Are the Jedi Chefs something to do with the Star Wars Tale Comics? There's a comic in there about two Jedis who enter a cook-off against a Hutt.

LOL, didn't know there was a comic about Jedi Chefs! :P Not sure if this has anything to do with that on an "official" level, but perhaps it was inspired but those comics.

It was just a one off along with the rest of the Star Wars Tales comics. Very funny little story, if only for the Hutt's entourage which includes an ewok with a pair of Y-fronts on his head!

To be honest, originally, I thought they were a little over the top and flashy. Most of the actors, however, appear to really enjoy the fun. And once I realized that a making-faces photo often looks better than when I try to turn photo-ops into "perfect marriage photography", I grew cool with the Chefs.

Hence, I look forward to meeting them one day. Gosh, and just so anybody will notice me, I'm gonna bring my giant plush Nemo fish. :lol:

There are many stories as to how the Jedi Chefs came about, no one remembers exactly because it involved copious amounts of alcohol. But many years ago two guys took some paper chef hats from a hotel kitchen while at a convention and it basically started from there.

Now at conventions they are regarded an ice breaker for the guests to relax and have fun. For convention newbies its chance to get to know a group of veterans who are more than willing to look after them.

I met them a few years ago because I started talking to a guy in a queue at a convention and he was friends with them. So through my random friendship with him I got to know them and now I have good friends from all of England.

Its just all for a bit of fun B)

Ah! Then perhaps if the guys are that well known as con visitors then it's possible the comic artist took "inspiration" from them.
