Nicki Wins For Best Supporting Actress!


Congrats to Nicki for winning what I consider to be the most prestigious award she was eligible to win.

While I thought Nicki could win up to 8 or so categories, I thought she WAS a lock for three or four. Such was not the case. But it was also a night with many surprises. How could Bamber fans loose a nomination involving the infamous towel scene?

The fact that Cally didn't win for best use of the word Frak is inexcusable. But such is life.

She won the award that says the most about how her character has grown and developed in the second season and that bodes well for Nicki and Cally fans everywhere!

Ok, after a long day at work, and a four hour awards show, I finally got 5 hours of sleep. Refreshed enough to thank everyone involved with the GTA's this year.



Now for my speech which I wrote well in advance, well ok, 5 minutes ago.

As someone who was pretty much just an observer, and not wanting to forget anyone, I would just like to say I had a BLAST!

I thank www.HangarDeck5.com for hosting the awards, the GTA committee, our fearless leaders, those who ran the show, did the work behind the scenes, and the presenters from all over the globe! And of course Mr. and Mrs. Ron for showing so much support for our fan activities!

I should of recalled last year's Golden Toaster Awards which just like any awards show ran a bit late. That was fortunate for me as I stumbled in just in time to Nicki win for Best Supporting Actress Award. Needless to say I was thrilled that one of my votes actually got it right!

Solium, have you heard anything about the GTA team sending the GTA's to the winners like last year?

Hi Vor! I thought I saw you sneak in during the awards presentation. ;)

I am thrilled Cally won too and just like you not many of my choices did win.
But I will take quality over quantity anytime!

Regarding the print version of the awards. I have all the art and I will act as the type setter and create the winning versions. Havent decided yet if I will just tweak last years design or do something new...

As far as who will print them, or mail them out, that has not yet been discussed. But its just a matter of seeing who choices to take over those chores. It was done last year so I know it will be done this year.

There is no date set for sending out the awards. More than likely a few months from now. (The GTA team need a break!)

Oh, I did not know that the awards were actually sent out to the winners last year. That adds whole new levels of significance to the awards. Have the fans of any other show done this before?

Yippee for Nicki's award. I think "motherfraker" and "shut the frak up" kinda canceled each other out. :unsure:

Knaves : Yes, the awards were printed out and sent to Vancouver. They were handed out to the cast and crew and it was confirmed they received the awards.
