DoctorDoom - March 10, 2006 08:28 PM (GMT)
Re-sign Quincy Morgan WR
Re-sign Brett Keisel DE
Re-Sign Charlie Batch QB

Sign Najeh Davenport RB

Draft Compensatory picks of 3rd for Kendrell Bell and 6th for Plaxico Burress.

Round One- Nick Mangold OC Ohio St.
Hartings is near retirement and Mangold would be the perfect replacement.

Round Two- Maurice Stovall WR Notre Dame
Gives a good sized target for Big Ben.

Round Three(1)- Alan Zematis DB Penn St.
Could play CB or FS. Has fluid hips and a good burst to the ball.

Round Three(2)- Jeremy Trueblood OT Boston College

Round Four- Mark Anderson OLB Alabama
Small DE with the hips to play OLB in the 34.

Round Five- Dwayne Slay S Texas Tech
Hard hitting safety.

Round six(1)- Julius Jenkins DE Stanford
A perfect 34 DE.

Round six(2)- Manese Hopoi DE Washington
Not a great athlete but gets the job done!

Round seven- Chris Kuper OG North Dakota St.
A project OG for the future.

With all the FA QB's floating around this year, why in the world would you want to resign Charlie Batch? Doctor Doom sure looks like the Steelstud reincarnate to me....

Good call in the 1st round, the Steelers are known for drafting for the future and not by immediate need. A little too high for Stovall. Receivers who run in the 4.6 range rarely get taken in the 2nd round.

There is no way that Mark Anderson lasts that long, heck he might even be a late first rounder. He had a dominate Senior Bowl and combine.

Charlie Batch knows the system and is cheap. We'll either draft a guy late or ad another veteran QB in free agency but for about a million a season we can keep Batch and not have to worry about our back-up QB's understanding of the offense.

Plaxico Burress ran in the upper 4.5's very similar to Stovalls 4.58. He would be a nice size target and I feel his deep speed is better than his short area speed. He's a long strider and it takes him a few steps to get up to top end speed. We would have Wilson and Morgan for quick feet.

The problem with Anderson is he's a 3-4 OLB. Not quick enough to be an OLB in the 4-3 and not a good enough pass rusher to be a pass rush specialist. And I've seen him going second day on all mocks that I've seen.

The comment of him going first round is way over the top, but I think he could sneak into first day to someone like Dallas in the 3rd.

I think Marc Anderson is a 2nd round pick. Dont think hell make it past pick 11 to St. Louis in the 2nd round. The rest seems pretty good albeit hopefull.

Yeah, he very well could be a first day pick. But I really just used a seven round mock draft as my templet and Anderson went in the 4th round. If he did go ahead of our 4th round pick but the rest was right I'd Chris Gocong from Cal Poly.

And sithoverlord I'll admit right now most the draft is hopeful. But in a mock draft I'm not about to reach on a player when I'm picking for fantasy. :P

Hartings is not retiring, so this is just a wasted pick. The pick will be a WR since Randle El left, just like I predicted.

Little_Henry - March 17, 2006 01:56 PM (GMT)
Just like you predicted, huh? I seem to recall you were insulting people mere weeks ago, insisting that Randle El would return to the Steelers. Back to the shabby couch, you Frito eating freak! And clean that Cheez Whiz out of your hair, fer chist sakes!

Yes, he is. The contract "extension" is only to save cap room this year because he'll retire or be released next year. Could the Steelers take Sinorice Moss? Of course. But they usually go with safe first round picks.
