Title: Starbusrt #348
V - August 5, 2006 02:06 AM (GMT)
Nicki had a 4 page spread in Starburst magazine issue #348; anyone have a scanner? It was great, she talked about Season 2 stuff, and ended with her noting that "Cally has a strong following online"! (Said something about Cally winning a UK poll for best female Scifi tv character or something?)

Mero,
I must confess I haven't heard of this magazine. Is this coming from the UK? Any of our European Fans aware of this publication?

Oh I bought it just at a local CVS. Starburst is a Scifi news magazine that has been running for 30 years. Most bookstores would have it.

I have a scanner and I believe Barns and Noble carries Starburst. I gotta go and pick up the lastest issue of BSG Magazine anyways.

Latest issue of BSG magazine, for it's end of the magazine "crew member report", has one on Cally, but it's pretty bad. First, they reported her name as "Jane Cally"; now obviously we only just found out about her full name so they couldn't have known that but.....shouldn't they have waited until they had more info on her in Season 3, and just done someone else this issue?
And it's REALLY choppy writing; some of these "Crew member reports" are okay, but this looked like they were just slapping some sentences together.

I picked up BSG Magazine but unfortunately they didn't have Starburst on the shelf's.
Mero, you forgot to say, under their Cally bio it said, Jane Cally with "Supposed" in parentheses!
Even they didn't believe it! :rofl2:

Curious how Starburst Magazine compares in content with BSG Magazine. my local store is a Borders and..although it has BSG Mag...I havent seen Starburst.
In a small...defense and credit to BSG magazine...Those "briefs" they do in BSG Magazine are called Cylon Intelligence Briefings...or something of the sort. Hence they have a creative way of printing a mistake or out to date information...and blame it on the Cylon Intel Agency! (CIA) instead of the magazine itself. Clever sneaks. Anyways....I am sure they'll get the ball running on getting that "Jane" line fixed.
I'll try to order one of those Starburst mags at my Borders...the least they could call me is an nerd. Or say No.

The actress is surprised by Cally’s increasing popularity—she wasn’t aware that a recent UK poll ranked the space-age mechanic as viewers’ favorite female character—but she has heard that many Internet fan sites reflect a strong following for Cally.
“It’s amazing, and I’m very grateful that people pay attention to the details in the show and appreciate the smaller characters,” Nicki Clyne modestly concludes. “I’m just thankful for the opportunity. I love the character, I love the show and it’s a great feeling to know what you’re putting in has paid off.” |
What was this UK poll? Where was it taken? Why do we not have the United Kingdom as infiltrated as we seem to have the US and Germany? :ph43r:

I am most curious myself on that one Knaves! Could it of been from a publication..or a SkyOne poll...Darn....I'd really like to find more about this poll.

I am confused, are we talking Starburst or Starlog here? Didn't look inside Starlog but I am sure that's on the shelf's in my area.
Yea, what UK poll??? If there was one you would think it came from Blade's board...

woops, I didn't see the difference in magazine names. That was from Starlog so if there is also an interview in Starburst then I will have to investigate.
Ok, the Starburst magazine #342, which shipped today the 20hth of Sept, has the onset Nicki Clyne interview and is is Starlog issue #348 which has the interview from above.

The
Starburst Magazine Interview of Nicki Clyne is up on skiffy. The scanned pages are awsome.
There is sooooo much juicy information in the last page. I saved them and can post them up on the board here but I wanted to find out if this was ok with the original poster first.
Nicki Clyne is signed up for more episodes than the previous season and see gives a very nice shoutout tothe organisers and fans at the Battlestar Atlantis convention in Germany, but beware I think she is questioning the German sanity in part of what she says. :P ( I am just jealous that you got her out there)
Read the little blurb on page five, where Nicki Clyne talks about going to see the post production with Michael Rymer, that is very nifty.
