I don't know how many people listen to The New Pornographers; they're one of my favorite bands, which oddly also come from Vancouver! So I was surprised when I saw her in their video for The Laws Have Changed, singing and dancing in a retro-60s club. Nothing better than good indie pop and scifi.

LOL... Well I like Nicki and the New Pornographers, so getting to enjoy both at the same time rocks. :D

I would love to get a second interview and ask her about her experience on the video now that we know of its existence! :D ;)

That would be sweet. I'd probably have a hard time focusing on whether I should talk about the New Pornographers, BSG, or her other projects, since I'm pretty much of fan of them all. (Sadly, I have yet to see Ill-Fated but want to simply because its an indie flick.)

Not to mention that she always manages to look great in retro-80s style clothing. :D

I agree she looked cool in the video, kinda similar to the "blue shirt portrait" I have posted online. I Like her hair style with the bangs as well. Its just a perfect look for her. I Liked the video too, even though I do not really listen to vocals that much.

Edit: After seeing a "clearer" version of The Laws Have Changed, I have to say Nicki can dance! She was really rock'n :P

...And sing! Though it was her lip syncing Neko Case's parts, I imagine she probably could hold her own in a karaoke joint.

I remember her saying in an interview she couldnt sing, but wish she could learn the guitar to pass the time on the set between shoots. :lol:

Didn't Aaron Douglas mention in an interview that she sings karaoke? Its like one of her things, even though she's shy about it... She also played a member of a band in the movie Saved.

I didn't know that. I bet it would be fun to see.

Her lip syncing is actually spot-on! Isn't she secretly singing along with the backing track which was later dubbed by the original audio?

I'd love to bring up the "karaoke" at some convention, maybe as a little joke. I'm going to be DJ'ing at an upcoming Dutch con (in October, on my birthday even!) and I'd get a heart attack if Nicki were to be a guest there (Then I'd throw in The Laws Have Changed for sure!)
