Well seriously, they don’t have the right look for Cally. She has smaller lips. The top lip is very small the bottom one is, well puffy for the lack of a better word. Also she should have "puppy" eyes.

They did a pretty good job with Starbuck and Boomer considering the limited design issues. But I agree Cally looks like a guy. :unsure:

It looks like the designer is a fan of Boomer or Starbuck. This is disappointing. :(

I can't do much with the hair, but I wonder if I could repaint the face and make it look more like Cally when I get one? :P

They didn't even put her cute ponytail in the back? <_<

I havent seen the back so I am not sure....

Update: Heres a close up. No it dosent look any better but I will get one all the same. Maybe I can repaint the face. :naughty:

Darth and Cat, I agree... They just didn’t get Cally right. I can see some resemblance in other MiniMate characters but not her. I do wonder if a repaint would make her look better? :whistle2:

I do not yet own a "Cally MiniMate" and not even sure when one will be made available for purchase.

But I decided to play around in Photoshop and see if I could in 2D improve the existing photo and carry that over to the actual toy itself if I was to ever repaint it.

Notes are included. The "official" paint job must have been done with little attention to Nicki's facial features because I found many areas that needed improvement.

Note I elected for a closed mouth with this particular "repaint" effort.

I second that! While the guys from DST are guilty of a major screw-up, you paid tribute to the true appearance of our heroine. Within the constraints of the mini-mate style, you did all that could be done. :thumbsup:

Maybe you should make some bucks off mini-mate re-painting. :D

Wow, good eye. She didn't look like anyone to me. But now that you say it, she does look like Seelix. :huh:

yeah, I looked at her, and for a second I thought 'Wow she looks like Seelix..' until I realized it was supposed to be Cally ...
