I like the Maroney pick, and I would be okay with the Havner pick (he plays for UCLA, not Wisconsin), but if Bing was around for the pick there, the Vikings should take him over Havner.

Best mock I've seen for the Chargers so far.

SamRoberts - February 27, 2006 06:24 AM (GMT)
Just a few things....

The only OLB Oakland would take is AJ Hawk, Al Davis doesn't like drafting LB's in the first round, so dont expect Greenway to be the pick

Too high for Carpenter. I know he has a first round grade, but it's a late first round grade. They are targeting Greenway, and if he goes before that they will take defensive BPA.

Phili won't take Holmes, they are looking for defense with their first pick.

Greg Lee and Martin Nance will go in the second/third rounds. There are better WR's available, such as D.Williams, Stovall, ect.

Hali and Kiwi should go in the first

Omar Jacobs won't go that high, Croyle and Whitehurt will go before him.

Expect Gilles and Lawson to be taken higher, I know they're hard to place, but both should be late first rounders when it's all said and done.

Calhoun hurt himself in the combine, and probably got himself a third round grade now.

Donte Whitner will go early-mid second, many teams like him more than Bing.

Cleveland will take Kamerion Wimbley if available in round 2, I'm about 85% sure on that one.

Just some constructive criticism, keep working on it, that was a solid mock.

Very good point on Oakland.
I really like Carpenter and have a feeling he'll rise a lot. It might be a stretch but with the hometown OSU team I felt it was a great fit.
Philly was tough, I think Holmes is a possibility but Im not sure. He seemed to fit in well but I am hearing that they could go D.

Hali and Kiwi will probably go in the first but I didnt find a place to put them in there, therefore they become 2nd round steals.

I think Omar will go #4, just my opinion(PS IMO Croyle is super overrated).

Good thinking on Calhoun, I still believe hes a great back though, could go second.

Whitner is rising and could go before Bing but right now I just dont see it.

Thanks for the comments! Thats the best constructive criticism Ive seen here!

For the Bears:
-Pope is the pick in the first. I'm starting to worry he won't be there, but if he is, they take him with no hesitation.
-CB is definitely the pick here. Probably Marshall or Jennings given how your mock shakes out, and I can't argue with Marshall.
-The Bears will take a WR early or late, not in the middle. They like Bradley and Berrian and have Airese Currie who was hurt all year and are looking for a FA to step in and help. If Latui is still on the board (as he is here), he'd be a great fit, as the Bears O-line is getting a little thin.

What makes you sure Whitehurt and Croyle will go before Jacobs Sam Roberts

Because everyone I've talked to has them higher.

Personally, I like Jacobs more than the two, I think the only reason he isn't the #3/4 QB is because of the injury he suffered.

Steelstud - February 28, 2006 01:04 AM (GMT)
32)Pittsburgh- Greg Lee, WR Pitssburgh

Let me say this about that - Are you out of your freaking mind? They Steelers don't need another WR, they need a CB, you moron!

They do need a receiver. Randle El will probably leave.
I really like Lee, I like the hometown thing, and I expect a rise from him.
Sorry If Ioffended you...

its a dream come true draft for the bengals, only person i strongly disagree with is the placement of mangold in the third round, his stock is rising like no other, hes a late first to early second round prospect

FinManInKY - February 28, 2006 05:11 AM (GMT)
I really like the Dolphins 1st pick of Cromartie. Can't wait to see what he does tomorrow at the combines. I believe after today, Vernon Davis has solidified a top 15 selection

I agree now actually. I might even say Top 10 lock, he's a beast and his stock is soaring. My next mock he'll be higher for sure.

Same with Mangold he's rising a lot. Remember I did this over a week ago so its a bit dated.
