No longer called the "U" until they decided to not suck.

Everyone knows the "U" stands for underachievers. :P

Thats exactly whats going on at Miami right now. Hopefully with the new coaching staff, we will see a better team (mostly on offense becasue the defense was great last year)

I think Miami fans have been spoiled to the point that anything less than a perfect season is unacceptable. That's certainly good in a way, but to expect greatness annually is just not realistic. I would agree that, in a series, Miami would probably beat out perhaps every other ACC team, with a couple possible exceptions. But when you're playing in the calibur conference they do, you're going to have to play very good ball week in and week out. No team goes through a season without struggling at some stage. You have to give credit at some point to the Georgia Techs of the world. While they may be inconsistent, they and other ACC teams on any given week can beat anyone.

Losses to GT, Clemson, and UNC are unacceptable when you are trying to win the ACC and trying to play for a national championship. While we expect perfection, we can (in a way) accept loses to the FSUs and VTs because they actually have talent comparable to Miami. But when you come out flat and uninspired against lesser teams and lose, thats when it becomes a problem.
