Title: Cally didn't die in Season 3
Description: proved 'em all wrong once again!

Cally was originally supposed to die in Season 1 episode 3, "Bastille Day"
Every episode, she could have really died. We were afraid she might die in season 1 all the way to the finale, when it was just a few of us on the Scifi.com forums noticing "this great minor guest character on the show"
Through much of Season 2, we were afraid all the time that Cally might be killed off. Specifically, during the Kobol arc either by the Cylons or by Crashdown, through the Pegasus madness....through the insanity of a BSG season finale, etc. etc. and she survived again.
And now, through the meat grinder of New Caprica and the plot turns of Season 3....Cally is still alive.
That's just a small, tiny little fact. But we can hold onto it. They might not have made the best of storyarcs for Cally or things for her to do in season 3, but she's still alive.
She's "an extra we bothered to give a name" from the Miniseries who stood out, who became a recurring guest we loved to see and got excited when we found out in season 1 that she was popping up in this week's episode.
I did not seriously think at the time, in season 1, that Cally would become a major character in Season 2 and beyond. They just kept writing her in week after week.
It was literally like a dream come true: on how many TV shows do you say "wow, that one backround guest character is nice, I hope she becomes a real recurring character on the show".....and then she DOES?
So, just to put the naysayers in their place (haha!)....even if you didn't like Cally too much in the self-admittedly sub-par 4 episode stretch between "Rapture" and "Maelstrom" when the episodes Cally was slotted to be in got rushed through development.....haha, she's still alive. There's still a future for her.
Cally is still alive on Battlestar Galactica. And where there is life....there is hope. There is a tomorrow. There is a future for Cally

Of course, as I have said many a time, my big hope is that *Nicki Clyne*, the actress, goes on to do more stuff; I mean she's really young, she's just turned 24, Battlestar is going to be on the air for another 2 years or so....and then what will she move on to?
I mean Racetrack's Leah Cairns is already moving on to stuff (she's in some Al Pacino movie called "88 Minutes", but I'd just like to see Nicki do more stuff; it was fun going over her old roles guesting on other Vancouver-area shows but now I think she's focusing on Battlestar Galactica (well of course, it *is* her breakout role :) )
But still, I really hope (and the goal is) that one day Nicki is a main cast member on onther successful TV show: I don't mean "the" main character, but one of the "Regular Seven" or something.
Well, at the moment, there is no reason to be worried that she is not; she's simply focusing on BSG.
AFter that, well the acting world can be a cruel place, but she's done VERY respectably on BSG (she's a bigger character than Kat was; Kat was good I just mean Cally is actually a "secondary cast member") and I think she'll be able to go on to something huge.

I doubt she is soley concentrating on BSG. She played a major part in a television movie during her stint on BSG so far. She has given up the two second bits in other television shows but that is probably a good thing for her.

Season 4 filming begins in June.
I wonder if she's doing anything else: I think we would have heard if she was doing anything else by now. She's probably auditioning alot.
