me, which isn't good for a guy from 1-AA

Click on this highlight reel for Tarvaris Jackson and you'll see a huge arm (probably the strongest in the draft), and a ton of upside.
http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/draft?round=2&dl=nflWhether he'll be able to improve his accuracy and adjust to the level of competition is another question. But I can certainly see him going this high base on talent.
