She turned 24 this year, yes, as she's from '83. So am I, but I'm 8 months late (my B'day is in October)

Sad but true. I for one have very little time for board activities nowadays so I am not helping much as board owner.

Nicki hasnt had any new gigs that we are aware of and BSG is on its extended break. Its sad that there isnt anything new to discuss or talk about.

But I am certain the board will fire up again, as soon as she starts working again! :thumbsup:

Maybe she's taking the time to do that MAXIM shoot - like the rest of the ladies from BSG?

The Golden Toaster Fan Awards are starting up again soon: this will encourage some discussion for a little while.

Still...sigh...I seriously thought they'd give Cally more to do in season 3, and it ended up being even worse than season 1.

And it's been one month and we've pretty much said everything we're going to say.

Summer vacation starts for me soon so if Solium is kind of busy I'll check in every other day or something, but I don't think there will be problems.

Look, the real hope is that when BSG ends Nicki lands a role as a regular cast member on another Vancouver-area TV series. Sort of like starting a Sarah Michelle Gellar fansite...in 1993.

We did what we set out to do; make a Cally fansite, and actually get a FRAKKING INTERVIEW with Nicki; no one can take away what we did. Cally started out as a minor cast member in season 1, and we started out in early season 1 as a group of people on the Scifi.com messageboards saying "wouldn't it be great if she became a major character?" Remember that Solium, when we were saying that in early season 1?

Well, there is GTA fan awards stuff to do. That should give her a boost.

Filming of BSG season 4 starts in May/June so I doubt she's on to other projects. Long story short, I'm disappointed with the missed opportunities with Cally, but they like her enough that I think they'll give her SOMETHING to do.

V, its funny... the more we wished for, the more we got- then we couldn’t get enough. Funny but true.

We wished Cally would become a "regular" cast member- she did.
We hoped Cally wouldn’t get killed early on in the first season- she didn’t.
We hoped for more Cally in season two- we got that.

In one way I still wish there was more Cally in season three, yet I hate to feel ungrateful because it could have been a whole lot less or worse yet she could have been killed off in "BD".

Not many other regulars from BSG doing side work, so I guess Nicki will have to be satisfied with her current gig until other things open up.

Yeah: plus I mean I"m at the "well, does BSG do my taxes and give my life meaning?" phase; some major cast members didn't even get a lot of screentime. And I mean objectively, even for like Roslin or Adama....in the grand scheme of life, what does it matter? (sigh) I guess I'm just feeling kind of out of it with the knowledge that the show is winding down.

I *do* hope cast members move onto something else.

But look, you're right: we GOT what we wanted. And the writers were AWARE of the Cally fandom: we're immortalized now (if not by name) in the DVD sets (this was the best thing ever) when in the DVD commentary for Extended Pegasus Ron mentions that Cally has "an entire online fan following".

And why did I like her at first? Because she was the exact opposite of Seven of Nine and the Space Babes that ruined Trek.

But Star Trek ended 2 years ago, and I've started to realize just how long ago that was. I mean other shows like Jericho, Lost, and Heroes now have meaningful (i.e. not insultingly sluty) female secondary characters.

You know its not only here but almost every board has a dry spell with news and activity so Hopefully we will have news once the new season begins
filming. :D
I feel for anyone who cant post alot. thats me too. I work almost all week and then with family Im lucky to get the time I do have online as my use to be friends spend 2-3 times more.

That being said I Do hope Nicki and the cast are well and look forward to the new season and having to wait many months is very painful and maybe they will be something happening in the near future.
