That was a nice interview. It would be great if we could get alittle more background on Katee's comment about Nicki.

Indeed it was good to hear someone else acknowledging it

There's no reason to criticise Katee's very true claim. Frankly, however, I would have loved to read something different. We all know Nicki's cute/sweet, and it would be great if someone said "Intelligent (too)" or something like that.

I think her Q&A in Germany shows what a bright, intelligent person she is, who speaks with thoughtful consideration. On the other hand Nicki is the Corn Muffin Goddess. :cornmuffins: But I know what you mean. :whistle2:

She never came across as the type one would primarily describe as intelligent. She comes across as intelligent (the germans would know better than me) sure, but not as the one adjective to describe her. Just a distant observation, besides very few of the people I know that I would primarly describe as intelligent are not that fun nor comfortable to be around. I agree that maybe something other than sweet/cute would have satisfied us more. Hopefully there will be many more Nicki Clyne interviews during the break before season four.
The oddest things stick with you but the strongest image of Nicki that I have which does not come from the screen is from one of Aaron's interviews wherein he tells a story about how she helps him with his lines and then mouths them silently as he says them, and you suppossedly can see her doing it on screen (I haven't verified this yet).

wow I'd be interesting in seeing that interview

Ok, I read it innitially and the image stuck with me for some reason and time turned it into more than what i originally read, but now after having found it again and re-reading it I can see that they are probably joking, it is very hard to pick up sarcasm from print. The entire interview
here.
A false image but still the exchange between the two here makes it seem all the more plausible.

Do you watch them?
Nicki: It's really important for actors to see what everybody else does too. Things can change so much from what's on the page to what's on the screen, so you get your information just from the last revisions of the script you might not understand what's really happening in the storyline.
Kandyse: Sometimes I watch the show and almost forget that I'm in it. I just get caught up in how it looks. I know I was there when a scene was shot, but I can see how much depth it has, the beautiful work that the camera and sound guys do.
Nicki: I think part of what makes our show so unique is you can tell that everyone who works on it, from the crew that's there every day to people in the editing room and actors, everyone loves it.
Aaron: I have to watch the DVDs because I never read the scripts and I have no idea what's going on.
Nicki: 'So that's what she was talking about when I was saying those lines!'
Aaron: So that's Apollo, huh? Actually, Nicki just reads the lines to me, and then I say them back to her.
Nicki: When he's talking you can see my lips moving too. |
